Apex listener 1.1.3 - I set up port 8080, but now I want to change

Hi experts.
I have configured the listener of the apex to port 8080 successfully, but now I want to change that, as well as the first question below.

1 - the apex listener can be started via a script?
2. how to change the port 8080 of the auditor of the apex?
I saw this, but I don't ' know if Dapex.home's home foleder apex earpiece or nt.

Java-Dapex.home=/tmp/apex-Dapex.images=/usr/local/apex/images
-Dapex.port = 8585 - Dapex.erase - jar < temp folder > apex.war

Hi user12055481,

1 - the apex listener can be started via a script?

Of course, if you want to use offline, it's basically the same call that you type when you start it manually. You can use nohup or a similar tool to run it in the background.

2. how to change the port 8080 of the auditor of the apex?
I saw this, but I don't ' know if Dapex.home's home foleder apex earpiece or nt.
Java-Dapex.home=/tmp/apex-Dapex.images=/usr/local/apex/images
-Dapex.port = 8585 - Dapex.erase - jar apex.war

You can see the [url http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/appexpress/1.1/docs/AELIG/E21058_01.pdf] APEX listener Installation and developer for documentation Guide full of all possible parameters...
One for the port is (obviously) apex.port . You need not provide the others if you want to just change the port. However, especially when you intend to use it in stand-alone Mode longer and use run script in function, it makes sense to use a home set (instead of your temp users) to store configuration and execution ( apex.home ) data and provide a certain destination for static content ("images") for APEX ( apex.images ) - especially important if you plan to use the APEX earpiece with different instances of APEX with different versions of the APEX. apex. Erase must be handled with care, as you will need to reconfigure the listener of the APEX, every time that you restart it. If you are considering a startup based on the script, you can do this as an option and to be used only when you want the listener to be reconfigured.

I hope that answers your questions. If this isn't the case, feel free to ask for more details.

  • Web server and the apex running on the same machine - possible conflict port 8080

    Hi guys,.

    I installed Apache Tomcat and currently in the process of installing Oracle 11 G in the same machine.

    The tomcat uses port 8080 and I understand other installs, the APEX uses 8080 as well.

    Is there way after installing Oracle 11 G database XE, stop APEX so it is not in conflict with the use of 8080 Tomcat? I have no use for APEX at this point you want to stop if possible.

    Alternatively, it can be configured to use a different port?

    Thank you very much.

    You can do either, stop it or change the port. So sad that you said that you «have no use for Apex...» ».  :(

    What gateway do you use for Apex? What is the EPG, OSH or the listener of the Apex? If you use the EPG, there is an order any structure/API for it. Here are a couple that you can run a SQLPlus session:

    SELECT DBMS_XDB.GETHTTPPORT FROM DUAL;

    EXEC DBMS_XDB.SETHTTPPORT(port);
    For example:

    EXEC DBMS_XDB.SETHTTPPORT(8080);

    OR

    EXEC DBMS_XDB.SETHTTPPORT(8181);

    If you use OSH then you go to your OHS/Apache Directory and find the path to the OPM and issue commands to start where your stop. If it's the listener of the Apex with Glassfish, then you go to the console of administration of Glassfish and stop your deployment of Apex from there. I'll leave you the specifications.

  • Model RTF BI Publisher under the XSL - FO with APEX listener PDF printing

    Hello, all,.

    I tried to use both the Oracle APEX the Apache FOP listener options in the instance of print settings to generate a PDF report.  The model I use is a RTF model created with the plugin from the editor of BI in Microsoft Word, and it does not work with the editor of BI setting.  I understand that the earpiece of the APEX and Apache FOP will not work with this RTF, but when I export the model to XSL - FO the word Pub BI plugin, it does not for the engines of the listener or FOP.  I'm doing something wrong here?

  • Get the blank Page using Weblogic and Apex listener v2

    Greetings,

    So I thought I would upgrade to the new version of the listener at the same time, I'm moving my current listeners of the apex (version 1.0.2.238.15.24) to a new server. The version of the new listener, I try to use is 2.0.0.354.17.05.

    I need to set up several headphones on the new server to point to different environments. I managed to successfully install the new listening port for one of my environments and everything works fine. However when I try to install the listener once I get a blank page when I try to put in place the Apex.

    I created two areas Weblogic (v 10.3.3), one for each listener. Here is how they are configured:

    This earphone works.
    DEV1
    Domain Name:     APEXA
    Host Name:     mars
    Port Number     7023
    Database Host:     mars
    Database Name:     SID1
    APEX Version:     4.1.0.00.32
    This listener DOES NOT work.
    DEV2
    Domain Name:     APEXB
    Host Name:     mars
    Port Number     7053
    Database Host:     venus
    Database Name:     SID2
    APEX Version:     4.1.0.00.32
    I am trying to access the second listener by entering this url:
    http://mars.xyz.com:7053/apex
    and that value is returned
    http://mars.xyz.com:7053/apex/f?p=4550:1:684042141256623
    Since the number of app, the page number, the session information is there, I guess that is what makes the database and is processed by the Apex. The problem is that the returned page is empty. The source of the actual page is:

    <html>
    <head>
    </head>
    <body>
    <pre></pre>
    </body>
    </html>
    I checked that images are accessible by entering:
    http://Mars.xyz.com:7053/i/apex_version.txt

    This is what is returned:
    Application Express Version: 4.1

    I don't know how to debug this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Larry

    You have configured different configuration for Auditors 2 directories? If only they would use the same config files and which would give conflicts.
    You can also configure the two summits on the same listening port, each accessible with a different URL prefix.
    And if the second database is always 10g, then you might hit a bug (Apex listener 2.0 does not work against 10g DB).

