There is no easy answer to this question.

Most newer programs will have options for each installation for the current user or the installation for all users. If the current user is selected, you can use the program with a new user account is based on the folder locations and the locations of the registry where the program installs its files.

Here's one thing you can try.

Log in with the account used to install the programs. Copy a shortcut to the program you want and paste it into the folder C:\Users\Public\Desktop. It is the location of users everyone and everything in this folder will be placed on the desktop of each user account.

Log on with the user account and try to start the program from the shortcut on the desktop.

If this does not work for a particular program, you may need to reinstall the program and select the option for all users during installation.

    Hoping that this is not too off-topic, but I'm really running out of ideas...

    I have this trading program full license (TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 4.2) who has worked on my Win7/64 for several months, and in recent weeks, has become excruciatingly slow for every user interaction (but not for real computing), making it essentially unusable (1'30 to launch vs 3 normally, 30 "seconds waiting to launch a 'new project' vs.)<1s normally,="">

    When 'pending' launch application or respond to a command, 12% of the full CPU (8 logical cores on CPU Core i7 third Gen) is used by a single process: the offending application (look at the Task Manager, 1 logical core is used to +/-80%, a second for about 15% of this process). All other processes are still at 0% CPU usage.

    Of course, I tried & tested many things including full-/ re-installation of the application with a careful cleaning etc., corresponding registry entries software disabling AV (Avira free), .net Framework Repair Tool, etc... no change! The disc has been checked and is OK.

    Some interesting tips:

    This app worked fine for several months before the problem started abruptly a few weeks; I tried to uninstall .net Framework 4.5 updates to a date prior to the date of beginning of apparent problem, does not; I came back to an earlier version of the offending software: no change.

    But the most interesting observation is that the app works well at the launch of any other user account on the same machine Win7/64 (whether with the normal credentials or admin), so for me that means there should be no conflict of software on the computer, only something in my profile of the main user who causes the app behave so slowly.

    At this point, the Helpdesk of the seller looks distraught - too.

    Suggestions for troubleshooting?

    BTW: I consider that this computer is well managed, and no rogue or untrusted app sleeps there. my main profile is fairly heavily customized for my work, so I want to avoid workaround last resort would be to create a new user account as work environment main (besides the fact that I hate not to find the root cause of the problem)

    I run Windows Vista 32-bit.  I wonder if the following message is a HP program. It opens in a window in my other user account, just after I start:

    Manager version is part of HP Advisor and can be enabled or disabled via the HP Advisor program.

    Launch of HP Advisor and you'll see a key that allows you to access the settings. In the settings menu say Manager version does not run at startup.

    More than likely a permissions problem.

    Use the isk utility to fix the permission for each account.

    If that didn't solve the problem hughlight (selection) on the Applications folder / Adobe Illustrator CS 5 and select Get Info (command I) and watch and watch the section sharing and permissions at the bottom of the dialog box and make sure that all of the listed users are given read/write privileges.

    Eevn if they are listed as it then click on the icon of a padlock at the bottom right to open the mechanism to read the information and go the the og the lock left where you see pre as an icon and a facing of arowhead down and select from the drop down to apply these rules to all included items.

    Close the Get Info and try to run THEN.

    Which essentially restores the registry from a backup copy kept with the files in system restore.  In part 2, select a dated folder until you have had this problem to copy the registry of the.  Personally, I find it is easier to start from free Linux Livecd like Knoppix , in which case you can start the procedure in part 2, step 6 using Linux and paste to copy files to their desired location.  Live CD of Linux has no problems with dealing with the status of "Super hidden" System Volume Information folder.

    The main login screen is completely different. Now it is only a small window with my moms user account name and a space for a password. I have no possibility to change account.

    I can not access another user account.  It to request a username and password.  I enter the user name is correct and there is no password.  The login page, used to have two icons of the user; but for some reason, the last log on the user icon is here and a new white icon for the new user.

    I installed the latest version of fusion on my machine and a copy of windows XP. It is very good and I am impressed by the ease and speed of it. When my son connects to his user account and Fusion to do some homework on one only program windows at startup, it is not a virtual machine at startup. This means that using merge I cannot use a mac user account? Can I move the windows folder to a location for all to use or y at - it a setting I need to change in Fusion? Maybe, I need to install windows again on his account. If Yes this will cause other potential problems and hog hard disk space unnecessarily. I would prefer merger to the boot camp because I need for windows and mac at the same time. Any help would be appreciated.

    Here is an excerpt:

    Only one person can be using the VM to

    a time (and the fast user switching does not count). Suspension (and

    maybe taken snapshot) the VM will probably cause others to not

    be able to use the virtual machine.

    Important: whenever you produce operations (move, copy, edition, deletion, etc.) in a virtual machine, make sure it is turned off and the Fusion is not running. You don't want to change data in Fusion.

    To do this, are the main things you need to do:

    • Move the virtual machine to a shared location for others users can access

      • An example of this is/Users/Shared /.

    • Change the permissions so that any user can access the virtual machine

      • In the Finder, select the virtual machine, and then select read the information. Then
        "Ownership and permissions > other" change "read and write".
        (I don't know if you need to do this also for access to the Group). You too
        need to do this for the contents of the virtual machine - do not forget the forest earlier
        on how to get inside a package? And repeat the Get Info

    Sorry for the long question. The issue is that totally impossible to install Firefox 9.0.1, so it can be used by the two user accounts on this desktop computer. I tried several times to download the update and install when running the second user account. It does not seem to install - page 'About' Watch 'Apply Update' - which then seems to do nothing. When I go to the primary account user Firefox is fully installed and functional.

    If files have already been downloaded, then delete the files in the folder of updates\0 and updates or you need to run Firefox once as administrator on each account where the files for the update has been downloaded.

    You can also remove active - update.xml, or even updates.xml (stores the history of update).
