• Mirage Pivot fails when you are using software that replaces the Windows Login (GINA) as Imprivata

  When you try to perform a migration recently at a client site the pivot process has not completed as planned because of Imprivata. Imprivata is a SINGLE sign that seems to replace the Windows GINA and provides a custom login screen.

  During an attempt of the Pivot process (Mirage 4.3) the start of Windows Update screen does not appear and the standard Windows login is displayed. When you manually login customer Mirage shows the USMT process is underway. This allows users to log in and is generally not the process but it does not complete the USMT process and join the domain.

  This is due to the customer Imprivata, although we suspect that would happen with any product which replaces GINA of Windows.

  Workaround solution:

  We are uninstalling the client of the base image Imprivata and try to apply this to be an application layer or display the migration script.

  Has anyone else had this problem with a SINGLE sign or a custom GINA solution?

  We have removed Imprivata and the process worked ok. We are now reinstall using the post migration script that works

• I would like to know how to remove a video that replaces the logo of firefox on my site because I don't want to see it.

  I'm not a web programmer and just wish that the video that Firefox has superimposed instead of their usual logo on my homepage of the browser would leave. It seems that every time I access the Web page, replacing the simple logo. I don't want to continue to see the image in place of the logo. Is it possible that I can safely remove the overlay of video image shows two women of my homepage or have Firefox remove? I haven't watched the video and do not want to look at it, there is no point to make here. I like to keep my navigation very simple and clean interface.   The best way to get around that is just to create your own home page and do not use the 'default' on: homepage.

  I tried to install a wireless adapter USB on my laptop, but I can't seem to get the driver from the installation CD files to load.  I have no problem loading and use of the adapter on my desktop. They are in C:\winnt\system32.  On my laptop (Dell Inspiron 700 m, running the same WinXP Pro, SP3), no there no. C:\winnt folder. This would explain why the CD with the driver files will not charge in the computer and so why the adapter won't work. Why would this file be C:\winnt... not being on my laptop using the same operating system? It would be possible that Dell to have intentionally omitted when they loaded 'their version' of XP?

  Some XP system files in C:\WinNT store computers, and some store in C:\Windows .  I don't think that the difference due to the problem with your wireless network card.

  The driver installation should ask Windows XP where to install the files, using the value of the environment variable SystemRoot .  Its value, click Start > all programs > Accessories > command prompt , type the following command and press enter :

  echo % SystemRoot %

  That shows the Manager of devices for the network adapters?  The wireless card is installed, and it has a driver installed?  There are some unknown devices?

  I recommend to try this:

  1. click on START
  2. click on "Control Panel."
  3. double click on "Add/Remove Programs".
  4. Select "Office 2003" and click on replace {or} remove "."
  5 Select this option to repair the installation, and follow the installation wizard
  6. after the repair, restart your computer and then try to update Office

  I intend to upgrade the HD in my macbook pro (non-retine) mid-2012. I've got el capitan, MS office and Adobe CS installed. What I have to do something for the MS & Adobe software before I update. I don't want to lose my licenses for this software when I update the hard drive. Any help much appreciated.

  Depending on the version of Adobe CS, you can disable your copy before you proceed with the migration.

  Need to reinstall all the software for non-native Mac (OS 10.9.1) at a MacBookPro 2009 vintage, I had installed Firefox v. 27. As I tried to connect to the web links (which many were not problematic), I started gradually to meet the pages that would never load. Then I got a similar behavior with URL entered manually (only some; gradually more frequent). I had installed some standard modules of privacy, but I uninstalled then them. I tried to reset Firefox without result. I freshly reinstalled (or so I thought) nothing works. I tested the performance against the native Safari and initially had some problems but could access certain websites. At the point where I realized I should do a clean removal of Firefox, I was no longer able to access to any site of Mozilla in any way, except the Help menu on the installed copy and who wouldn't let me download a new copy of v.27. I was able to access a CNet Firefox download page, and he agreed than an interrupted download request but each test (5). I'm hoping to learn a way (may need to be drop the a v. 27 dmg, but hope not) to return to the operation.

  I am also successfully to access the download sites. I think that it is now OK. Thanks a lot for the replies and suggestions. The firewall seems to have been it.

  You need not register to speed up your PC, registry is an important part of the system, and you should not change it and it is better than not using any which registry cleaner. Instead, you can use free tools in Windows to speed up your PC, including:

  (1) defragnment

  clean the disc 2)

  check the disk 3)

  And also update your Windows and full-body scan with anti-virus and also to remove programs that you don't want to add/remove programs in Control Panel. I also suggest that take a look at:

  You don't need the old installed software but it takes the serial number of the old software - this will be asked as "qualifying product".

  Probably (but not necessarily) find that the installation removes the old version.

  I want to order a new ddrive hard (640 GB) and replace the software and drivers. I found an order replcement for $30 + to replace the drivers and software for windows 8.  I get the new software to replace the information on a new hard drive, or do I have to order a new package of windows 8?

  Where do you find the replacement for $30 +? What is a recovery of HP? A resumption of HP will be Windows and drivers for your computer that lets you bring your machine back to factory settings.
