  How long did you receive these error messages?   Did you change your operating system before thses errors?  All new software/hardware installed or new Windows updates?

  It seems that a dll is missing. You can fix it easily if you have a vista bootable disk.  Just boot from the disk and click on repair your computer and then click on start option repair and it will do the rest.

  You should do this;

  I just had the same thing happen. lost a lot of files. most is saved but we just moved and my backup HD are still packed. seems that there is a major conflict. check the file sizes in the main files, they are big like my files are there, but when I go down the root more that they are not and the file sizes in these folders don't add to the main folder above? I hope they are just invisible but recoverable. anyone with recommendations.
