can I use malwarebytes pro & avg free together without conflicts

In theory, yes - but check the forums for both applications, you may need to change some settings.

You shouldn't have two major antivirus programs on the computer at the same time much less

is it possible to have all my anti virus/malware programs to all work together without one stop on the other?

    I doubt it.

You should never have more than one security product installed on the PC, providing active protection / scan. This can cause performance problems, system instability and conflicts between programs and can affect all installed antivirus product efficiency. Even if you try to have more than one product installed, with an asset and another disabled, disabled product will probably still active components and/or installation of the drivers installed that will conflict with any other antivirus program.

  • What is the prevalence of viruses, malware, etc., to be hidden and undetectable by anti-virus software?

    • As before, when my computer when my computer has been infected, I get a svchost.exe error, repeatedly, whenever I restart the computer. The infection has been discovered that the last time by my anti-virus software, because it was hidden.  It was a computer expert on this forum who told me my computer was infected by svchost.exe repeated error messages that I received.  I ran my Avast software, anti-malware software from MSFT Security Center, Win Defender, etc. this time, and it has detected no infections.  (Yes, I know what to do to pass this message means not necessarily my computer is infected, but the tech guy said that it is likely, given that the error message appeared on several occasions).  How detect and destroy the virus/malware hidden, etc?
    • Also, if anyone can answer another question... I was told that it is not recommended that I have two programs of anti-virus software, which I do - Win Defender and Avast (I guess they may conflict).  I tend to want to keep Avast, but would like to know if I have to keep Win Defender instead, because it is a Win a Win system program.  If I've got this me getting rid of one of them, is it recommended that I both uninstall and then reinstall one of them?

A person help would be appreciated!

    Thnx, Dharma

WHAT I HAVE: Win XP Media Center, MS Office 7 Professional (used at home), IE8, Outlook 7, HP w / 32-bit dual core processor, latest version of Avast & Win Defender, Srvc Pack 2 and 3 (although I know that I don't need 3 because I have not upgraded to Win 7, but it won't let me uninstall it!) and regularly updates Win.

PS Please ask questions if you have, before you answer, so it will be less likely that I'll get the wrong answers that don't relate directly my questions! (Can say you that has already happened?  (LOL).

You pouvez have a type of rootkit of malware infection.  Rootkits can transform and change of identity on your OS (and are difficult to detect and remove) and many computing professionals recommend a reinstall of the operating system in order to ensure that the rootkit is removed.

Follow the suggestions in the Brian - post.  The link that he provided is an excellent reference.   If you have a rootkit, TDSS Killer or one of the other programs listed pourrait be able to remove it.

    You can also:

You can get free help in the removal of malware from MS Support here: http://supportservices.microsoft.com/support/services/virus_malware_removal

If you are in North America, you can call the MS Support to 866-727-2338 for help with infections of virus and spyware.

For international information see your subsidiary local technical support site.

Or get assistance from Avast at: http://www.avast.com/support

You have SP3 on your Win XP OS and if you plan to switch to Win 7 make sure that your processor and RAM will manage Win 7... with your history of technology issues a reformatting/clean install of Win 7 would be a good idea.  Because of the possibility of conflicts, I do not recommend using Windows Defender with Avast or any other resident AV program.  Suggest uninstall you Windows Defender in Control Panel.  MSE and several other AV programs require the removal of Windows Defender in XP (or disabling the Defender in Vista and Win 7).

So, my computer has a virus moneypak and ontop of the said virus pro safety. And I can't download any anti-virus scan malware to get rid of them due to my failure of security scanning. So I went to check on my Microsoft Security databases to see what is happening, and it will not even open! However, it will not turn on, ive recently installed avg 8.5 (free), I never had no problem with the previous avg 7, could be something to do with the Defender w or w Firewall?, any help please.

    Hi murphmeister,.

Thank you for taking the time to post.

It is possible to Windows Defender and if that AVG has a Malware/spyware scanner, it can cause conflicts as it is recommended to have only a spy software put real-time protection. It is allowed to have several installed, it has simply not recommended to have the two together at the real time protection. It really depends what the following shows us.