  • SSL &amp; apex listener

    Hi all

    I'm not much of a webmaster so just for the want to wrap your head around things. I've got APEX Listener installed with Tomcat 7. SSL must be configured Tomcat level or layer of the listener.

    Also, I see a lot of Glassfish. I guess it's the big enterprise server for extra support Java EE and "sustained", because I don't see how a small business could allow 5K a processor. But for a small company, Tomcat is an alternative appropriate for small businesses?

    Sincerely

    Jan S.

    Hello Jan,

    SSL must be configured Tomcat level or layer of the listener.

    SSL is the part of your Tomcat configuration. If you already have an Apache HTTP with SSL server in your farm, you may also set up to act as a reverse proxy and let the work of Tomcat without SSL. The connection would be so

    Client (HTTPS) ==> (HTTPS) Proxy (HTTP/AJP) ==> (HTTP/AJP) Tomcat

    Also, I see a lot of Glassfish. I guess it's the big enterprise server for extra support Java EE and "sustained", because I don't see how a small business could allow 5K a processor.

    I get your point for the 5K, but GlassFish is in fact the smallest support JEE container and considered a kind of "light weight", also for small businesses. WebLogic is much more expensive...

    But for a small company, Tomcat is an alternative appropriate for small businesses?

    If you do not need official support for your business, you'll be fine with Tomcat.

    Hello

    I updated the apex listener port 8080 and it does not give this error now.

    However, he always says "Database connection by default not configured correctly"

    I gave the name of SID as xe, which is the default value and that the correct SID for my DB also.
    >

    SID = xe is correct since you are using 11g XE.

    What is more important, is that you may be able to access the Apex Application Builder via the ApexListener or not.
    If Apex is not accessible, then the thing to check would be the Apex_Public_user password. Can you connect to XE using Apex_Public_user with the password that you provided when setting up the ApexListener?
    Also make sure the Apex_Public_user and 2 other users ApexListener 2.0EA, are UNLOCKED.

    See you soon,.

    Hello Martin,

    I don't think you can do this with the APEX listener in stand-alone mode. If you deploy it in a JEE container "full share", you can add a filter to set this header, but all I know he is not a party of the default options of the auditor of the APEX (yet). At least, it is not documented.

    Hello Igor.

    the setting -Dconfig_dir = is an option for the JVM, used similar to a shell environment setting.
    You can set this parameter to GlassFish by editing the startserv.bat or shell startserv script, depending on the OS you are using.
    Note that you can use any name, as config_rep is a name arbitrarily chosen for the parameter that I presented for the config file.

  • It must for application Apex runs in mode listener Apex to use Apex listener 2.0 as a print server?

    Hello world

    I'm an Oracle Apex developer for 2 years now.

    Recently, I was in charge of search and do a few examples of how to print pdf with Oracle Apex 4.2.2 (Oracle 11 g).

    I want to use Apex 2.0 listener that standalone as a print server, we installed and we changed the configuration of the print server in the administration workspace. Then I created a report query and when I have the test report, a pdf file is downloaded, but when he opens, Adobe reader tells me that is not a valid pdf file.

    Our Apex application runs in the pl/sql gateway mode not Apex listener.

    So my squestion is: "" Is it mandatory for application Apex runs in mode listener Apex to use Apex listener 2.0 as a print server?".

    Thanks for help.

    Thank you once again.

    You have answered your own question... If you use the EPG, then you can NOT use another product middleware or application server until you turn off the EPG...

    Why you use the EPG in production?  Oracle does NOT recommend this (see the APEX Oracle installation instructions..)

    Whose APEX_PUBLIC_USER is required for the operation of the Applications Oracle APEX. APEX_LISTENER (which corresponds to the configuration of apex_al) and APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER (which corresponds to the apex_rt configuration) in ADR are required for the accommodation of RESTful services.

    The problem, I think it's that you haven't configured the RESTful services before installing ADR where the APEX_LISTENER and the APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER does not exist and so the configuration of the ADR fails.

    It is fine if you do not configure the RESTful services (just want to use Oracle APEX), but when the ADR facility you should ignore configuration APEX_LISTENER and APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER accounts.

    Moreover, I think that you use EA(Early Adopter) version of ADR version 3.0 of knowing, but I think you should go for the stable version of ADR version 2.0.10 Viz.

    The ADR 3.0 configuration is more advanced (complex bit) than the 2.0 because it contains information about 5 database users (i.e., APEX_PUBLIC_USER, APEX_LISTENER, APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER, ORDS_METADATA and ORDS_PUBLIC_USER).

    Finally, I think you want the instance Oracle APEX for purposes of personal training, using Gateway (EPG) of embedded PL/SQL would be sufficient now as suggested by fac586 here: Re: getting started with APEX after download

    Suggestion: You should post data Services Oracle REMAINS related matters to the appropriate i.e. forum ADR, SODA & JSON in the database.

    I hope this helps!

    Kind regards
