anti-malware and firewall issues

I read that it is possible for Symantec EndPoint Protection to perform analysis of disk offline with the vSphere vStorage API.

Where can I find documentation and instructions on this subject?

I'm working on a deployment of SEPT 11, the latest version, and it would be nice to have.

If not, maybe I have to install the client in virtual machines and alternate their analyses etc.

Of course our new file server / print VM-to-be, I'm going to install the client, I think.

Where can I find a good tutorial on setting up a 'firewall VM?

I need to know/learn how to configure the vSwitch, etc. as well.

I'll need to use a reasonably good "freeware" version because the virtual machines are all already behind a physical firewall, it would simply be an additional protection.

I saw a comment somewhere that could use pfSense, for example...

We have vShield Zones, which would be worth learning and help?

In addition, I should find and review of vSphere hardening once that I find documentation on this subject...

Thank you, Tom

Hello

I read that it is possible for Symantec EndPoint Protection to perform analysis of disk offline with the vSphere vStorage API.

Symantec already has a product that makes scans disk offline such as trend and McAfee, do not know how Symantec Endpoint that currently integrates.

Where can I find documentation and instructions on this subject?

Try the Symantec Web site.

Where can I find a good tutorial on setting up a 'firewall VM?

It depends on the firewall that you want to use one, so that we can better direct you. There's vShield Edge, vShield App, Altor VF3, Catbird vSecurity networks, reflex vTrust, vShield Zones, Smoothwall, m0n0wall, IPcop, vyatta, Checkpoint, etc, etc. If you encounter any problems, choose one, you will need to give us your vFW needs...

I need to know/learn how to configure the vSwitch, etc. as well.

In general nothing a lot get to the vSwitch, but it depends on which tool you use and mode that is, once more, must know the tool that you want to use.

I'll need to use a reasonably good "freeware" version because the virtual machines are all already behind a physical firewall, it would simply be an additional protection.

I saw a comment somewhere that could use pfSense, for example...

Looking at Smoothwall, IPcop, m0n0wall, pfSense, etc.. Here are several firewalls dashboard style.

We have vShield Zones, which would be worth learning and help?

Depends on your needs, in fact. vShield Zones is a firewall from area to area that resembles what you need, then yes it will work.

In addition, I should find and review of vSphere hardening once that I find documentation on this subject...

  • The Windows Security Center Service was unable to establish even queries with WMI to third-party antivirus monitor, anti-spyware and firewall.

Original title: do I have to re - install Windows 7?

Today, I opened the Action Center and noticed that Panda Internet Security reported he was off, when it wasn't.  I checked the administrative events and one of the errors was: Security Windows Service Center could be same queries WMI to monitor third party antivirus, antispyware and firewall.  I've got Panda IS 2012 running, which is a very good program.

I just spent a good hourzs little addressing a Panda technicina, who, after a lot of faffing autour, told me that I either set up a new profile, or I re - install Windows, I don't want to do, because I could lose the system restore facilities, (I had to ask Microsoft to help me address the issue of the restoration of the system because it did not work).  The problem with the Security Center Windows Service dates back to August 10, 2011.

Anyone know what I'd do, which involves having to uninstall and reinstall Windows?

    Kind regards

    Hello

    1. which parameter is used to install Panda antivirus?

2 did you use typical or custom?

If you use Panda IS 2012 as an anti-virus, then Windows Security Center may have disabled the native Windows Firewall, that does send a real-time alert. You can try shooting the alert and check.

Important: Select the security settings, once you have done to solve the problem.

You can also check the parameters of Panda IS 2012 to allow the automatic update and other necessary parameters.

To try to update manually, follow these steps:

un) right-click on the icon of Panda Global Protection 2012 on the taskbar

    (b) in the menu that appears, click Update to start the process

  • WinXP SP3: Security Center think multiple anti-virus and firewall (cleaning) are running when not.

It is after the removal of Security Tool virus.  I need to delete everything that is telling Windows (XP SP3) that there is a firewall and anti-virus (es) when they are not running.  I need to install real firewall and antivirus, but cannot.

