Protected Internet mode is also disabled. Ive tried to understand the security settings with no luck.
What is the best way to reinstall the original state of this computer without the drama?
To restore your PC to an earlier point in time (prior to any changes you have made), you can use the system restore. See the link:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/What-is-System-Restore.

Hi orionsfist,
Microsoft Security Essentials is a free anti-malware to your computer. It helps protect against software viruses, spyware and other malware. :-) I use it at home and it works fine.

Windows Security Center tells me that my Anti-Spyware XP is not saved
My Security Center Windows tells me my Anti-Spyware XP is not registered and won't let me in the Firefox homepage because of spyware. Anyone having the same problem or is it a virus?
* original title - registration XP Anti-Spyware? *
XP doesn't have a program, anti-Spyware, to the best of my knowledge, unless it is MSE and who does not need to be saved. Can you get on the internet using IE?
Looks like you may have a virus. Please download Malware-bytes here , once you download and install, make sure it is updated and run a full scan of the system. Depending on the anti-virus program, make sure it is updated and run it. Then download Microsoft security Essentials, implemented to update and run.
You have installed anti-spyware program?
Let me know if this is useful,

Hello, I would like you to help mewith the following questions...
Related to the question of the conflict between the programs microsoft security essential antivirus and antimalware bytes free (anti-malware) what is your opinion? Can they work together? And a second question: can I have windows firewall turned on at the same time with another protection in real time from the anti-malware bytes and Super anti-spyware free software? And the last question: what Windows Defender?I disabled it in my computer, probably because I use Mr. S. Essential, is necessary in the 32-bit edition of Vista business with MSE and Antimalware running together?Thnx in advance...Free Malwarebytes and Superantispyware Free cause no conflict with Microsoft Security Essentials.
Keep Windows Firewall turned on.You can't and don't need to use Windows Defender on Vista, when you use Microsoft Security Essentials. You can find the answers to these questions and others like it in the FAQ Guide reference Microsoft Security Essentials -

I have an ADVENT 7083 laptop Windows XP, there installed AVG Anti Virus (now expired). Do I need to uninstall AVG, before installing Microsoft Security Essentials?
Yes, it's a good idea to remove it if you don't plan to use at a later date... Also I suggest that you run the removal tool (Cleanup utility).

Windows Security Center gives me a "alert" that my anti-virus is disabled. I have Win XP Professtional and'm running Windows defender and Microsoft Security Essentials times which I recently uninstalled, restarted the computer and reinstalled more updated. I read related security problems, but I have not found a match. I have a screenshot of the Win Security Center Alert, but unable to attach. It is said: ' Windows found multiple antivirus programs on this computer, but they all report that they could be updated or disabled. " Click on the recommendations for suggested actions... [what I did without success, i.e. update. «[I uninstalled, stop, rebooted and reinstalled and updated]»
When I shoot to the top of MSE it says, "protection is enabled, and updated definitions.
Windows Defender said: "Nothing detected" and "computer running normally."
Before the uninstall and update, I ran System Mechanic from Iolo, who has done wonders for speed.
Norman
When it comes to antivirus software, you want one and only one installed and running on your computer. Two or more may come into conflict with eachother and degrade performance. I advise you to uninstall Windows defender and use soley mse.
also I strongly suggest that you avoid using "PC optimization" tools. They can help a little, but they often do more harm than good.

Microsoft Security Essentials - call legitimate?
I was called by someone to notify my that my Microsoft Security Essentials has been booting not updates. They want to help me solve the problem. The person was Peter Matthews 888-287-7885.
I want to confirm that the call is legitimate before making changes, especially since my computer doesn't say not that I have a problem with the update and that it is up-to-date. Should I return the call and do what says Mr. Matthews? It is common to receive these calls?
It's a scam to gain access to your computer. Ask yourself this: how someone knows he wasn't the initialization of the updates?

Virus & spyware definitions update failed.
error code: 0x8024402c.
Error description: Microsoft Security Essentials was unable to install the updates of definition, because the proxy server or target server names is not resolved.
Here is an article that meets your specific error message regarding updates:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/900936. I am surprised that the error occurs with all the updates, but there may be a difference between them that causes the problem for definitions, but not for others. I hope that this will solve the problem.
If this does not help, please transfer your question in Forum Windows Update:http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/threads where updates experts will be happy to help you. Please post with the information requested here:what to post in the Windows Update forum
I hope this helps.

Hello
To add the good advice of TG, you don't want two of the main antivirus on the computer products
at the same time much less running. Don't forget to use the removal of the machine tools to prevent
problem causing leftovers when you want to uninstall/remove an antivirus/security products.Norton - removal tool

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
Operation of the network.Prevx - Home - free
Windows Firewall
Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)
Protected IE - mode
IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)
I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
right of IE)Two versions of Avast are available 5.x and 4.8 x
Avast - home - free - 5.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
disabled - click OK
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-downloadAvast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
Finish those you don't use).
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast
Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.
http://www.prevx.com/ <-->-->
http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp <-->-->PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice
http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.aspAlso get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.I hope this helps.

I've had Vista Anti spyware software in 2012. I ran Security Essential, MalwareBytes and Malicious Microsoft Microsoft Safety. Did a restore and reinstalled Windows. My Security Center wasn't there in respect of the services. I called Microsoft support and someone ran scans and checked files etc. My computer has been working on for an hour. The Security Center has been returned, but the firewall cannot be activated. I was told it's because of Microsoft Security Essentials. This does not look good. Someone can help me.
You need to get in touch with Support Ms. MSE and Windows Firewall are separate entities.

Action Center indicating I no. Anti-Spyware when I do
I used SUPERAnti-Spyware, SpyBot S & D and Microsoft Security Essentials on my Windows7 booty. I use on my Windows 8 SUPERAnti-Spyware, SpyBot S & D and Windows Defender.
I've installed IObit Advanced Systemcare anti-virus. Before installing on my W7, I uninstalled MSE. It installed with no problems and it uninstalled SUPERAnti-Spyware, what is called the anti-malware software incompatible. This went well.
But I did the same thing on Win8, and now Action Center of Win8 tells me that I have no Anti-Spyware software although I have installed SpyBot.
No idea why this is so?James
It's a common enough question and ESET NOD32 is treated in the same way. As long as you are sure that you have the right protection and has not been compromised by malicious software, ignore what Action Center said you...
