Another STOP c0000135 WINSRV was not found problem

Hello.  I have a XP SP3 computer at work that would not start this morning.  The only new event the day before was Firefox update to version 9.  When I stopped this closure, it was a STOP c0000135 THAT WINSRV was not found error.  I looked at all the different solutions on the web and have had no success.  I used a UBCD4WIN boot CD to run the Recovery Console and run chkdsk/r.  I replaced files winsrv.dll user32.dll with different versions of the computer and another similar computer.  I ran fixboot, fixmbr and bootcfg/rebuild.  I tried to restore the registry, but it could not find a return to the top.  Last known good configuration does not work.  So my last hope is to ask if anyone of you more expert that I can think of another solution, another re - install windows.

Thank you.

Thank you very much for this.  I swapped the components of the registry, and it made no difference.  However, it led me to the real answer... (!)

I searched the system32\config folder and realized, of course, that the last time that the .evt files had been updated was when the computer was last working properly.  Research in the system log, I found this:

File replacement was attempted on the protected system file c:\windows\system32\usp10.dll. This file was restored to the original version to maintain system stability. The file version of the system file is 1.420.2600.5969.

Then there are similar entries for locale.nls and sortkey.nls sorttbls.nls.

Then

The system file c:\windows\system32\sortkey.nls could not be copied into the DLL cache.  The specific error code is 0x800b0100 [no signature was present in the subject.
].  This file is necessary to maintain the stability of the system.

Then

Sortkey.nls of the protected system file could not be restored to its original, valid version. The file version of the bad file is unknown the specific error code is 0x800b0100 [no signature was present in the subject.
].

Then another attempt on locale.nls.

Then the event log was arrested.

I looked on the hard drive, and sortkey.nls was absent from the system32 folder.  There was an oldsortkey.nls dated 2004, as well as two copies of sortkey.nls dated 2005, one in the system32/DLLcache folder and the other in a folder of service pack update.  Given the message on the DLL cache, I copied a 2008 dated from another similar computer file in the system32 folder, and the computer started fine several times, no problem.

So thanks to three of you for your help - I arrived in the end.

  • "Stop: c0000135" and "winsrv was not found" error

    Hello:

I'm working on my aunt's computer and she recently started having an error message when it tries to start his computer: "Stop: c0000135" and "winsrv was not found" error.  I can't start in safe mode because it just goes back to the blue screen and gives the same error.  She can't find the cd of 'restoration' and I can't find a windows XP CD created to boot from.  In addition, as info, she has not installed anything new recently.

However, I have access to a Windows 7 Cd, but as I understand it, this doesn't help me as much as a windows 7 CD won't work on an XP operating system.

I'm not very high technology, I just generally help solve problems by searching the Web for answers.

Can someone offer me some very specific steps to get his computer facing up and running, please?  Also, before doing anything that is suggested as I can and I have to back up his hard drive?  If so, how can I do that without possibility to connect to the computer?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

You can download a Windows XP recovery console (ISO) by http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig CD image

Once you have downloaded the files burning the image on CD. You can do this with a program like Imgburn. ImgBurn can be downloaded at http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download.

Once you have written the CD you must restart the PC and start the PC with the CD. To do this, you will need to change the boot order in the BIOS to start first with the CD player. To access the BIOS, usually press you on F2, F10 or DEL. (when you put the top PC tell XX press the button to enter Setup/BIOS). Once in the BIOS search the menu for something in the sense of "Boot Priority" or "First Boot Device" or "Boot Order". Once you've found the setting change so that the CD drive is the first boot device. Save the settings and exit the BIOS.

Now you can start the PC with the CD. If you get the message press any key to boot from CD - press a key.

After the Conference on Disarmament has started, you will get a menu on the screen. Press 'r' to enter the Recovery Console.

Follow the instructions on the screen. You will receive a list of the Windows Installations. Press '1' to connect to the Master Installation of Windows.

You will be asked to enter the administrator password. Enter it or leave empty if there is no password and press ENTER.

You should now be on the command line C:\Windows >

    Now type in

    CHKDSK c:/r

Press ENTER. Allow chkdsk repair disk errors, it can find.

    Once done type in

    CD system32

    Press ENTER. Now type in

    dllcache\winsrv.dll copy

Press ENTER. You should see a response saying that the file has been copied. (If one of these commands give a type error in the error in your next post).

