Allocation of multiple DNS in UCS.

Hi, can somehow let me know which DNS server uses the UCS when you have set up several of them? Especially in the case of the cisco routers, this is the one you set up first, is that router queries. BUT I'm not sure that in the case of the UCS, as one that is configured, 1 goes down the list in the GUI.

Hello

Since it is based on linux, it would use a list of DNS servers in the order (from first entry to the bottom of the file), as specified in the /etc/resolv.conf file.

To verify the behavior of GUI and theory, I did a quick test in the laboratory.

The last entry added via GUI was the first entry in the /etc/resolv.conf file.

He asks so in order as see you in the GUI.  It is therefore first level the last DNS server registered even though it appears at the bottom of the list in the GUI.

tcpdump - neither eth0 dst port 53

IP 22:12:47.381799 FI-MGMT - IP.33128 > 5.5.5.5.53: 35904 + A? www.Cisco.com. (31)

IP 22:12:52.382920 FI-MGMT - IP.33129 > 3.3.3.3.53: 35904 + A? www.Cisco.com. (31)

IP 22:12:55.392924 FI-MGMT - IP.33145 > 2.2.2.2.53: 35904 + A? www.Cisco.com. (31)

Even once questioning followed 5.5.5.5 3.3.3.3 and 2.2.2.2 until maximum tires.

[EDIT]   If refresh GUI (move to another section and then click again on the DNS management), it now shows the DNS server in the order configured by the user.

  • How to specify multiple DNS servers with Dr.-ip-customizer

    Hey guys,.

The CSV file I get out of the Dr.-ip-customizer tool seems to imply that I can specify multiple DNS servers (it has a column called "DNS Server (s)'").  My problem is that I do not know how...  I tried to put in two server IPs with a space between them, I also tried a comma followed by a semicolon.  The semicolon and space gets the error thrown upward when I try to import that says 'Invalid DNS server field' and the comma causes her think that there are too many columns (since it is after all a CSV file).

so, any ideas? What I have to put on separate lines or something

According to the Administrator's guide (P. 56, it is not very clear), it seems that you want to place the second DNS server on a new line with the VM ID and the number of the adapter.  '0' If you want to be global value or the number of actual card to override the global settings.

    Hope that helps...

  • To access the DNS - MMIC - UCS direct KVM ip address name

    Hello community,

I have a little problem. We use 2.2 (3d) UCS and 32 M3 B200. Now, I want to use a direct KVM access.

For all 32 blade servers, we have created the DNS for their IP MMIC entries addresses.

    example: ESXserver1.rc (servername + ".rc") 192.168.0.1 <-- --="">(address IP of MMIC)

If I enter the IP address of MMIC in the browser, direct access KVM works very well.

If I get the DNS name in the browser, direct access KVM page load, I connect and get the following error message:

GetKVMLaunchUrl: Invalid or IP address of zero MMIC spent

Can someone help me? What do I have to configure something?

    Concerning

    Hugo

    Hi Danny Sander,

By DNS name it won't work even if you have created in the DNS entries also, because it works through the address IP of MMIC mangement.

  • allocation of multiple vCPUs - unipolar or multicore?

I am allocating multiple vCPU to a Windows VM guest.

Is it better to allocate 4 vCPU core or two bicoeur vCPU?
    How do we decide?
Does still make any difference? - and if so, which is the best way to do it?

I know that CPU can be the most difficult resource maximum in a cluster of small vSphere hosts 2-3 and that memory is the most important resource.
    Thank you, Tom

with what you use, what it won't make a difference if you run 4 vcpu simple, 2 dual vcpu-core or single core quad vcpu - all exactly the same thing will happen.

  • Questions about the allocation of multiple NETWORK cards in a machine virtual Windows XP Machine HOST/NAT or bridged?

    Hi all

That is the situation. We have a Machine physics WindowsXP with 5 CARDS, all with static IP. Only be connected to the internal network without physical Internet connection is used.

    Map NETWORK 1 has a 10.34.78.241/255.255.255.0 IP Gateway 10.34.78.2

Map NETWORK 2 has an IP 192.168.22.242/255.255.255.0

    Map NETWORK 3 has a 192.168.100.241/255.255.255.0 IP

Map NETWORK 4 has an IP 172.27.254.240/255.255.0.0

5 NIC has an IP 192.168.242.10/255.255.255.252

I used VMWare Converter Standalone to do a P2V PC, which works well with the latest version of VMWare Workstation. All were brought to the course successfully. The virtual machine has 5 Networksas by the XP Machine of origin.

I built a Win7 Machine with 5 physical NETWORK interface cards, I suppose to replicate the Windows original XP Machine, I need configure the static IP address of the new NICs as shown above and configure cards NETWORK the VM 5 HOST mode and use the virtual network Editor

to adapt the VMS NICS? Or is there a better way to do it?

Cheers for any help and advice that can be provided...

If I'm wrong, you should be able to create a Bridged (vmnet) network for each physical card. Make sure that one (which is created by default) is mapped to a physical NIC dedicated rather than automatic.

  • DHCP DNS options

I have a small office, served by a SA520 and Road Runner cable modem.

What is the recommended setting for our DNS users?  At the present time our DHCP (via the built-in router DHCP server) passes on its own address as the DHCP server.  Then client machines indicate that the DNS server on 192.168.1.1.  Our WAN config on this router then points to the servers DNS of Road Runner.

Would it be better performance if we passed the DNS servers of direct Road Runner customers?  Or even open DNS servers of google?  It seems that the performance would be better if they went directly to a DNS server rather than the transmission by proxy through the router.