Fixed a problem.  I found this on the Avira forum.  Use BartPE to rename \windows\system32\wbem\repository (to... repository.org, so that I could get back in the case where this caused problems).  Then restarted.  Now that the real firewall and anti-virus that run really show in Security Center.  The entrance to the forum suggested run services.msc and stop the WMI service, and then do the renaming.  However, the name change was denied, that's why I used BartPE - boy, this thing is a lifesaver sometimes!  I appreciate the help I received from those in this forum.     Thank you, Steve

  • TZ SOHO firmware update and firewall issues

    I just updated my SOHO to 6.2.5.0 - 25n

Now, I get an error when you try to add a firewall access rule.

It doesn't matter which service I use, I get an error. I've never seen these errors before and Ive worked with SonicWALLS years. Ive had this problem with an other sonicwall soho that I've upgraded to this version of the firmware. So, it has something to do with it.

Is there a setting I'm missing with the new firmware?

    error:

    • IPv6 zone: can't get the handle for Zone_Object_table 100
    • In area of IPv6: unable to get the handle to 0 of Zone_Object_table
    • Number of allowed connections (% of the maximum number of connections) in IPv6: Data Out of bounds (min = 1, max = 100).
    • Allow the capture of IPv6 packets: data are formatted incorrectly.
    • Excluded users in IPv6
    • Enable logging in IPv6: data are formatted incorrectly.
    • In IPv6 Policy Management: data are formatted incorrectly.

    Update, I've updated to: SonicOS Enhanced 6.2.5.1 - 26n

And have no problems. So the early release and earlier versions work better than the recommended version. Beware of this update if you make one.

    Hello Maria Boby,

    1. which version of the operating system is installed on your computer?

2 did you change on your computer before the show?

    3A this works much earlier?

A runtime error is a software or hardware problem that prevents a program to function properly. Runtime errors could cause you to lose information in the file that you are using, causing errors in the file (corrupt the file) so that you cannot work with it, or prevent you from using a feature. Unlike stop errors, errors lead usually Windows or a program to stop working.

  • Security issues with Microsoft Security essential and other anti-malware, anti-spyware programs

Hello, I would like you to help mewith the following questions...

Related to the question of the conflict between the programs microsoft security essential antivirus and antimalware bytes free (anti-malware) what is your opinion? Can they work together?
And a second question: can I have windows firewall turned on at the same time with another protection in real time from the anti-malware bytes and Super anti-spyware free software?
And the last question: what Windows Defender?
I disabled it in my computer, probably because I use Mr. S. Essential, is necessary in the 32-bit edition of Vista business with MSE and Antimalware running together?
    Thnx in advance...

Free Malwarebytes and Superantispyware Free cause no conflict with Microsoft Security Essentials.

    Keep Windows Firewall turned on.
You can't and don't need to use Windows Defender on Vista, when you use Microsoft Security Essentials.

Since you have posted in Forum Vista, I will assume that you are using the Vista operating system.

You can get this information by navigating to the 'Start' menu and selecting 'Security Center' in the 'Control Panel', then you should be able to see what is running (antivirus/antimalware) under the tab "Malware Protection".

  • Stop Internet connection malware and Anti-Malware software

Hello! I have a 2015 MacBook Pro that I use to the work of the College, as you can imagine, I have a lot of important information about this. That being said, I probably should be more careful by browsing the internet, but I have unfortunately seem to have fallen for a 'Java update' Malware thing and have successfully infected my laptop by malicious software.

After reading a few recommendations online, I downloaded MalwareBytes Anti-Malware free and he ran. It is is immediately detected the dangerous Malware and gave me the ability to clean my computer from harmful programs. After he cleaned my computer, it restarted and opened upward.

Not only does the Malware not go far, but it got worse: as soon as the screen is turned on, a bunch of windows appeared, with statements such as: "accountsd wants to use the"login"keychain." & "com.apple.iCloud.Helper.xpc wants to use the"login"keychain". These windows do not disappear when you press Cancel, and I'm afraid to put a password in while my laptop is still affected by the Malware.

Second, none of my browsers will connect to internet. Google Chrome is no longer loads all pages and now often needs to be force-leave out. Finally, MalwareBytes Anti-Malware won't open and it immediately passes "Application not responding" when opening.

Can someone please help me with a solution to this problem? It would be greatly appreciated.

If you have voluntarily or involuntarily exposed your computer to potentially dangerous software, you should consider a backup of your system and a reinstallation of the operating system as no single or multiple scan of your computer can completely provide an accurate assessment of what has been allowed to infiltrate your computer.
