An iMac 27 "by air

Hello

I need to transport my iMac 27 "from Paris to Johannesburg by plane (Air France). Could someone advice me on the safest way to do this?

Thank you!

The safest method is to pack in the original box in which he shipped and then see if you can wear it. If you can't do that I would send it by carrier of trust to the destination. I have not would allow him to be put in the luggage on a commercial aircraft.

  • I have Lightroom on my iMac and MacBook Air, I just new MacBook Pro, all migrated to Pro air but will not work Lightroom until I have disable it on the Air.  HOW CAN I DO THIS?

I have Lightroom on my iMac and MacBook Air, I just new MacBook Pro, all migrated to Pro air but will not work Lightroom until I have disable it on the Air.  HOW CAN I DO THIS?

There is no such thing as disabling Lightroom 5.7. Just uninstall the software.

Looks like you have installed 6 Lightroom on two of your computers (including the MacBook Air). In this case, you must find and launch Lightroom 6 (not Lightroom 5.7 or any other version of Lightroom 5) on the MacBook Air and then in the menu help, select logout.

  • AirDrop only works one way between iMac and MacBook Air

    Hello

Surely I can't be the only one with this problem. I searched online help and followed all of the suggestions, but nothing works. I can AirDrop OF my MacBook Air (OS X Yosemite, mi 2013 construction) to the iMac (OS X El Capitan, end 2013) almost 100% of the time, but NOT vice versa. The iMac won't discover the MB Air. I even tried "find an old MAc" - no go. Drop settings are as well 'discovered by everybody' and the privacy settings firewall does not block incoming signals.

Does anyone have a solution to short to go to the Genius bar?

    Thanks for your help, Cinilla

You use a third-party software that modifies the behavior of the trackpad or Magic Mouse, such as "BetterTouchTool" or "MagicPrefs? If so, please, turn it off, then log off or restart the computer and test.

  • For iMac and Macbook air wifi Extender

I have a desktop computer of iMac 21.5 2010 that has a wifi router internal so that I can connect to my ISP of my 2011 Macbook Air 11 '' in the bathroom, just downstairs, and another room in almost 20 m further down. However, I fear that my connection on my Macbook Air speed decreases considerable distance increases my iMac. Actually in my studio which is attached to the back of my garage and about 30 m from the iMac I don't get any wifi signal at all. I wonder what the best solution is to increase the strength of the wifi in the House and outdoors workshop.

My iMac is connected to an ipstar modem that receives my broadband connection to a satellite dish on my garage wall. Connection wireless or ADSL broadband is not available in our location away from the New Zealand.

I'd appreciate any help that anyone can give me.

    See you soon

    Roger

The concern is with the latter: access to the iMac through the modem connection.

  • How to synchronize Adobe on my iMac and Macbook Air

    Hello

I just ordered a Macbook Air. I'll get it next week. My main goal is to make a montage LR and PS in my spare time to work and when I travel. I would like to know how I should put up the files so I don't lose the changes I make in my Macbook when I reconnect to my iMac. Is there something special I need to do? Should I keep my catalogs on Dropbox or in iCloud, for example?

Currently I have an iMac end 2013. I keep the files on a drive external HARD, catalogues on the iMac and return them both up to TM. When a picture is how I like it, I burn it to a disc. I don't know how I should adjust my workflow using two different computers.

Save it to a common place, probably in the cloud, in the creative space cloud or in the drop-down list. Take care to keep files up-to-date on both computers.

  • I have a design program on my iMac and Air. I want to transfer a file between the two, but it's in a format that it cannot open any applications. Can I transfer it somehow between the two?

I have a version software Punch Home Design compete 17.5 on both my iMac and my Air.It saves files in my office as a .dxf file. I want to transfer the file to my Air, but nothing opens a .dxf file, including the Dropbox App Home Design is without help. Is it possible to just connect the two computers and share the file? It offers 3D features that I want to show a customer without making them come to my office and look at my big mac. The two computers are on 10.11.3, so what counts.