    ·         Click on the Start Orb on the Office

    ·         Select Control Panel

    ·         Select Security Center (Classic view)

Under protection from malware it shows under the protection against viruses and software spies and other software malware protection?

Have you tried to reinstall AVG?

AVG seems to work; You can scan and access the program very well as far as you can tell?

The following steps will attempt to repair management Windows (WMI) Instrumentation which can cause the Security Center to see the average price before trying the following steps please make sure that you do not have a restore point of the current system.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/322756

    ·         Click on the Start Orb on the Office

    ·         In the Search box, type cmd (do not hit enter)

    ·         Right click on cmd.exe and select run as administrator

    ·         Type or copy the following that winmgmt /verifyrepository and press enter

    ·         We should get this message: "WMI repository is incompatible"

    ·         Type or copy the following winmgmt /salvagerepository and press enter (you may need to try this one a couple times)

    Please let us know.

  • I use Sophos Anti-virus and found Geneio and Kuklorist

I'm a newbie enough on Mac, having changed my PC a couple of years ago.  I don't have to download Sophos Anti-virus at the moment where I bought the iMac.  I have the OS X El Capitan, 10.11.4 edition.  I had very few problems until recently when I seemed to download a virus or a trojan.  I was actually going to favourable sites when it happened and happened twisted things and something came and said that I had downloaded a virus.  Don't know what the program which has been notified me.

It takes forever, forever, to run the anti-virus program Sophus, like 2 weeks to do (and it scans 2 external drives from 1 to 3 terabytes).

He did not find "viruses", but did fine "an item found" and "detected problems."  When I open the Quarantine Manager, he has a list of 109 separate lines (files) and named the whole Genieo thing.  All but two of the 109 lines have the extension "pdf.pronto" and are listed in my external hard drive (Seagate Backup Plus drive).  Both of which do not have the extension of pdf.pronto have ' macOS/appYM' and Kuklorist in line, like an uninstall and the other as "Application Support/Kuklorist".

I think I have maybe two? problems, as Genieo and Kuklorist, but that might have a single with two names.  I'm not sure.

A - J Sophos program could not automatically delete the files and told to remove them manually.  I have trouble finding a way to do it.  I looked in the community of Apple support and got a few suggestions more elderly (year 2014 and 2015), but cannot follow the steps (I can't use the Finder to locate the lines I should copy.)  I need help, anyone?

    Steve

Download and run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac:

  • Anti-Virus detects but removes no adware/malware

    Hello

    I have a Readynas RN102 with 6.4.1. firmware. I have more installed anti-virus. Today it started to detect Adware (W32 / Adware.DEZV - 3749 or NsCPUMiner32.exe) and Bitcoinminer Trojan (W64Adware.DEZV - 3749 - NsCPUMiner64.exe). Both were hidden in a file called Info.zip.

Because I couldn't see the files in the management web page / share (even when displaying of hidden files) I changed the anti-virus more to 'Action - Delete' setting and a scheduled scan. He had tested and found the files, but in log files, he repeats that I have to delete the infected file yourself.

many have said that too many anti-virus/anti-malware programs installed can damage these collide with one another, causing the programs may not run correctly and sometimes cause the computer hang very badly. So what programs shock/does not shock with another?

(eg. malwarebytes and norton are compatible)

It seems that your registry cleaner question has not been answered.

The so-called "registry cleaners" can aggravate a situation and take measures, we are manually updated on many times.
It is better not to rely on these programs, if you don't know what is happening with the proposed fix and the registry.
Otherwise, a change in the registry can make a system that no longer starts due to an error.

I managed to install the program Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and did a quick scan. I removed everything that was listed, restarted and it fixed the threat of the background, well. However, I noticed a slight change with the Google search box when I entered a keyword or search. It takes forever for the site to load otherwise, then it keeps looking like his endless. The interesting part is when I click on a link, it redirects me to a different site. A sure thing, I was unable to install Rkill.exe to a reason any during the process of safe mode networking or normal startup.

After that, I installed Spybot, did a scan and the results was very good. I also have avg antivirus and the results was good too.

Not really sure what is happening here, but someone at - he experiences the same thing? Did I miss something during the safe mode networking or was RKill.exe the last step to solve this problem?
