Always a single processor, processor two core stays at or near 100%

Always a single processor, a two processor core stays at or near 100% with no application and only MS services has helped start. The visuals attached to performance. Clean install of Win 7 Pro less than a month ago. 4 GB of RAM. Resources, illustrated with the system/NT kernel using 50% of the capacity of the CPU (or 78% + CPU).

Lot of window dressing (pun intended) answers, but no reason for the problem and how to fix actually.

Hi JS Carey,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forum. I understand that a CPU remains at 100%. I would like to help solve you the problem.

1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

2. what security software is installed?

3. is the computer connected to a network domain?

To resolve this issue, follow these methods:

Method 1.

Execute this resolution of performance problems and check the status.

Difficulty of Windows system performance slow computer problems: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/slow_windows_performance/en-us

Method 2

Start the computer in safe mode and check the status.

Advanced startup options (including safe mode): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Method 3.

Run a full scan of the computer with the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is virus-free.

Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

Method 4.

I suggest that you can exercise SFC scan and check if that helps. The SFC/SCANNOW command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

  • A CPU 100% used by the core - System Idle shows nearly 100%

    Almost every day after execution, for several hours, my computer will slow down to where Visual Studio is almost unusable. When I go to the Task Manager, it shows one CPU maxed out. When I go to the process tab it shows that System Idle Process is anywhere from 87 to 94%. When I turn the Show kernel times a CPU becomes completely red. When I go to the overview of the resources there is no activity for page memory faults, no network activity and very little disc activity (0 KB/s up to 5 = 48 KB / s). Any idea of what is causing all my cpu to be gnawed by the kernel? Is it possible to find out more details on what process kernel does this?

    Thanks for all the great links, I don't know that I'll use them in the future.  However, even if I had no proof, I decided to replace the hard drive. I cloned the existing hard drive (so all the problems of software remains the same) and the problem is now gone.

    Hey guys

    I'm looking for a little clarification on an issue with parrell treatment in LabView. If I have a dual processor with two 4 core CPU computer will be able to access all 8 cores in the LabView environment. I presume he can use carrots that can see the operating system?

    Thanks for the help,

    Tom

    Norbert B has written:

    It is the work of the operating system that applications may use all of the hearts, if necessary. So for the application itself, it should make no difference if the system (hardware) is MultiCPU, multicore, or even simply Hyperthreaded...

    Norbert

    It's true, but I would like to add my 5 cents here.

    Lets say, if you have a simple loop like

    While (true) {}

    do something

    }

    then OS will get a chance to run in multiple threads. So you get max 12.5% CPU load to 8 core PC or 50% max on dual core PC.

    I have dual core PC now and allows to check:

    Thus, as we can see - 50% CPU load reached (a single core charge more, but its a different story).

    Well, if we are going to use two while loops, then we will get 100% load:

    Of course, if you need to load all 8 cores, you should have 8 parallel loops.

    Compare BD above with the following:

    We have two functions of minmax table and they independently, but we have only 50%.

    Well, you can get also the 100% CPU utulization inside while loop. In th example below, you have two sub - VI, who called in the same loop:

    Here we have 100%. Important, these screws must be reenterant!

    See what happened if they reeenterant not:

    Now a little about the Vision. Most of the SubVIs Vision behind are DLL calls. Some features of Vision already optimized for the multicore performance. For example, the convolution:

    On the comic above, we have a simple loop with a Subvi, but two cores are used (convolute itself already optimized for the core multi car).

    Remember, not all functions of Vision optimized yet. For example, low-pass still single-threaded (compare this BD BD above):

    Of course, we can use multi hearts - just perform a parallel execution (you must split the image for both parties, and then to unite and so on):

    Remember, SubVIs must be reeentrant, and all calls DLL must be thred safe (not in the UI thread). Also good idea to stop debugging in such experiences to eliminate the additional CPU load.

    Another point on 8 cores. As far as I know, LabVIEW (and application on LabVIEW) will support only 4 cores within a default delivery system (at least before LabVIEW 2009). If you have need for all 8 cores, then you must add a few lines in LabVIEW.ini. See the thread next where you can find more details:

    Interpolate 1 d slow on computer 8 hearts

    Hope that everything written above was correct.

    Thanks for reading and best regards.

  • Licenses for single processor in a server dual socket

    Hi, I keep getting conflicting information regarding the authorization of a CPU socket server two filled with a single processor. The question is what I have to concede to the number of available sockets on a given server even if not all are met? For example, if I have a server for 2 sockets with a single physical processor installed, can I get a license ESX Server for a processor or two outlets available?

