Apple Watch scratches

I was recently cleaning my Apple Watch and saw a small amount of micro scratches on the stainless steel case.  I was wondering if there is a way to remove scratches on the watch case?

Hello

You ensure that your watch keeps all the features, Apple does recommend no buffing or polishing with abrasive Watch (including the mechanical polishing) or the use of soaps or cleaners.

I got my Apple Watch since Christmas and I love it.  Recently, I noticed a scratch on the screen.  Not sure how it happened.  It does not interfere with something else and shows only when light hits a certain way, but it's boring.  I kept thinking this is a task, but when it doesn't come off, I saw that it was a scratch.  I have a first generation 38mm sports watch rose gold.  Is there a way to replace the screen?

    Hi Maxine

Scratches are the result of contacts any. To help reduce the risk of damage from debris on the screen, keep your watch clean and dry (use an abrasive, lint cloth):

It is possible that only the fingerprints, oil-resistant coating has been scratched. It is normal that this coating to wear away under normal use, but she has become marked without damaging the surface of the screen under.

If you have scratched the screen or not, Apple recommends not using products cleaning or polishing or Polish the watch with abrasives; they will wear away the lining and may also (still) scratch the screen.

If you wish, Apple may inspect the brand and notify you of any services (e.g. out-of-warranty repair) options that may be available. Note, however, that the apparent defects - which include scratches - are not covered by warranty.

Contact Apple support (mail service may be available) or make a Genius Bar reservation to establish repair service options available, likely costs and deadlines:

Otherwise, a good quality screen protector (thin film type) can be effective in concealing or reducing the visibility of the brand, as well as to provide some protection against future damage.

  • Do I need a case for my Apple Watch?

I just bought the sports watch (38 mm with Silver Aluminum case) and I'm trying to decide if I should buy a case. I know that watches are made to be durable enough and I really prefer not to sacrifice the design but I'm worried that I would need the case. I work a lot and teach fitness classes - a case would be useful in the watch of sweat and bumps protection against equipment? Colleagues who have the shows say they are ok with a case, but I'm worried he might get banged up in the gym. Also, I work in a restaurant, and think that the case might help against protect them against damage from water. Any advice?

    Hello

The answer to your question is a matter of personal preference.

It may be useful to read the comments of the protective case on a site like Amazon.

Issues with Apple Watch cases / protectors (in general) understand that they can, for example: fall pretty easily, reduce the sensitivity to touch, scratch quite easily get moisture dirty (on the outside), trap or trap small items of debris under them (which can cause scratches on the case or display).

With the help of a case can make it also more difficult or less convenient to monitor your own and dry. Cleaning and drying of your watch are recommended, for example, after exposure to sweat and other liquids in order to maximize comfort and avoid damage to long-term of the watch.

  • Apple Watch SS composite rear stripes?

My Apple Watch is 1 months old tomorrow.  I like it.  I have protected the watch face with armorsuit screen protector.  The watch is mainly on my wrist or in the charger and not where elsewhere.

But I notices that there are all these fine scratches on the face of the composite rear sensor.  They are not so bad now, but I guess that they could begin within a year that affect the sensor readings.

I guess the charger could do that.  I saw someone post a vid on how to put some on the charger fine Microfiber cloth.  I can try this to keep scratches to worsen.

But the scratches on the back side can be polished?  And if so, how?

    Hi Bob

Use to ensure that your watch keeps all the features, Apple does not recommend polishing he or she polishing with abrasives.

It is also risky to put anything between the back of the watch and the charger. (Even accidentally leaving the thin plastic wrap, original on the charger may cause problems with the load).

To avoid additional scratches, rather clean the back of your watch - and also the surface of charger - before loading your watch. In doing so, don't forget to follow the instructions from Apple for the cleaning of your watch and charger (including using a non-abrasive, lint).

  • Apple Watch striped Sport

I have a 42mm Sport Apple Watch that was purchased there is a little more than six months and was like all incredible Apple far products!

I the door only for use lite as I am an office worker and did not have an only scratch or mark in 6 months to own, to clean every night with a lint to ensure that it is always fixed.

A few weeks ago some scratches appeared on the top and bottom of the rounded edges, these had so bad now, looks like I fell and we pulled road on the edges of him make the watch usless. The other day, I noticed that my work shirt wrists rubs the watch in the exact direction scratches appear so taken with Apple Genius Bar appointment.

On the eve of the Genius Bar today and expressed my concerns with the watch, it turns out that Apple Watch is limited and therefore any damage is not covered, but it could be sent out of repair under warranty at a cost (more than half of the value of a watch).

Contacted the online support same answer no way he wouldn't scratch so easy that they reported no cases and would know if there was.

Don't know what to do now as a fan of Apple and the home, so full of Apple products, but maybe it's my last Apple purchase

... looks like I fell and we did make the road on the edges of him make the watch usless.

To create damage to one point as only the cuffs of a shirt with seems not credible. Have you contacted the manufacturer of your shirt? Anything can become scratched. I have not found my watch to be easily scratched despite the door for nearly a year during all sorts of activities.

  • Apple Watch activity is not in the cloud?

So, I've been using a Apple Watch for a while and my number one problem is that 'Activity', I put together for the last year is not sync with the iCloud, so when I upgraded my iPhone 6 to iOS10 all my activity watch is gone. I tested this point last week and it seems that "Activity" app does not synchronize your data in the cloud, so if you lose your phone or your watch you will have to start all over again and latest data are lost. This seems to be a huge concern when I spend all this time my overall follow-up and progress. Everyone see what happens if you put to level or restart/reset your watch or your phone?

    Hello

Health and historical activity data is stored on your iPhone. It is not recorded separately in iCloud.

To guard against data loss, be sure to make regular backups of your iPhone.

If the backup via iTunes, make sure to select the option to encrypt iPhone backup (unencrypted backup excludes the sensitive data, including health and activity). iCloud backups are encrypted as standard.
