Am I safe to delete the files marked as $NtUninsta in Windows NT?

'C' IS COMPLETE AND WINNT STORED DURING a CONCERT OF THE $NtUninsta FILES. I'M SURE TO DELETE THESE? Thank you

However...

There are a number of things you can do to- temporarily - free up disk space.  The only real solution, however, is to get a bigger internal hard drive.   You can use an external hard drive, but if it is used to store the data that you use frequently, slower access times may annoy you.  Therefore, I do not recommend that you move your My Documents folder in its entirety on an external drive, but you can certainly do this by following the related instructions.

  • You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
  • You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
  • You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
  • You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
  • You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)

But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long.  The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.

In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space and seem to so indicate what files you must move it to your external drive.  If you want to move an application, you will need to uninstall and then reinstall it specifying your external drive as the installation location.  You can not simply move the files.

Nothing in the Windows or Program Files and files their subfolders should be left alone.  You won't earn a significant amount of disk space, and you may cause to yourself untold trouble sleeping herein.  Use instead the provided Windows Disk Cleanup.  You can get to it by clicking on start-> computer, then click on the C: drive and click Properties.  On the general tab, you will see disk cleanup.  Use it and you will be safe (and not sorry).  Everything you personally placed on the computer can always be removed of course as long as you do not try to remove installed manually the software (use the programs and features in the control panel for this).

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

  • Can someone tell me what I should type in the screen command prompt to access the setupapi log so I can delete the files that stops me reinstall windows xp?

My dell PC crashed then I followed the news online & tried to reinstall windows XP from my original CD. However, the keyboard & mouse stop working when the installation gets to the 33 minute section which requires me to a box on the screen. I saw tips online who says lets you check the setupapi log & delete the file question (s) that prevents the installation but it required that use you SHIFT & F10 to enter the command prompt screen, but my keyboard is isolated at this time. • Is it safe to delete the file$ $NtUninstallKB2718704?

There are so many files under the directory of the window.

I would like to know if it is safe to remove them manually or not.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions :>

    C:\WINDOWS

    $NtUninstallKB2718704$

    $NtUninstallKB2719985$

If your PC behaves properly, you can remove hidden files fix for Windows backup in WINDOWS folder, whose names begin with $NTUninstallKB. Be aware that once they are removed you will not be able to uninstall the updates they represent. Remove only the $NTUninstallKB files that relate to corrections, not those for applications such as Word, WMP, etc.. In addition, DO NOT DELETE THE folder$ $hf_mig.

Just in case you need it, copy the files on a CD/DVD to enable their restoration if a correction needs to be uninstalled later. Now delete the folder \WINDOWS, but leaves the orphan entries to add / remove programs intact.

  • It is safe to delete the files under C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download

My C drive is full and I went through the cleaning process several times.  I noticed that all the files day added on drive C under C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download.  Can I safely delete these files?  They add up to 100 to 200 MB per day.

    Hello

The "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution" folder is where the updates are stored.

There are views mixed in all areas on the deletion of this file, but my opinion is that if you stop the automatic updates, delete the folder and then restart automatic updates who works and who has worked several times before for me.

  • Is it safe to delete the files associated with an event

    Original title: registry files

I use Windows 7 on a computer hp laptop 64 bit. If I type cc in the search box, I get 4 references for example cc 20140111 222014 in a list of the files in the registry. I guess that the 20140111 refers to an event that took place on 11 January this year and the other 6 digits are a point of Ref file. Can someone tell me what they are and if they can be removed safely. If so, how. I ask because at that time, I had a series of infections and wonder if they are leftovers from the problems. I have also another file that cannot open the windows and I have no idea what it can be. It has a cccOfa1b9f86f reference & b3. What is - this and it has no connection with the others. If so, it should be removed and if so, how. I'm a bit worried as to whether anything can either have been "planted" in my systems although I ran the Scanner from Microsoft and its found nothing. CC seems a strange thing to get, probably, there was a reason?

In C:\Documents&Settings\username\, there is a hidden folder named Local Settings, and to whom a Temp folder with many files. It is safe to delete these files?

Yes.  In fact, if you are using disk cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr.exe > OK) it will delete all files in this directory that have been consulted at least 7 days ago.

You can go directly to this folder by typing the folder in the start menu > run box and click OK.

  • Is it safe to delete the original score after successful cloning?

I have a Mac mini mid2010. I swapped his optical drive to an SSD. Then I cloned the operating system partition and everything works perfectly. My question is whether it is safe to delete the original "Macintosh HD" that I cloned, or if there is a way to keep its files being accessible if I don't get them mixed up.

    Thank you

Delete the old folder on the internal drive home page only. I should leave everything alone in case you need to boot from this drive. However, in general, it is safe to reformat the hard drive. But it depends on what you plan to do with it.
