  OS: Oracle Linux 6.5

  In this particular PB we have multiplexes recovery logs (2 members from each group of redo).

  If one member of a group of Redo log is corrupted then, regardless of whether the Member belonged to the Group that is CURRENT, ACTIVE or INACTIVE, can we just let GO and CREATE the file journal lost this group member by following the steps below?

  -Find the corrupted Member

  SELECT GROUP #, STATUS, MEMBER OF V$ LOGFILE WHERE STATUS = 'INVALID ';

  1 back UP the DB

  2. CHANGE THE SYSTEM CHECKPOINT;

  3 ALTER DATABASE CLEAR LOGFILE GROUP 3;  - , This step should not be executed. Right?

  4. ALTER DATABASE DROP LOGFILE MEMBER ' / oracle/oradata/wms/redo02.log';

  (Apparently, this removes not the logfile at the OS level, only the control file is updated in the DB)

  5 ALTER DATABASE ADD LOGFILE MEMBER ' / oracle/oradata/wms/redo02b.log' to GROUP 3.

  When I googled for steps, I found the table below in the official documentation of the Oracle. This table is applicable only if the ENTIRE REDO LOG disappeared.

  Sorry, that data are gone. When you get a new SyncKey key your data is erased automatically by the synchronization server. Data is worthless without the key correct SyncKey, which is used for the encryption and decryption of your data as it is uploaded and downloaded to and from the synchronization server.

• Acrobat lost registration info you and tell me that it is a fake copy

  If you have a backup to cold (closing correctly database) without the redo logs, change this:

  CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE DATABASE "XE" NORESETLOGS NOARCHIVELOG
  

  TO

  CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE DATABASE "XE" RESETLOGS NOARCHIVELOG
  

  You need to change the NORESETLOGS RESETLOGS for Oracle to recreate online redo logs.

  Received a failure to connect to an online banking service, eventually getting a web page entirely filled by screen with no scroll bar, no menu bar at the top. Tried to restart firefox, restart the computer, removing/reinstalling firefox, all to nothing does not. Did not remove 'settings' assuming that my url / passwords would be deleted. How to get the web page to be 'size' correctly.

  You can try to close Firefox, moving localstore.rdf on Firefox profile, then restart Firefox. It should reset the window size and position. If it works, you will have to Redo toolbar customizations, you did. If this isn't the case, you can move back the localstore file in the profile again.

  I went through the steps and got the boot to a read error trying to start on the bootcamp partition.

  In addition, I had bootcamp windows installation USB key that I was going to start, from the discussions around the read error.  I couldn't accomplish that, as when started the USB, the display depending on whether you get after you choose the language and keyboard is not the screen where you can choose the Startup Repair, but the first screen of the windows installation.  Interestingly, with the same USB stick plugged into a mac mini without bootcamp partition, boot/repair screen comes up

  Recovery methods:

  If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

  To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

  In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

  Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

  Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

  First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

  If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

  If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.
   
  If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

  A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

  Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages.
