  I think it's done. I went into my address book, choose someone who was in offline mode and clicked to make a call. It is then asked to allow Skype to access the camera. Once clicking on allow, I checked in the settings/privacy/camera and Skype was recently classified as a soft who had asked permission to access the camera: after previously showing only not here. I have not had the chance to test it yet so I can't really tell if it works.

  IPad Safari browser displays a white bar on the right of the site where, as it is supposed to fill the whole browser. What is happening with it and how hard is it? All other platforms to display properly.

• I can't for the life of my apply any correction of color or any other effect to a png logo I dragged into my Premiere Pro project.

  Hmmm... strange... (I'm scratching my head). What happens if you move the playhead through the clip? will he change then? I wonder if there is a screen refresh problem maybe?

  The other thing you could try is to add a layer of setting above the clip.

  • In the project bin, click the button new item (next to the trash)
  • Select the adjustment layer
  • Click OK
  • Drag the adjustment layer from the bin to a video track above the fixed image of PNG
  • and now try to add some effects to the layer setting instead.

  You should not lose your files if you reinstall 2.4. The catalog and images are completely separate of the program itself and 2.4 to read a catalog 2.5 very well. Just install 2.4 and you're done. If you want to be really sure, before you go, let Lightroom do a backup of your catalog. Do so you by going to the menu of Lightroom-> catalog settings. On the general tab, choose 'Lightroom starts only next time '. Stop Lightroom and restart it. He will back up. After restarting, go back to the backup of the catalog settings and set the backup where it was once (one week usually). Now stop Lightroom and downshift using the installation program.

  P.S. You really have a solid backup strategy that uses another hard drive (external). Your anguish for losing your job scares me, that you do not want to save your work. Mac OS X from Leopard makes it dead simple with the time machine function. Only, you get a very big (tera-bytes are cheap these days) drive hard firewire (sold in many places like costco, bestbuy, etc but cheaper online) and reformat the drive and start the time machine. Do not get a USB for a G5, get a firewire one. If you are not yet on Leopard (Snow Leopard does not work on G5, but Leopard is fine), get it, use a third-party backup tool or make manual backups.

• A new iPad 9.7 Pro update of and iPad Mini

  I have an old iPad Mini (Mini) and a new, an iPad 9.7 Pro (Pro).  I have 185 pdf books, manuals, etc. on the Mini and I'm trying to update the Pro.  In the last two weeks, I spent more than 4 hours with the support of Apple on the phone without success.  The first fight lasted about two hours, and it appeared that the Pro has been updated correctly.  A week later, when I went to get a pdf that I thought had been transferred, I was unable to find it.  That's when I discovered that only 74 of the 185 had been transferred properly.

  The basic approach was the Mini to iTunes backup, and then restore it this backup on the Pro.  It obviously doesn't work.  I then called Apple Support again and we have gone through basically the same process.  The Mini to iTunes backup and then restore this backup on the Pro.  All 185 pdfs have been backed up properly on my desktop (Win 8.1), but when this backup has been restored to the Pro, only 74 of the 185 came.  Apple support person and I never got it works.  So now I have to find those who have not been restored and restore each of them individually - 111 pdf files.

  This situation is TOTALLY unacceptable.  A couple of years ago, when I bought a new desktop computer, it was a simple matter to move the 'old' stuff on the new computer using a simple transfer program running on the machines and an easy transfer cable special to connect the two computers.  Why I can't get the transfer to work using own Apple programs, I don't know.

  Most of my opinions on Apple and their stuff of so-called "user friendly" is printable and really unable to repeat in polite society.

  I hope someone reading this can enlighten us on one solution to this problem, other than what seems to be the only solution so far.  Find the missing PDF files and get them on my Pro will take a lot of time.  Time, I'd rather spend pursuing my hobby - photography.  Not only that, even though I am retired, I still have many things to do instead of my photography.

  If so, why not drop the PDF from the Mini to the Pro - one at a time, but the process is very fast.

• video iPad pro has stopped playing after update 9.2

  Since the 9.2 update any video on my iPad pro willl not play. I first noticed this after making a video and trying to read. There is a long pause, maybe 2 minutes and then you can hear the sound of the video but the screen remains black. Then I tried to pay for a video on amazon (video demo of a product) and it will show no video but after a long break, I can hear what he says.

  Then I tried youtube and the same result, without video, only the sound after a long break.

  I had no problem with the iPad before this update happened a few days ago. I rebooted but still reset the iPad again.

  Same thing here. Not only app show me any video at all:

  -Safari (try watching YouTube videos)

  -YouTube (installed later to check if it's a Safari specific issue)

  -Vimeo

  -Podcast

  -Photos (video I shoot and could watch on my iPhone)

  -FaceTime

  -Skype

  Not even a cinematic inside a game app I was playing yesterday... I'm not sure to try a beta version as a solution, especially if I can't find the data confirming the beta solves this problem.

  Thoughts? ideas?