    Thank you

DNS is a distributed system for balancing on multiple dns servers.  Basically, the sa520 is a proxy dns cache.  The way it works is:

client wishes to connect to something (for example,www.cisco.com ).  The customer research in the local dns cache, if it has solved this recently he will use the locally cached IP address to connect.  (faster)

If the local cache has expired or has no entry for www.cisco.com, the client goes to his server dns (sa520), if the site is cached, SA sends the dns response returned and the customer then goes to the site.  If the site is not cached, the sa520 will go to the resolver (Roadrunner) and dns RR can go to its resolver and the process continues until the dns process gets to a server who knows the .cisco .com.     and www (it could be 3 different servers)

but, and this is where the local caching comes in to make it faster.  If you have several devices on the network, it is likely, someone has already gone on this site, it is cached locally and the router can return a result not resolve on the internet.

This is more important with web pages that have multiple http connections on several sites (facebook icons, ads, twitter links, graphics, etc.).

Local caching puts less load on the Web servers of root, or dns googles.

for average config, you can point your dns 8.8.8.8 SA520 wan settings (google) and see if its impact on your performance, but it really depends on the combination of dns queries that happens on your network.

generally local caching on the router pointing to a fast dns is the best combination to reduce DNS querys and traffic, but always respond quickly.

Note, a lot of questions "slow internet" are really caused by the slow dns resolution (as well as the programming of web pages with 10s or hundreds of links on them.

    It will be useful,

  • How to optimize a new iMac for After Effects

I bought the most tricked out available, with 32 GB of ram, a graphics card updated, all new iMac everything.

But export my project out of After Effects takes so much time on my new iMac, as it did on my macbook 2011 - about 6 hours.

I know how to handle my export settings, so maybe I just need to change my computer's system settings to work better with After Effects.

Mac had no advice and showed me Adobe, so I'm here.

    Any advice?

Learn more about optimizing your system for AE and follow these guidelines, allocate multiples of 4 GB of ram for your process. At the very least keep the ram allocated in multiples of 2 GB. If you use the rendering of the MP, then make sure that the total number of processors equals the total number of processors. It is easy to end up with 0 actually used processors if you allocate too much ram to a core. If you use traced rendered section make sure that you have configured correctly and that you have a NVIDIA GPU correctly configured and installed the latest drivers, CUDA. You must check the box "use maps not taken in charge" in your preferences for rendering raytraced using CUDA is is no longer developed by Adobe. If you do not have or have not properly configured your NVIDIA card, then DO NOT install Cuda drivers.

Last point, note that all projects will work with MP because not all plugins and codecs are aware of MP well. Also, do not have your FAT disk cache. He has no sense cluttering up your available disk space and you strip total system bandwidth with a large number of redundant or unnecessary reading write cycles.

  • Redirect TNS on 2 node RAC returns host name, should be the FQDN

    Hello

our 2-node RAC (11 GR 1 matter, Linux x 64) listeners return only a host without a domain name name when TNS redirects sending (when you load balancing server-side). Is it possible to configure them to send complete domain names? Listener.ora files are configured with full domain names on both nodes.

I really want the FQDNs, because clients must connect from multiple DNS domains.

Oracle takes the name of vip of the local_listener parameter set to the database.
So make sure your whole DB instance local_listener parameter the name of domain name vip.

    local_listener=LISTENER_DB1

    LISTENER_DB1=
    (ADDRESS_LIST =

Plans of resources only manage CPU allocation when multiple sessions are running and the resources are fully utilized, if a single session is active and has been attributed to a resource group containing 2% CPU, can be used 100% of the CPU unless something else is running, it is logical that we can not save cycles CPU for later.
If you have two sessions is allowed 2% other 98% and the two are linked and then resource Erzberg will manage resources, as expected, at the UC

This happens usually if you accidentally double click all by assigning the resource, or if this resource has already been assigned to this activity.

I was wondering if there is a way to capture the DNS server logs and monitor visited Web sites of specific host ips/name?

I don't have an example to make immediately available, and I expect that it will be the analysis or an output channel created manually or otherwise searching the DNS server connects.

If your firewall blocks all outgoing DNS traffic except for DNS queries on the server (this is to avoid without entering the DNS server, register via VPN or other), you can turn on extra logging through the command line, and then check the DNS server logs.

This configuration is probably more commonly implemented with either a network sniffer I look for DNS queries arriving at your server, or perhaps a web proxy server, as this proxy server gets you the customer information and the target host information, as it won't be all kinds of activities related to the web-is in the DNS for a typical client newspapers.

Activity network Apps, app updates (various which may seem HTTPS traffic, too), multiple streams of data, etc.

HTTPS and VPN can throw a key in these listening and data collection activities, unfortunately.  They can hide the access or hide the DNS query, according to the monitored computers.

There are approaches especially here, including the firewall of filtering (or notation) and the mechanisms of OS X such as Parental controls, depending on the specific details of your needs here.    There are examples posted around the network to use Wireshark or tcpdump to acquire the DNS of your network data, as well.

Details on the management of the BIND 9 command line - i.e. when there is hair - are available in the ISC BIND documentation, such as 9.10.  Find statement grammar and record the setting up an output channel, as a starting point.

For recent versions of OS X Server, BIND configuration files are under/Library/Server.  (See this discussion, as well.)

Changes to the configuration files can sometimes fail.app, unfortunately.   Close.app, make the changes to a copy of the file, then restart.app (and I hope Server.app don't spill or undo your changes).
