  Additional information: there are 2 computers that I use on the first Gallery Photo of Windows will open the image and allow me to use the left and right buttons to scroll through the rest of the photos in the folder, that's what I want.

  On the 2nd computer when I open an image it will open the Windows Photo Gallery in an index with thumbnails of the displayed record.  How can I change so that it opens the same thing as the first computer?

  I did the following on both computers; Right-click on the image and select open with...--> choose the default program--> go--> Program Files, Windows Photo Gallery, but it will be open always differently on computer 2.

  Both computers use Windows Vista 32-bit.

  This would happen if the file associations are corrupted on the computer, try method to set Photo Gallery Windows as the default program for opening files jpeg or png below image types.

  (a) open default programs by clicking the Start button, click default programs.

  (b) click on associate a type of file or Protocol with a program

  (c) in the following list of file protocol search jpeg and make sure that you have associated with the program that uses it and then check if it works.

• Where is the text for the index and search tabs saved?

  It is specifically in RoboHelp 9 - although the answer may be the same for other versions.

  I wonder, when WebHelp is created, where to get the text to use in the indexing and search tabs?

  Specifically, I'm looking for (and change), the text in the Index tab that reads, "type in the keyword to find:" and the text in the Search tab that reads, "Type in the words to search for:

  I suspect these two phrases are in a file .lng somewhere, and just this file needs to be changed...

  The mentioned Colum .lng file are accessible more easily by clicking on file > project settings > Advanced button > LNG tab

  Under LNG, you will see everything most of the default labels for different items. It is better to work here on the source of LNG, rather than trying to change the output WebHelp that will be replaced later the next time that you build.

• Invisible text on the index page

  I used Dreamweaver in the classic environment. The index.html page seems fine and I used edit text here without any problem. However I use OS x, ago different end appeared: index.shtml when I open this document there is no text I could change is visible. All empty space. It is in design mode. When I go to view code, I see all the text. I changed end shtml to HTML in the hope that the text will appear. Nope.
  So my question is - how to make the text visible in index.shtml document in design mode?

• How to find and replace text in the index entries?

  Hello

  Recently, I copied a manual to create a new one for another product. After a global search and replace the product names and other texts, I needed to replace a specific word that appears in the index entries.

  I noticed the search box would allow me to search the text of the marker, but I had to replaceme the word by hand - cut and paste the new Word, click on change the marker to save it and then find the next occurrence.

  It's with frame 7.2. Does anyone know a faster way to do this?

  If you check under your character styles, you should have an option for external benchmark. Set it to the same size as the rest of the text for your index.

  I've built and rebuilt a lot of pages, which makes the project seem like chaos. I want to re - assign numbers page for them, but I don't want to manually change the reference to them, because it would cause an error if I forgot a few references. But I noticed that APEX will not re-name thing for us. For example, if I delete a page, create a new and assign the former tab to this new page, APEX keeps even the reference to the old page, which no longer exists.

  Yes, it's perhaps heavy.
  What might help is in the page which number you want to change, change the selection list 'View' (the one just before the OK button top left on your definition of pages page) of the definition to referenced. So, you see where the current page is referenced and what to change. Also using Page aliases will reduce the number of changes...

  I try to generate the index for my book, I was layoutet with InDesign.

  Now, I am facing two problems.

  Problem 1: Page numbers are wrong. The first two pages of the book, the cover and the backsite of it, has all the numbers and so the introduction to the book begins with "page 1". I solved this with the chapters. Now, if I'm looking for the title of page 43 of the index I see "Headline... page 45." This is because InDesign also has coverage and its backsite.

  Problem 2: If I separated a cap with the key Enter it will appear twice as different entries in the index. If I separate a cap with shift + enter InDesign destroyed the index and also separates the title on two lines, but only as one input connected. But in addition it stretches the entries in the index above the full line because of justification.

  I am creating an index and would like to see my index entries highlighted in the text during the indexing process. Obviously, these are non-printable. I know that I can view hidden characters and see the blue signs, but there they are so small and difficult to discern with the representation of things hidden character all.

  I thought about setting up of a temporary character style, but some of the entries already have a different character style. Can I do something with layers?

  Ideally, I would like to see a transparent yellow highlight as what you can do with the Acrobat commenting tools.

  I see two problems with your idea

  1. the position of the index mark. It may be the beginning of a Word, or at the end or somewhere in the middle. In fact, it does not matter even if its anywhere near the word, as it is on the same page!