If everything is successful in type

    Output

and press ENTER. Remove the CD and allow Windows to start normally.

It's always a good idea to make a backup of your important/emails etc documents before attempting to repair a PC (just in case something goes wrong). Because you do not have Windows, you will need to take the hard drive on your PC and attach it as a 2nd or slave hard drive on another PC work. This will allow you to see it as a drive E: or F: (or the next drive letter, it's free). You will then be able to copy the data on the hard drive of the computer to work.

    I hope this helps.

Edit: Afterwards, I know you said, nothing has been installed recently, but you might want to look at this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885523. The article describes the situation even after installation of SP2. Maybe the SP2 has been installed inadvertently through Windows update?

  • Blue screen: Stop: C0000135 {component impossible not found}

"Stop: c0000135 {Unable component not found}" this application was not to start because MSVCR80.dll. reinstalling the application may fix this problem. ' "

I don't know how to fix it... help please!

    I found a solution.

    (1) create a copy of the disk recovery AVG (http://www.avg.com/ww-en/226386)

    (2) start from the disc, then go to the file manager. Follow the same steps as in this thread: http://forums.avg.com/ww-en/avg-free-forum?sec=thread&act=show&id=94159 but instead to rename the .dll and .sys files, just navigate your programs (x 86) directory and rename the whole file of AVG to something else.

    (3) from there, just restart your machine and it should boot normally.

It is the best solution you will find until AVG releases a permanent solution.

    Hello

Start by performing a clean boot of the computer.

A clean boot is executed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This will eliminate the conflicts of software that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in 8.1 of Windows, Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

It is important that you refer to the section:
How to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting after you performed the clean boot to the computer in normal condition.

So I would suggest to check this article to- use the System File Checker tool to repair the missing or damaged system files.

Ideally, it is suggested to launch the scan 3 times to get the best results.

  • Error "this application has failed to start because normaliz.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Original title: error explorer.exe, Normaliz.dll is missing please help me about the issue.

    Hello

I get the error "this application has failed to start because normaliz.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem"Please help me!

Well - so much for the expertise of committed Microsoft Support Engineer 'experts', but no answer to what I expected.

See how it works for you:

If you see a message like this:

Explorer.EXE - unable to locate component: this application has failed to start because Normaliz.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

It is in the case Log:

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Application Popup
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 26
    Description:

Application popup: Explorer.EXE - unable to locate component: this application has failed to start because Normaliz.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Start explorer.exe, but the normaliz.dll file.  If explorer.exe is not able to run, you will not be able to do much with your system until the replacement of normaliz.dll.

You can click OK for errors and finished up in the Task Manager where you can try to fix it.  The message can keep popping up from time to time, while you're fixing it, so just click OK to close the message.

If normaliz.dll is missing, you can copy it from a working system to the system afflicted with the same version of XP and Internet Explorer.

You will get a good copy and put it on a floppy disk, thumb drive etc and copy it to your system plagued by using Manager tasks.

The normaliz.dll file must be located in the c:\windows\system32 folder and therefore is not a Windows file protected, making the Microsoft Support Engineer 'experts' suggest running sfc/scannow, which is just another one of their prosecution of wild goose that will not work, he'll never work and it will only waste your time (and they don't tell you how to run either - if explorer.exe does not start).

Then engaged Microsoft Support Engineer 'experts' will offer to you develop a copy of the file from the XP installation CD you probably haven't, but it is also not on your XP installation CD, and you will have the same problem try their suggestions to 'try' to start in any any Mode without failure, so this will not help you.  These "experts" seem to think that the Safe Mode boot or boot will replace magically missing files, but it doesn't.

You also will be able to properly run a browser on the system afflicted to go on Internet download one.

There is a large computer security risk in the normaliz.dll from some website download.  The best idea is to get a copy of normaliz.dll from another computer that has the same version of XP and IE and replace it from a USB device (which you can access from the Manager tasks), or using a system that works, you can download one of my SkyDrive.

You can still use the Task Manager to run the system restore and bring it back, but I've never tried and never use SR in all cases.

If you have recently done a bunch of Microsoft updates, you may have also gotten IE8 so maybe that something was wrong here although the normaliz.dll is the same for each version.

When you see the error, you can click beyond it and eventually arrived at your screen background image where you can press CTRL-ALT-DEL to start Task Manager. TM, you can click file, new task, Browse and edit the menu drop-down "Files of type" to all files that you can see all the files in folders.