I don't understand how a program that works and which saves .dxf files can open them but CADintosh can open the .dxf files.

  • Can I use the Time Capsule wireless for multiple computers without using it as a router?

I am looking for an external backup for 2 computers drive.  I have a desktop iMac and MacBook Air.  I like the idea of being able to back up my MacBook Air wireless, but I need to make sure that it will work the way I need to.

I already have a wireless router that works well for me, I don't need the time Capsule to act as a router. I'm just needing a wireless backup drive.  So, the question is, can I use the only time Capsule as a storage device for backup of wifi or do I also have to use it as a wifi router?  My fear is that the router service is not as good as the router, I currently have.  I live in a big House of 2 floors, making it very difficult to receive a strong signal throughout the House.

can I use time Capsule only as a backup wireless storage device or do I also have to use it as a wifi router?

Time Capsule need to connect to your router/modem existing using wired Ethernet wired, permanent.

If you plan to use the time Capsule to back up your Mac with the help of the application Time Machine on every Mac, the Mac will have to save on the wireless signal Time Capsule for the process to be officially supported by Apple.

While it is possible to turn off wireless on the Time Capsule and try to save it to your existing wireless network... and it pourrait work... but there will be no Apple support backup problems... so it would be a good idea to plan to use Time Capsule wireless backup purposes.

  • iCloud only

My 6 +, iMac and iPad Air 2 all were sync very well: reminders, calendar, facetime, etc. all three devices.  Can I update to iOS for more later (including last weekend patch).  Now things don't synchronize via iCloud.  Where should I start the debugging process?

That means that they don't synchronize via iCloud.

We cannot help with so little information from you. To help solve the problem, we need as much information as possible:

What OS X running on your Mac?

What you expect to see "sync" Although iCloud that you don't see?

  • Time Machine does not work after update of the Sierra

The time function machine my Mackbook Air 2011 stopped working... it has not been saved since update for Sierra, it only take screenshots every hour, it will perform a backup is no longer on my external HD as before.

There is no problem with the way it is implemented or the hard drive, it's me that my iMac is working perfectly since the update for Sierra and it's backup via the time machine on the same hard disk.

It is a hard drive and put in place I was in use for about 5 years with no problems.

Also since the update for Sierra I noticed that my MacBook Air gets hot and the fans go wild, although there was nothing or performance other than the system is auto.

I lost the use of my built in camera after the update to El Capitan, and now I've lost the use of time machine... I was wondering if I should go back to Yosemite that everything worked well then!... is this possible?

Thanks for any help with this!

Update:-just so you know, time machine is to find the back up ok drive (external hard drive), it then goes to "preparing backup" and that's all, he remains in this preparation save the scene for centuries, after a while it just stops and it is saved all... nothing!

Also noticed when I checked in Time Machine full backup I have before update for Sierra disappeared, he disappeared, been deleted... I don't know what is happening with it!

Overall since the update for Sierra my MacBook Air did not work properly, in addition to all that Safari does not load, just to get the wheel spinning, and now (with the demise of my old back ups) it seems I can't go back to a previous state.

My Mackbook Air took it!... the last update took the camera and really Sierra in... material not compatible with all new software, none of the new features work on my iMac or MacBook Air (only Siri), so a useless upgrade for me really, wish I didn't!

  • Photos is compatible with El Capitan and Sierra?

I use my iMac and Macbook Air for the Photos. It is the main application that I use.

Updated the iMac with a 500 GB SSD and it runs very fast. No need to buy a new 1500 EURO apparatus. But it will only run Sierra. My Macbook Air can.

Both versions of the OS will be able to access the library shared photos, stored on my NAS?

    See you soon,.

    Ron

Unfortunately, no. This option is to have the two systems to iCloud library synchronization, which, in your case, would have to buy a larger quota of iCloud.