  2. the indexed text. Suppose you have a book on cats and dogs. For the index, you can add all of the cats like 'cats' and dogs like ' canines - the word you put into the Index Entry add should not be literally in your text. '. Another example is "Indexing", which would be indexed as "index" or possibly "index, creating a".

  Now on the right thing!

  You can create a GREP style that highlights the text surrounding an index mark. GREP styles are amazing - even if they apply character Styles, they interfere with any existing character styles! They blend together perfectly. It does not totally reliable - more on that below - but the general idea is:

  a. create a new character style 'Brand of Index'. Set it to emphasize and underline options, set 12 pt thickness, offset to pt - 3 and color to something real bright.

  b. in your main paragraph for the plain text style (you 're using paragraph styles, you're not? if not, you should!), select "GREP Styles.

  c. Add a new GREP style. Define its character style 'Brand of Index' and 'Text' '~I\w+' field - it's an eye in capital letters. Do not add quotation marks.

  d. Add another style GREP. Also define its style of character 'Brand of Index' and set the "text" field "\w+~I" (again, the eye uppercase, no quotes needed).

  e. click OK. Your index entries get highlighted.

  Why is this not perfect? Well, I guess it goes beyond what the Adobe engineers have been imagine we would use GREP styles to. The index mark, tilde-capital eye, seems to mess up the text turns a little. Therefore, the usual "\w+" expected thing pick up as many "Word characters" possible suddenly fails and may be missing a few characters.

  It takes two GREP styles, rather than a ubiquitous '\w*~I\w*' because this was to pick up all the words containing an index mark, but, in reality, does not pick up anything at all.

  There is another small disadvantage: because it's true underlining, it will also print and appear in the PDF files. But it is easily resolved: print (or export to PDF, or whatever), go to the character style "Benchmark" and turn off the underline. If you need to see the markers, put it back on and hey! They - re ba - ack!

• Fixing of capitalization of the index

  I'm creating an index by working through the document, pointing out the words or phrases I want, press option 7 (CS4 on Mac). However, many of the words begin with a capital letter in the text while I'm envy them all lowercase in the index. I can fix it at registration. However, is there a way I could, once the index is finalized and I do not need to be updated more, change them to all lowercase letters as a batch?  At that point, they will be just like another block of text.

• How to stop all the text/HTML/menu of the browser to appear as numbered seats?

  A few weeks ago ALL the text in my firefox browser began to appear as numbered places. It's all of the HTML on the page, javascript popups, text fields of menus... everything. It didn't happen after I made a bet to day or anthing, it just happened partially through the day when I opened the browser window. I tried to do an update when I was invited, which didn't help, and I tried completely uninstall and then reinstall the latest version.

  Try some prefs to toggle Boolean gfx.font_rendering on the topic: configuration page to disable some features.
  
  Filter: gfx

  Some to try:

  • Set gfx.direct2d.disabled to true to disable Direct2D
  • GFX.font_rendering.directwrite.use_gdi_table_loading set to false

  To open the topic: config page, type Subject: config in the address bar (address) and press the 'Enter' key, as you type the url of a Web site to open a Web site.
  
  If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access this page.

  • Use the filter at the top bar of the on: page config to more easily spot a preference.
  • Preferences that have changed also show "BOLD" (user set).
  • Preferences can be reset to the default value using the context menu if they are set of users
  • Preferences can be changed via the context menu: Edit (string or integer) or toggle (Boolean)

  Try turning off hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

• text of the e-mail does not appear in hotmail or gmail in Firefox, but it does in internet explore

  A part of the text in e-mail from a particular sender does not at all appear in gmail or my hotmail in Firefox e-mail account. When I go to the same email using Internet Explorer, all the text is there. I tried the email viewing with disabled modules, and that did not fix the problem.

  I don't see any purpose to have so many tags nested inside one another, because they are very repetitive, but many creation tools make no effort to write good HTML as long as it works in IE.

  The problem is that Firefox is not by not showing what it is rather than is not showing an image of plain text, as you saw when you paste into a word processing document. At least then you would know when something is missing. I don't know if/when that will be fixed, this is a known issue for some time.

  The redirect solution does not work on Gmail rich text/HTML mode, but if you switch to plain text mode, the list without style appears as a piece of text (screen attached). Not very useful, but it is there in a pinch.

  Sorry I don't have a good fix for the moment.
