  I have enabled Bitlocker to my USB on Windows 7 and just after the encryption process initial started I realized I forgot to format the USB stick to NTFS (it is formatted in FAT32). So, I suspended the encryption and removed the USB to the computer. The window of "encryption" Bitlocker disappeared and thought, cool, it stopped. No, it's never easy I guess.   You will not be able to cancel the encryption, as is a built-in feature.

  You can suspend or resume the encryption.

  1 open the Bit locker Drive Encryption by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking Security, and then click Bit locker Drive Encryption.

  2. do one of the following:

  ·         To temporarily suspend Bit Locker, click suspend Protection, and then click Yes.

  ·         To Disable Bit Locker and decrypt the drive, click Disable Bit Locker, and then click drive to decrypt.

  Do you really think on installing Windows 7 over several years old Satellite Pro 6100?

  In my opinion, it won't work because it is too old and not fast enough. Newer operating system that is supported by Toshiba is Windows XP and this should be the best choice for good old classic.

  So just to be satisfied with Windows XP, it's a good choice for older computers! :)

  Yes, you can install Win xp on this laptop, but you will need to use the drivers for Win XP 64-bit.

  European driver Toshiba page provides accurate drivers for 32it version, so you have to collect drivers 64-bit with your own hands...

  But to be honest; I do not recommend using Win XP 64 bit... either you choose 32 bit or Win 7 64 bit.

  Win XP 64 bit was not so popular as the 32-bit version and most of the applications and the software is compatible with the 32-bit version.

  In regards to your personal files, they must be saved on a device external or other removable media. This is because you can not 'upgrade' itself from Xp to Windows 7. It requires a clean install which means that all data on the hard disk is deleted during the installation of 7...

  You can disable the mosaic preview.
  Open Internet Explorer.
  Go to tools and scroll down to Internet Options.
  On the general tab, go to the Section tabs.
  Click on the settings button.
  Uncheck the 'enable quick tabs '.
  Restart Internet Explorer.

  Installation of Windows Xp from a usb key involves a lot more than simply copy the files from one windows on a USB disk. It is much more difficult than don't imagine most (but not impossible).