    I thought that strategy was changed in 2008, according to the statement of VMware (link below), but one of my colleagues contacted VMware support this last July asking this question and I was told that each outlet available should be allowed regardless of if they are populated with a processor.

    VMware uniprocessor license policy

    It is a new implementation of Enterprise vSphere 4.1 on compatible servers HCL with centralized authorization.

    Thank you

    You will need the licenses by "processor in a socket.

    of http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/vsphere_pricing.pdf

    Capacity of the CPU

    Each kit of vSphere or edition is allowed on a per processor basis,

    Depending on the number of physical processors (CPUS) on each host.

    In the case of the kits of vSphere, the payment listed for the capacity of the CPU

    discussed later in this document applies to more than one host.

    Visitors can buy and deploy or redeploy any combination of servers,

  • PowerEdge T610 maximum RAM with single processor

    Hello

    I would like to know is Server PowerEdge T610 capable of supporting some 196 (12x16Go) GB of RAM with Intel Single Xeon E5645 2.40 GHz processor?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    Stanley

    Not a chance.

    The T610 supports 192 GB ONLY with the populous processors AND the latest version of the BIOS.  The reason is that the memory controller is on the processor, so if you have only one populated, while half of the slots in the system memory can be used - six locations associated with the populous processor.  With a single processor, 96GB (6x16Go) is the maximum.  More old BIOS do not support 16 GB DIMMS, so remember to update the BIOS (and other firmware system) BEFORE the update to any configuration using 16 GB DIMMS.

  • Dynamics Processor Calc does not reach more than [100] ESM blocks during the calculation, please increase the CalcLockBlock setting, and then try again (a small data cache setting can also cause this problem, check the size of data cache setting).

    Hello

    Our environment is Essbase 11.1.2.2 and work on Essbase EAS and components of Shared Services. One of our user tried to execute the Script of Cal of a single application and in the face of this error.

    Dynamics Processor Calc does not reach more than [100] ESM blocks during the calculation, please increase the CalcLockBlock setting, and then try again (a small data cache setting can also cause this problem, check the size of data cache setting).

    I did a few Google and found that we need to add something in the Essbase.cfg file as below.

    Dynamics Processor Calc 1012704 fails to more blocks ESM number for the calculation, please increase the CalcLockBlock setting, and then try again (a small data cache setting can also cause this problem, check the size of data cache setting).

    Possible problems

    Analytical services cannot lock enough blocks to perform the calculation.

    Possible solutions

    Increase the number of blocks of analytical Services can allocate to a calculation:

    1. Set the maximum number of blocks of analytical Services can allocate at least 500.
      1. If you are not a $ARBORPATH/bin/essbase.cfg on the file server computer, create one using a text editor.
      2. In the essbase.cfg folder on the server computer, set CALCLOCKBLOCKHIGH to 500.
      3. Stopping and restarting Analysis server.
    2. Add the command SET LOCKBLOCK STUDENT at the beginning of the calculation script.
    3. Set the cache of data large enough to hold all the blocks specified in the CALCLOCKBLOCKHIGH parameter.

    In fact in our queue (essbase.cfg) Config Server we have given below added.

    CalcLockBlockHigh 2000

    CalcLockBlockDefault 200

    CalcLockBlocklow 50

    So my question is if edit us the file Essbase.cfg and add the above settings restart services will work?  and if yes, why should change us the configuration file of server if the problem concerns a Cal Script application. Please guide me how to do this.

    Kind regards

    Naveen

    Yes it must *.

    Make sure that you have "migrated settings cache of database as well. If the cache is too small, you will have similar problems.

  • can perform us two actions with a single button in two clicks, one after the other?

    Mr President.

    can perform us two actions with a single button in two clicks, one after the other?

    I want that when I click on the button Add once it add data to the database and when I click again on this button it clears the form data to the empty fields.

    Concerning

    Tanvir

    In the code, it should be easy.

    The following code adds that a button called butman with text 'ADD '.
    It then registers a listener that will be called if the user clicks the button.

    This listener then calls the runAddData method if you clicked butman while it contained the text of "ADD" and it calls the runClearData method otherwise.
    That's why he will swap the functionality of the button between ADD and CLEAR on each click.

    final Button butman = new Button("ADD");
    butman.setOnAction(new EventHandler() {
              @Override
              public void handle(ActionEvent t) {
                        if (butman.getText().equals("ADD")) {
                                  butman.setText("CLEAR");
                                  runAddData();
                        } else {
                                  butman.setText("ADD");
                                  runClearData();
                        } // END IF-THEN
              }});

    I hope that's what you wanted.

