  • Question of an another Virus blackBerry Smartphones

I have a BB Curve 8530. I HAVE virus problems on my BB. People who receive the e-mail virus, I only send on my BB not desktop or laptop computer. Their addresses were never typed in my desktop or laptop computer just the BB.  Also these addresses are not saved on my BB as well. I read the posts re: virus, but they carry a date in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Can someone please.

    Thanks in advance,

    Seresa

Seresa, Hello and welcome to the Support Forums of community BlackBerry.com.

There are never and is not now a virus for BlackBerry. Period. It may come one day, but you're not alone by what he starts.

What you feel is common... nobody has control of your BlackBerry... emails are NOT being sent from your BlackBerry. They show in your sent messages? I don't think so... and if they do, could you please copy and paste the text of one here in this thread so that we can study?

What is happening is that your e-mail account is being spoofed by spammers well-trained and very low Sales. Billions of emails are sent like this every day. On an e-mail account, it happened to me, I have not had or even used in five years - it is actually a dead e-mail account, but sometimes I get a friend by emailing saying me I have a virus... blah blah and it's only a few goober who usurps and sends spam to this account. They actually "robots" that pass by EVERY imaginable and sent e-mail account. Computers are powerful machines, and they can create a combition of letters and numbers over any account e-mail that was used.

Equally unlikely is a malware on a BlackBerry, that what you describe is actually more similar to. If you think this is possible, consider your Options > Advanced > Applications and see if you have ANY strange installed applications with which you aren't familiar. List them here.

  • Virus blackBerry Smartphone app? Help please!

3 applications appear randomly in my Bold 9700 download folder, haven't downloaded or modified permissions for what it is. No option to remove them, they are marked 100% games, sync music bubble bash 2.0 and virgin media. Have tried to change the records to be deleted, but no luck! I know that bb is virtually virus free, someone else has had this problem or have any ideas please?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

    Please check here:

    • Home screen > Options > (Advanced Options in certain levels of OS) > Applications

If the app in question is not on this list, it is not installed. On the contrary, the icon is a shortcut for "teaser" pushed to you from your wireless service provider. You can't really get rid of those. On the contrary, what I do is to create a homescreen folder called "Alternative icons" (some call it "Junk") and to settle all these icons. In this way, they are out of the way. On the other hand, if the application in question is on this list, then click on the X button and delete the app.

    Good luck!

  • Security blackBerry Smartphones software

I'm not running any security software on my BBB. I know I should. Most of you work what software?

    Looking for suggestions.

    Thank you

Well, there is not. And you can't have an 'anti' viruses for a virus that has not yet been achieved.

There are a couple of less scrupulous of software developers who sell anti-virus BlackBerry apps, but I don't recommend any more that I recommend that you turn off your car in sunscreens to hold down the key of the Sun on your paint job.

As long as you have a good backup (which allows to protect) and do a manual backup as well each week, you can support the virus when and if it opens and infects your machine. If. When and if.

That's my opinion. You can find some that are different, but I doubt their motivation and make sure that they are not wearing a tinfoil hat.

  • Anti virus and security net blackBerry smartphones

Hi all I'm new to blackberry just got a curve 8900 im a little worried about using the internet on this subject. the device have a firewall, anti-virus etc thank you for your help

Yes, there is a security firewall. All the data and e-mail coming and going of the device is encrypted.

There is no need antivirus for BB because no viruses yet developed for the BB... and you can't build an 'anti' until you know what the attack, right?

    You're safe. Enjoy.

It is not necessary and I had that confirmed by my company, because there is no virus attacking BB.

I'm intrigued as to the need to use the BB as a modem for your PC. I see the advantage of using it as a modem for a laptop.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones got a virus on my Bold 9700 Windows, can't delete it, file system error 3

I used the SD card in my BlackBerry as a way to print some documents. Of course, internet cafes are full of virus of children all this porn downloaded.

Then, I got a file autorun.inf with all its contents. My problem now is that I can not remove the file from the main virus. Whenever I try to remove it, an error occurs.

This is the file system error 3, from net.rim.device.api.io.file.FileIOException

Can I do to remove this thing? I tried the native and Rock File Manager, FileScout Lite file manager, but nothing works

    Raestloz wrote:
The problem is, it's a Windows virus. Connection to a PC could very well spell trouble. This is the reason why I try to remove the em with my BlackBerry.

There is no setting in the BB OS change on a file write protection. Therefore, you cannot do it with the BB... If you are not ready to connect it to any PC (maybe even the Internet infected PC coffee it?), then format the card with the BB command is your next step. Maybe you can remove the BB and using a card reader on a PC instead of mass storage Mode?

    Raestloz wrote:

In any case, can someone tell me what exactly the error means? It seems pretty obvious with FileScout Lite error message, but it would be nice if I can get a confirmation

The error is indeed explicit... somehow, this received file write protection on it the BB OS recognizes exactly as he said. How it happened? It would be a totally different matter of course... as well, since everyone here is volunteer 'out there', the other user nothing here you receive can be considered as authoritative beyond your level of confidence what information you receive.

I've been playing with my new torch 9810 and now the battery seems to be draining like crazy (up to 10% after having just three hours hanging out, not a single call done) - and some programs play AND I get a message indicating that the camera photo and video camera are in use although I'm not using the.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

  • Security of blackBerry Smartphones BBM

I recently bought a smart phone BlackBerry - curve 9360. I have in what concerns the protection of data on my camera and the account connected to it. First of all, I wanted to if a blackberry smartphone is hackable and how it is to viruses and threats.
Second, I want to know the security of the BlackBerry Messenger. I am a very sociable guy and regularly share pins with a lot of people I properly don't know sometimes even online with strangers as its seems much safer to share the pins that the telephone numbers. So my concern was that if no damage could come to my device or stored data top of this sharing of pine, in the form of my device be hacked using my BBPin or my data being exposed to someone or something.

    BlackBerry is not hackable.

    BlackBerry are not viruses.

You cannot expose any personal data to share your PIN, unless you tell as something buddy pine.

Do your updates in this way, not through the upgrade of the Desktop Manager:

See the link below for download and simple installation instructions.

First find your operator and the system operating file that you want to use.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
