All the drop down menus are broken in Firefox 5.01 on system dual monitor.

My system specs...

  • Intel Core 2 Quad 9550 clocked at 3.2 GHz
  • 8 GB of OCZ DDR2 6400
  • PNY GTX 460SSC
  • 4 WD Caviar Black SATA HD is a total of 4 TB
  • Blu - ray LG burner
  • Plextor DVD burner
  • 1000W Corsair modular power supply
  • Corsair Obsidian 700 d case

When Firefox is open on the second monitor (not the one designated as my primary monitor) and I try to open a drop-down list (including folders of bookmarks in the bookmarks bar, the menu options or in the menu bookmark) they twinkle and disappear, leaving the outline of the menu back and allow me to always select something from the menu. I have attached multiple links in the screenshot below.

This happens every time, any monitor I appointed as my primary monitor. I made a new installation of Windows 7 (low first hard drive upgrade) (x 64), all my drivers by the Web sites of manufacturers and Windows Update, installed updated Firefox 5.0.1 with no Add-ons and it still happens. If I swap which monitor is my main, the problem follows the secondary monitor. I was running an ATI Radeon HD 4870 and suspected the map (because ATI blows and do not support one of their cards to Professional workstation that comes in my PC caught fire and has less than a year and a half old), so I went out and bought a new PNY GTX card 460SSC, downloaded the latest drivers and the problem persists. I have restored my video drivers in a full version (from v275.xxx to v274.xxx) and the problem persists. I also just discovered that the menus are corrupt in Add-ons too, namely FireFTP menus when you bring them down.

The solution posted in fixed wire underneath it for me:

"Tools > Options > general (tab) > advanced.

Under navigation try disabling use hardware acceleration when available. "

    I use a completely updated version of Windows 64 bit on a new ASUS laptop. I've updated to version 24 [IIRC 12] FF and browse the drop-down menus are not displayed correctly. They also testify anyway altered, too big or too small. When I run in safe mode, they work very well. I disabled all extensions and plugins and the problem persists. I have reset FF and the problem persists. It is usually a invalid parameter is passed to a routine and a mistake that should not be happening on not one but 2 versions [24 and 25].

    Safe mode also disables the use of Firefox hardware acceleration of graphics. This method works around the graphics card driver incompatibilities. You should try it in normal mode and see if it helps.

    You will need to restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > advanced

    In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

    Why some in the drop down menus are black so that you do not see the command until the cursor is on it.

    Of course, you can convert the Word file PDF but the drop downs should be recreated using form tools in Acrobat. You can use the drop-down list form field to re-create the menus.

  • Button check that several drop down menus are not the default submit

    Hi all

    I create a form that has several drop down menus and add a submit button that checks on Mouseup executes the following code. I need it so that they are not yet on the default value and they chose something different otherwise she will not submit.

    Instance field 'UserDepartment' has the value default of ' Select Department: "I added the checked for 3 of the drop down menus far, but no matter what I choose always travels and don't pop up with an alert, even if the default is selected.

    What I am doing wrong? I have read several other issues, but for me (no experience), it seems fine.

    var v = this.getField("UserDepartment").value;
    var v2 = this.getField("UserRole").value;
    var v3 = this.getField("ManagerRole").value;
    if (v == "Select Department:")
    {
        app.alert("You must select a valid department for the new starter before you can submit this form.");
    }
    else if (v2 == "Select Job Role:")
    {
        app.alert("You must select a valid department for the new starter before you can submit this form.");
    }
    else if (v3 == "Select Job Role:")
    {
        app.alert("You must select a valid department for the manager before you can submit this form.");

    {
        submitForm({cURL: "mailto:[email protected]", cSubmitAs: "PDF"});
    }

    To make it replace the first two lines of your code with this:

    var f = this.getField ("UserDepartment");

    If (f.valueAsString is f.defaultValue)

    If it still does not work, you will need to share the file with us for more

  • When I try to edit a room photo in photoshop elements 12, I'm not able to use the slider or one of the drop down menus. All I have is a black circle with a line through it.

    When I try to edit a room photo in photoshop elements 12, I'm not able to use the slider or one of the drop down menus. All I have is a black circle with a line through it.

    Most likely, the images are 16-bit/channel.

    Go to Image > Mode and click on 8-bit/channel and see if that solves the problem.

  • Update the drop-down menus and jQuery sortable collide with the 16.0.2

    The drop-down menus that are contained in a table sortable jquery act as if they are disabled. By clicking on them, doesn't matter. I can tab in the menu drop down and control it with the arrow keys, but the mouse does nothing. The menus outside of the table still work very well. This problem only occurs in Firefox 16.0.2 on several computers, all equipped with Windows 7. The problem does not occur in IE9, Chrome or Safari. In addition, the problem does not occur in Firefox 15, but it occurs in Firefox 17 Beta. I did not see anything addressing this specific issue, so I guess this isn't a known issue.

    The problem has been resolved.

  • DW-MX-04 in the drop-down menus do not work.

