Anyone who suffers a loss of functionality with windows live essentials 2011 in win7 64-bit (and also not be able to upgrade to IE 9.0)?
Recently (approx. wk may 9 to 14) windows live essentials 2011 stops working in all it of aspects either does not at all, or in the case of loading semi Webcam live photo gallery, then indicating a failure to fully charge and closing. Furthermore, when I tried to install IE 9.0 program wants to debug or close after installation, when I try to use it.
I have Win7 Home premium SP1 64 bit OS, 4.0 GB RAM (3.75 usable), AMD Athlon X 2 dual core L310 1.2 Ghz on a laptop Acer 5538 with an AMD 3200 HD Radeon graphic chipset. I have since uninstalled the "update" IE 9.0.
It seems that your issue is with Windows Live.
Please post this question to the Forums Windows Live:
I have a big problem with Windows Live essentials 2011. I can't find in Add and remove programs or in C:\program files to remove it if I can reinstall it. I went through the registry and deleted all instances of it. When I try to reinstall, I get the error 0x8007064c code. I've done everything I can find to do, but to no avail. Help, please...

I'm trying to update the photo gallery and Movie Maker with the Windows Live Essentials 2011. Initially, I made it through Windows Update, then tried to use the web installer from http://explore.live.com/windows-live-essentials. For these two, I get the following error:
Then, I tried to use the full download (one who is 155 MB) and got the following error message:
Error: 0 x 80040605
I was able to successfully install Windows Live Mesh however.
Make sure you have enough disk space on the hard drive.
Temporarily disable the Antivirus\Firewall, then check the issue. Sometimes they may be in conflict.
Note: Please make sure that you enable the antivirus software\firewall after the test to keep your computer protected.

For several months, I tried to download this updated stupid, but for some reason any, that I don't understand, Windows Live Essentials 2011 will not download to my computer that runs on Windows Vista 32-bit. My anti-virus software is Norton and doesn't seem to block any downloads software whatsoever, unless he invites me to block first. I tried to download it from my Windows Update, I tried to download official Microsoft Web site and I even tried a download offline on one of the links posted here, but it will not download. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.
Off-topic: can someone explain to me that, since Internet Explorer 9 download (I have since managed to get rid of and fortunately returned to IE8), why main my taskbar and windows icons disappear and not return when I leave my PC slowed down!
Windows Live Essentials 2011 (QFE1) is entirely compatilble - with Vista SP2 (only).

Yesterday, I noticed that there is an update available for my Vista and Windows 7 computers. I started to perform the update. About halfway through, the update hung. I noticed a secondary window jumps to the top. Using the secondary window, I was able to complete the update.
The first update window continued to be hung. I restarted the computer. After the re-start, I have re-opened Windows Update and went to look at the history of the update.
The story says that the update failed with error code:

It should be clear to everyone by now that Windows Live Essencials 2011 is full of bugs and doesn't work as well as the previous version. My problem has to do with the Live ID Signin Assistant. Conflicts of this program to be able to view the network shares on the WDTV Live.
I used Windows Live Mail for years and have been happy with the program. With this version, it was possible to uninstall the Live ID Signon companion in Add and remove some programs dialog. Apparently there is no way to uninstall this program with the 2011 version.
Access my network shares is more important to me than to use all Windows Live programs, so unless there is a way to resolve the conflict with the Assistant of Signon, (such as uninstalling this specific program), I'll be forced to remove all Windows Live my computer programs and start using a different e-mail program. It would be unfortunate, because the habit altogether by using Windows Live Mail.
I'd appreciate any help or advice on this issue.

I don't understand how it happened, but maybe someone could enlighten me?
First of all, I was informed of an update for Microsoft Security Essentials. So of course, I did the update because I didn't want to be protected.
I don't know if this is related somehow. I think that my update understood also as a Windows Live Essentials package. When I checked my e-mail and instant messaging, I noticed that the format has changed, and now, I think it's the new WLM 2011.
It may seem very nice and put up-to-date, but it caused a series of serious problems for me. Let me explain:
First of all, I must clarify that I am disabled and use the speech recognition, Windows speech recognition Dragon NaturallySpeaking both, because I can't use my hands.
In the original WLM before the update, if I were using Dragon NaturallySpeaking, I was able to dictate with great ease and had no problem. If I wanted to then send the email I would say just 'send' and e-mail would go. With WLM 2011, if I say that now, it does not work.
It's just a problem that I have. The next problem is much larger. In some cases, Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition will not work and I can't dictate anything. I then have to close WLM completely and then open it again. Then only, it'll work. This happens many times and it's very frustrating, as you can imagine for someone like me.
Forgive me for saying, it may seem very well with all the new bells and whistles there, but it makes my life a misery at the moment. In my view, there are a lot of bugs that need to be sorted out first with her.
My question is, can I go back to the original WLM somehow until the update meets my needs? Can I go back to the status quo when WLM 2010 worked well with speech recognition for me?
If so, can someone tell me how to do what you please?
If not, then how am I supposed to use these features now?

When I use either my printer to scan a document, cartoon, etc. to send e-mail (Windows Live Mail 2011), the scan works fine, but when I try to attach the message to send to a recipient, the scanned image was cropped (up to the size of a photo?) and space of the image is now asking for 'enter the name of the album', 'slide show', etc. - which suggests that it is an activity of picture which is not. All I want to do is scan a document for emailing, a process that worked flawlessly w. Windows Live Mail 2010. How can I overcome this problem?

The pane is empty and for all my email.
Now, if I swith in plain text, I can see the email as an html attachment.
Why I can't see the body of the email?
I'm running Windows Live Mail 2011 with Windows 7 for one Hotmail account, as well as three others with Tiscali addresses. Microsoft has announced that they will support is no longer Windows Live Essentials 2011.

Is it possible to upgrade to Windows Live Mail 2012 and download the latest Microsoft Update for this version.
I have a laptop and tablet running Windows 10, but the construction option Mail is abominable and virtually unusable.
Thank you for this very important information. Very few of my clients use Microsoft Outlook online, or one of its related e-mail systems. So, I was not aware of this.
I hope won't be one problem for others who do not use Microsoft mail itself, like you.
In your case, I recommend that you upgrade to WLM 2012. http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-CA/Windows/essentials
As I said before, WLM 2011 and 2012 are not visibly different, but if you use groups, you lose that.
I suggest that you start by download Windows Live Essentials 2012. Turn it back on. Uninstall Windows Live Essentials 2011. Turn it back on. Install Windows Live Essentials 2012.
If your WLM 2011 does not work properly, you won't suffer any loss of data.
Windows Live Essentials is a complete set. You should probably only WLM (which is part of it). You can choose which items are installed.