Go to c:\windows\system32 to see if normaliz.dll is really missing. If the error appears again while browsing, just click OK to get past it.  The explorer.exe tries to run and cannot until the missing file is replaced.

If it's the only thing missing, you can get one from a working system of the same type as yours, copy on a Flash DRIVE or a floppy disk and always using TM, to browse, copy and paste it where it should be or you can download one of my SkyDrive.

TM, you can still access your thumb or any other medium the same disk by navigating, copy, paste, etc very well all work.  You use TM to navigate to your thumb or floppy disk, copy the normaliz.dll good and then paste it in the c:\windows\system32 folder, where it is supposed to be.

If things get worse, just return to TM and remove the file back where you were in first place and continue troubleshooting.

Using a system that works, you can also download a copy of the file from my SkyDrive and put it on a floppy or USB thumbdrive and networks diskettes for the distressed system.  Sandalenet means wear you the system afflicted by hand.

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/?CID=6a7e789cab1d6f39&ID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called normaliz when the name of the file should really be called normaliz.dll (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

That may not solve all your problems, but at least you will be spending this part and we can then fix the rest.

If you have not had luck in iTunes (https://discussions.apple.com/community/itunes/itunes_for_windows?view=discussions#/?tagSet=1234) forum, uninstall and reinstall iTunes as described below:

To perform a "clean" iTunes installation uses this technique proposed, from Support of Apple HT1926 article.  (If you are using Vista, see THIS instead).

Go to control panel > Add/Remove programs
Remove these applications in the following order (do not restart your computer if you are prompted during this process):

    1 iTunes
    2. Apple Software Update
    3. Apple Mobile Device Support
    4 Hello
5 Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)

    6. iPod for Windows (this may or may not exist, be it, it is not necessary, then we can remove it)

    7. iPod Updater

    8 QuickTime

Open my computer > C: > Program Files
    Delete these files (if present)
    1 iPod
    2 iTunes
    3 QuickTime

Follow these steps if the message "cannot delete iPodService.exe: it is used by another person or program" appears when you try to delete the folder of the iPod.

    1. Make sure that you have iTunes and iPod Update utility are not open.
    2. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete.
    3. Select Start Task Manager.
    4. Click the processes tab.
    5. Locate the iPodService.exe in the list.
    6. IPodService.exe-click and choose end process.
    7. Quit Task Manager.

    Empty your temp directory:
Open my computer > C: > Documents & Settings > username > Local Settings and delete the contents of the folder called "Temp".

If you don't see the local settings, enable hidden files:
Tools > Folder Options > view tab
Select Show Hidden Files & folder, and then click OK

Once this file is empty, restart the computer

NOTE: If you have trouble uninstalling applications, or if you have a problem, reinstall iTunes because the installer complains that it can not uninstall the current version of iTunes, see the 'Installation issues' section below.

Download & reinstall iTunes from here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

    Installation problems

There are several tools to deal with problems installing or uninstalling applications.  If you have these problems, the following should help.  Before using one of these tools (including #3), you must create a restore point from the system first (or back up the registry with C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT).  See http://windowsxp.mvps.org/registry.htm a complete disk image would be safer if you have this ability.

1 Microsoft has a program install and the resolution of the problems of the uninstalling which is supposed to "work better" and be "safer" to use the old Install Cleanup Utility (3 below).

    2. free Revo Uninstaller.  You can also download a trial version of uninstaller Revo's ' Pro', which has a few more aggressive cleaning options, but this should not be necessary.

3 Microsoft Windows Install Cleanup Utility.  Although this tool has been the preferred tool to deal with the problems of Windows Installer, Microsoft removed from Microsoft download servers because it seems sometimes deleted more than he was supposed to (I believe this was linked to Office uninstall).  You can still get Windows Installer Cleanup here--> http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html utility

    Hello

Are you able to play or open other CD or DVD?

Step 1: These error messages may be due to corrupted media. Try to use the same media on another computer and check if you are able to use it.

Step 2: Search for the issue in the clean boot state.

From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

    Reference:

    Hi kaixas,

If you are not able to start the computer in normal mode or in Safe Mode, I don't know how you would back up your information.

If you have no way to start the computer and no way to start the computer with the XP disc, you don't maybe not another option that recovery of the system.

If you back up your information, you can ask a friend if they have an external hard drive orjump drive to save your backup on that connects via the USB port.
