Alphabetical order of folders
How can I get an alphabetical sort my files in my library? I tried to drag and drop, but most cases refuse to go where I want them to go, and I see not all orders that would allow me to sort records. Here are the strictly family pictures. But they don't want to just be in alphabetical order. Thank you!
What version of Aperture do you have? In most versions of Aperture 3, (3.3 or later) you can sort your albums and projects using the Actions menu in the upper part of the Info Panel - click the gear icon and choose "keep the projects and classified albums by...". ».
All projects in your library can also by sorted like this by ctrl-clicking on the project and using the context menu.

How to organize my pictures folders in alphabetical order on iPad?
My photos are in folders on the iPad - there is a lot of them.
Each bears the name, for example weddings, birthdays, Christmas, holidays etc..
I would like to organize them in alphabetical order so I can quickly find the photo I'm looking for.
There is no option to reorder, I can't drag.
Someone knows how to do this? It should be easy!
Touch edit in the upper right corner, then long tap on folder to drag. Works on mine anyway!

Playlists within folders are not displayed in alphabetical order.
My playlists within folders are no longer displayed alphabetically. The playlists of a folder sort order used to sort the smart playlists listed first, sorted alphabetically and then regularly following playlists, also in alphabetical order. The default order appears to be dictated by the order in which I add a playlist to a folder. Is there a way to go back to get my playlists displayed in alphabetical order in a folder?
It is since October of 2012 because I regularly used last iTunes. At the time, I was on iTunes under Windows XP. I am back in iTunes on my new Mac and finds that some things have changed.
I use iTunes 12.3.2.35 for Mac (OS X El Capitan V 10.11.2).) I searched the internet with so many phrases that I could think of a solution, but don't see any recent threads on the topic.
So I would really appreciate help with this!
If your problem isn't at all like mine, I have a solution for you. Two things. First of all, you will probably get their back to alphabetical simply quit iTunes and restart.
However, you may need also a more involved issues like I did.
I had not only of new playlists are going down, but in many cases (but not all), any playlist I clicked on that jump down! I came across a solution today. I was working on one of the selections that are still in place, but changed the opinion of "Playlist" (the one that shows a small pocket followed by the name and some other information file) to a called «movie Lists» "Lists of film" is a playlist folder that contains a number of smart playlists, including the one I was working on.
Well, as soon as I changed from this point of view, this playlist jumped to the bottom of the list. Then, I checked all the smart playlists in each playlist file. Of course, everything that had the view set to the name of the folder that they were kept jumping around. I could change the 'Playlist', or 'Movies' (or what type the playlist was for), or 'Genre' and they move.
So I suspect that if your playlist jumps down when you click on it, if you check your records, you will find that point of view is the problem. Change the display (selection on the top right side, just under the box "search") and solve the problem. Then, quit iTunes and restart to bring back them to alphabetical.

It seems impossible to display files and folders together in alphabetical order. Instead I see files first and then the files that I often (not always) want
I have sometimes seen them together but have no idea how this happens.
Ferrière
Hello Ferds,
In Windows Explorer, simply type an asterisk in the search engine to return all the files and folders in the folder parent. You can click on any column heading to sort the results in this column.
Mr. Doug in New Jersey
It is a good workaround (thanks Mr Wizard) If you want to view the files in this way - but the procedure does not correct how Explorer files are sorted in the records themselves. And you will have to do it every time you viewed a folder because the search procedure would not automatically from window to window transfer and may not be assigned to do.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

How can I get the folders in my pictures in alphabetical order?
I store a lot of pictures in the section my images of Documents. If they are my work I've usually label them with A_MyName_Subtitle_Subtitle, or AA_MyName_Subtitle_Subtitle, etc. so I can find those at the top of the list when I open it. However, new records with such a letter added appendix are unwilling automatically in the right place and I need to drag and drop them, often several times until they stay where I want that they. In XP, there's a selection you could choose who would suit the records in alphabetical order and happen automatically, but there is nothing like that here, I don't waste a lot of time trying to find the record or the record itself. Does anyone know how to solve this problem other that having microsoft do the obvious thing by adding the 'alphabetical' selection in the information bar or to make it even more accessible as if it were in XP? I mean, who organised this major league screw up? Thank you very much.

I M working on windows 7 ultimate and I did not find any option to group files or folders in alphabetical order, as in windows XP for example A, B, C, D etc separately. Well, there is an option available to the group by name, but this option actually group the items in the collection from A to H, I I-P, Q - Z.
Please suggest me any option if they are available in this "Last" operating system, otherwise I'll have to go back to windows XP, because I have a lot of data in the range A - H, Q - P etc and I don't want to waste my time to find my articles in these piles (A - H, Q - P etc.)Please suggest.

How can I organize my documents in alphabetical order in their folders?
I can't find a way to organize my documents or images in alphabetical order inside of a folder - I have tons of photos too with numbers and title as 002Crystal_Vase in the example and I was not able to organize, by number, the way it was in XP. I use Windows 7. If I choose (arrange the name"docuents in the folder just 'disappear' so the only option is"organize them by folder", which is not in a logical order!)Thank you very much!KarlaHey Kaka1004,
With arrange by: option set for the folder, try to set the sorting: option for the name. You can do this by using the context menu or by following these steps:
- Open the folder in question
- Press Alt + V on your keyboard
- Click on organize by
- Click the folder
- Press Alt + V on your keyboard
- Click on sort by
- Click on the name
Hope that helps.

I have a lot of issues of brand book with websites contained in each folder. I'm able to sort sites within each folder alphabetically by name, but I can't find a way to sort the records themselves in alphabetical order by name. I speak not in a display mode, but in how they appear when I click on the tab my favorites. Can someone explain to me how to do other than manually by dragging because it is extremely difficult for me, due to the fact that I am with limited movement tetraplegic hand dexterity
Folders of bookmarks you created are in the folder Menu bookmarks. "Sort" this folder.

Selections of files, do not sort in alphabetical order
No apparent reason, when I add new playlists (regular, not 'smart') to existing folders, iTunes has stopped to sort them alphabetically but sticks just at the end of the list. Any added before today is always sorted as it should be (in alphabetical order). I have the latest version of everything. Suggestions gratefully received...
Thank you
