  It's pretty normal. All your images are always on your old computer and you transfer those to your new computer. Just transfer them as well as your catalog file and opens in Lightroom on the new computer. For presets, you need to transfer files, preferences and presets that are hidden in folders hidden on the Mac. Therefore, with the Mac, when I update the machines, I'm usually just restore from a backup on the new computer (very easy with Time Machine backups) or directly from the old machine (a little harder).