    I use Dreamweaver MX 2004 (have been for several years, so I know my way around it).  I want to create the menu drop-down or menu ruffles to consolidate the links on the page into categories in order to reduce the number of tabs of link I have on each page.  I was able to create the menu, I needed (using the: Tag Chooser\ Behaviors\ the menu Pop-U), but when I saw the pages in Internet Explorer, the text shows that on the text of mouseover (not on top) despite the text color defined as black in the Menu window.  But it's even worse.  When I downloaded the page to try it, in the drop-down menus appear not at all when I hover over the main buttons and I get javascript errors.

    Can someone give me assistance both on how to solve this problem?

    I checked the issue of text color by using the code editor pane view, and it matches the way I have it set on the Shortcut Menu.  But that's the least of my worries, if I can't get to work at all when the pages are turned.

    Thank you... JEB

  • Drop-down menus are mutually exclusive

    Hi all:

    I am working on a form in which I need to have a user rates four items 1 to 4 compared to the other. Initially, we were going to use 4 drop downs each menu containing four options allowing the user to choose. The problem is, of course, that the user could choose option 1 four times in a row. So I need a way to allow the user to assess these four points 1 to 4, but in a mutually exclusive way. the image below shows the problem (they are in Spanish, but the text is not important). Here point 1 and section 4 have been selected both as 1, which is what we want to avoid. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

    You could have a script of the event preOpen all of the four drop-down menus that would set the display settings, based on the previous selections in the other drop-down menus.

    There is an example here to populate the drop-down menus: http://assure.ly/jcTahK.

    Try this in the DropDownList1 preOpen event:

    Remove the previously selected items

    this.deleteItem (DropDownList2.selectedIndex);

    this.deleteItem (DropDownList3.selectedIndex);

    this.deleteItem (DropDownList4.selectedIndex);

    Hope that helps,

    Niall

  • Cannot scroll inside the drop down Menus

    I just got a new laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit) HP, installed Firefox 11 (now updated to 12) and discovered that when using the touchpad (Touchpad Synaptics v8.1. Driver provided by Synaptics, version 15.3.29.0 as of 10/13/2011), I can't scroll inside the drop down menus.

    To replicate, go to this link: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/sss/

    Click on the drop down menu to the search category. Use the touch pad to scroll through the list. Mine closed list and returns focus in the browser instead of scrolling of the list. It then scrolls the window of the browser instead. This works fine in IE. I tried the things:

    Safe mode
    Unchecking scroll smoothly
    Uncheck auto-scroll
    Uncheck the hardware acceleration

    And about all the various combinations of the above things. I also tried to restart Firefox every time I made a change. Nothing seems to solve this problem.

    Oddly enough, if there is a window of text within the page (as I write this), I can scroll than fine. Once I move my mouse out of the box, it scrolls the homepage very well. I don't think that it is a matter of the development following the mouse, there something to scrollable drop-down boxes that specifically seems.

    Also, I must point out that all the pages I have problems with work well in IE how they SHOULD work in Firefox.

    I had this exact problem, the same features of HP and the driver Synaptics. I went to synaptics site and downloaded their latest driver which is lower 15.3.29.0 for some reason any. There 15.2.20, I got this one for 64 bit since that's what I have. You must uninstall the 15.3.29.0 first because it is "newer". He now works properly in FF and IE and everything else. If for any reason any the last FF has a confrontation with the latest version of the synaptics driver and FF devs had to include a fix in the next patch.

  • FW CS3 - Code corrupted in the drop-down Menus

    Suddenly the drop down menus in my FW CS3 (Windows) shows strange symbols instead of normal keyboard shortcuts (such as F8, etc.). My other programs in the CS3 suite are fine (P/S, Flash, creation, etc.). Tried to restart, help menu, etc... nothing seems to work.

    Here's a sample of what I see now. Someone knows how to fix this? Thank you! :)

    Screenshot of the menu corrupted in FW Text

    Try to reset your preferences file:

    Close the Fw
    Navigate to the following location on your drive:
    [Drive, C:] \Documents and Settings\ [user] \Application CS3\ [application language, such as "English" folder].

    Delete/backup the Preferences.txt file from this folder to a different location.

    Restart the FW and see if this fixes it.

  • somehow, I've changed the shading of the drop down menus. How can I increase the opacity of the menus.

    I was fiddling with the settings and change the opacity of the drop down menus (like when I get a few letters in the browser address window, and a menu drop-down is displayed with suggestions). The drop down menu is now almost transparent - almost impossible to read. How can I change this back?

    Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

    Safe mode disables extensions in Firefox 4 and later versions, and disables hardware acceleration.

    Try turning off hardware acceleration.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

    If disable hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

  • The drop down menus lost when I selectedfull-page display.

    Tricky

  • The drop down menus work intermittently; all add-ons are disabled.

    When I run the cursor over a menu item; File, Edit, history, etc., the drop down menu does not decrease. If I click on the menus, drop down menus will appear and then disappear. If I continue to do this for several seconds, the menu will be displayed when selected. I'm having the same problem with this help screen when I do a right-click with the mouse.

    Thanks - Mike F.

    In Firefox 4 and later Safe mode disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.

    Try turning off hardware acceleration.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

    If disable hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