    Further reflection.
    You might want to run the ADD and CLEAR methods in their own son so that it can run in the background without slowing down your user interface.

    I also reuse rather a single button for several features instead of to apply with hundreds of nodes used only rarely with masses of code to show and hide as needed.

  • My Satellite L750D went from a dual core to core single processor

    In may, I noticed that my laptop is running slowly. I asked for help from another forum and they suggested that I downloaded a program called Speccy. After the execution of this program, I have used before, I noticed that the CPU was only using a kernel. This could be great for a regular user, however, I need my laptop for the work of the University that I am a networker.

    I had to change Windows 7 settings easier to get a decent performance from him. I'm used to be able to watch videos full HD from my hard drive on my laptop with worries. Now, he hardly plays the same movies.

    Hello

    S core CPU multiprocessing can be enabled and disabled in the BIOS.

    The option can be found in the BIOS-> power management tab and it is called multi-Processing CPU
    If it s activated, all the processor cores will be used.

    In addition, don't forget that dynamic CPU frequency mode is switched to the dynamic switch

    If this option is enabled, the consumption of power of processors and automatic clock speed switching functions are active.

    Hello

    Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

    You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    1. Open the Firefox Options (Preferences on Mac or Linux) as follows:

      • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

        then select Options Preferences on Mac or Linux, or Windows.

      • In 28.0 Firefox and earlier versions, click on the Firefox orange upper-left button, then select the 'Options' button or, if there is no button up Firefox, go to tools > Options.
    2. In the window of Firefox Options (or preferences), click on the Advanced tab, and then select general.
    3. You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    4. Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

    In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

  • What drivers are needed for windows 7 recognize a system with 4 processors, dual-core?

    I have a HP ProLiant DL580 G4 with the following CPU specifications:

    Four dual-core processors Intel Xeon 7140 M. All of them identical, but the specifications can be found here

    I'm running Windows 7 ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise, but the recognition of all the 4 physical processors is a MUST.

    I can run windows on it very well, but he acknowledges that 2 of the 4 physical processors.

    It seems it would be a driver issue, as Device Manager shows two devices having the status of 'unknown '.

    If it is, in fact, a driver problem, does Microsoft have all the drivers available, or shall I seek third party?

    I would appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you!

    I hope that someone will know better, but (from the search), so it seems that it only supports two:

    "Computers with multiple processors (CPU):
    Commercial servers, workstations and other PC high-end may have multiple physical processors. Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise and integral allow two physical processors, offering the best performance on these computers. Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic and Home Premium edition recognizes only a single physical processor. "

  • WinXPx64 6core i7 machine running a single processor. Is winXPx64 a multiprocessor system?

    OS WinXPx64, the Intel i7 6core, 2xATI over-pants 2450, 12 GB DDR, 1 TB of HARD drive.
    I heard that Windows XPx64 OS was a SMP support bone, but when the system using Cacheman 7.1 monitoring and execution of the trading platform of Ninjatrader 6.5 I see one processor CPU manages the data and all other core sporadically lower than 11% data processing.
    Complex system runns platform Ninjatrader very well, but when I open a profile chartting that consumes about 3.5 GB of DDR memory, only processors core is doing ALL the work and the system hang.
    If it is 'Idea' of Microsoft to an acceptable method of multiprocessor manipulation it sorely lacking, big time.

    Windows XP Professional x 86 & x 64 are the two able multiprocessors.  Please note that multi-core is not the same thing as multiprocessor and all versions of Windows XP manages the multi-core as logical processors processors and that they can manage and make use of multiple cores.  Please note that Cacheman is nothing else that snake oil and powder would be better without this useless application (it does that push code and data on labor sets in the pagefile, productively enough silly and contrary to 'improve' the memory usage!).

    The request must be written correctly to make effective use of multiple cores or multiprocessor, according to software publishers that NinjaTrader 6.5 is not fully optimized to take full advantage of the multi-core or multi processors.  On their web site:

    [Quote]

    NinjaTrader 6.5 supports multi-core/multi-multiprocesseur material. Internally, NinjaTrader supports multiple threads of executions, which would be managed by the Windows operating system on different cores/processors. However, NinjaTrader 6.5 is not optimized to make full use of material multicore / multiprocessor.

    NinjaTrader 7 comes with optimized multi core/multi-multiprocesseur support. Please see the link below for more information.

    General application performance
    This is an area that we spent a lot of time on the preparation of NinjaTrader 7. We re-written the basic sections of the application to be more efficient in terms of memory usage and CPU usage.

    However, due to the nature of the operating system Window, NinjaTrader 7 would not be able to use fully all the available multi-cores/multi-processors at some point.
