  I am running Vista on a Satellite P100-160 and you just install Office 2007. Initially, Outlook work very well and then changed to send only messages but not get it back. I tried to uninstall and reinstall but no improvement. I know that the server settings are very well because I can run from another machine on the same home network and download the mail.

  I also have Norton security on the computer and I wonder if somehow the Port used to download mail (110) may be blocked. Someone else had this problem or any suggestions on how to fix.

  As a last resort I clean the entire disk and re-install from the product recovery disc and see what happens.

  POP accounts delete e-mail server when downloaded by the mail client.  The option to keep on the mail server was introduced later.

  Just a suggestion. You have Norton Password Manager?  Seems that it is no longer supported and has a conflict with Hotmail which will not fix itself.

  When I opened TBird it downloads the e-mail from my old default account only. This problem started when I added a second account and it's my fault. Once that TBird is open if I click on "Get the message" l Thunderbird gets my email to my old defaultaccount only. I have to click on to get the Messages and use the arrow to select each account. For more info, I use a global Inbox and all of my mail goes to 'Local Folders'. If I remember well when I started using TBird somewhere in account settings, there is a checkbox that says download or pick up the mail account when getting mail. (Something to that effect. from TBird v2 or so.) I couldn't find this option when I searched for it in the account settings, I have TBird 37...
