To answer your question, yes the Apple Watch keep track of your number of steps per day. We show, in the activity-> scroll down until you see 'Total Distance'-> above 'total Distance', it tells you the total number of steps that you took that day. I hope this helps!

  All works well - I can even put the phone in airplane mode or turn it completely off and continue to use the Mac and iPad to call and send SMS.

II thought if the watch was on WiFi, it might be a feature of sync number too, even when the phone has been disconnected or turned off.   Update: does not always.

  I called Apple about it. They are not too familiar with synchronization to the number, but they gave me the usual advice: restart the watch - which did not help. reset the watch - which did not help; disable the twinning and re - pair the watch (a 30-minute operation) - which did not help either.

  I also rebooted the phone and enabled wifi calling works. Nothing helps.

  I have my Apple Watch 2 configuration with the Nike Run Club app.  Repeatedly, I tried to run without my iPhone (6 current execution 10.0.2) and for some reason that GPS doesn't seem to work. While I open a session is running, pace/time is completely off and it isn't GPS data capture because cards do not appear in the app once I connect and send the run. Also, I assume that the GPS does not work because the pace is so far off the coast. It seems to me that it is logging tracks using the accelerometer, which has not yet been resolved as I want to be able to connect the tracks using GPS.  I need help. I bought the watch to replace an old Strip, Nike +, in the hope that I could run without the phone, but it has been an uphill battle implemented.  The Nike Run Club app not yet been updated in order to make full use of GPS data from the Apple Watch?

  So, I've been using a Apple Watch for a while and my number one problem is that 'Activity', I put together for the last year is not sync with the iCloud, so when I upgraded my iPhone 6 to iOS10 all my activity watch is gone. I tested this point last week and it seems that "Activity" app does not synchronize your data in the cloud, so if you lose your phone or your watch you will have to start all over again and latest data are lost.
