Application.ini: useLocaleDecimalPt = False

Hi all

I was wondering for a while now. Whenever I'm building an application and an installer, a standard application.ini made with some standard values in there.

I can't understand why I always have to copy useLocaleDecimalPt = False in there.

Is there a way to fix this?

Hi Bjorn,

make an application.ini with all the keys you want.

Then add this ini to your project.

Then choose this ini in the apbuilder to replace the standard aplication.ini with!

• Question about RTTarget.LaunchAppAtBoot in ni - rt.ini

Hello

I'm developing an application on a sbRIO. Sometimes, I want to disable the soft of RT by setting RTTarget.LaunchAppAtBoot = False in the ni - rt.ini, so I can test it in the development environment and use the FPGA interface mode, etc.

If I reboot the sbRIO (power off-> on) RTTarget.LaunchAppAtBoot = False has been set to True once again, without manually edit me or - rt.ini.

What causes this behavior?

Thank you.

In your LabVIEW project, is the RTEXE build specification configured as a "Set as Startup? I think that the LabVIEW project will attempt to "deploy" project settings whenever a VI project is run interactively on the target. So, if this construction technique retains this setting in the project, LabVIEW will delete your .ini FALSE return true token each time that you run an interactive FPGA or RT VI in this project.

I have been unable to verify this behavior, but I suspect that if you choose the option "Unset as start-up", which stop at on the reactivation of your startup application LabVIEW after having defined manual token .ini to FALSE. In general, this method to arm and disarm the RTEXE as a startup application is undoubtedly more effective time to manually edit the .ini file, and I have never had problems with the inconsistent behavior, you are calling when using this method.

• Had to reload operating system and applications data, now can't get firefox to recognize the profile data

My C drive (disk solid state drive), which held my operating system and data from the app crashed. I had it replaced, updated Win 7 to win 10 and have downloaded Firefox. I was able to restore my profile from a Mozy backup data and copied in the Firefox folder. But Firefox resolutely refuses to recognize. I tried using the recovery data from an old profile, but no advantage help page. Tried to use the Manager profile, but without success. When I go to Troubleshooting Information and click on file/Show profile, it comes up with a list of files (files starting with bookmarkbackups, which however is empty, down for webapps, which has the file inside webapps.json), then the files from addons.json down through xulstore.json and the file places.sqlite is 10 240 KB Although there is something in there, but Firefox resolutely refuses to acknowledge my profile, bookmarks, etc..

I'm out of options and ripping my hair out trying to get all my favorites, in which I have a lot of information such as the authentication of data for many favorite sites. It is frustrating that all the information seems to be there, but Firefox ignore all.

Can anyone help?

Such a backup is perhaps a ZIP archive containing all the files into it if it is not a real file, but only one file.

Note is that you replace the file places.sqlite with a copy of the backup that you have to make sure to remove existing places.sqlite - shm and temporary files to SQLite places.sqlite - wal.
Ditto for the other SQLite files that you are restoring.

Have you checked the application.ini file in the backup?

• Firefox opens the file:// instead of application links

I put Windows explorer.exe to open links file://, such as records. On the contrary, Firefox opens in a tab. How can I force to be opened by the external application?

I found the solution: set
"Network.protocol - handler.expose.file = false 'do not be open in FF;
"Network.protocol - handler.external.file = true' to allow an external application;
"noscript.fixURI = false" do not substitute ".expose." parameters of NoScript AddOn.

• Customize Firefox to use different Application Support subfolder?

I have an unusual requirement. I want to have two separate copies of Firefox.app that have identifiers different bundle and keep their profiles in different subfolders of ~/Library/Application Support. For example, Firefox.app with bundle ID org.mozilla.firefox to keep their profiles in ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox and FirefoxAlt.app with bundle ID org.mozilla.firefoxalt would keep her in ~/Library/Application Support/FirefoxAlt.

I know the Profile Manager and it does not meet my needs.

I want to have separate instances of Firefox running simultaneously for different profiles. If I run two instances of the same Firefox.app, using Profile Manager to select a different profile for each, then I get weird behavior when I open URLS in other applications. Basically, it is arbitrary which instance of Firefox gets the open URL.

18.x Firefox, I was able to accomplish what I needed. I duplicated Firefox.app to FirefoxAlt.app changed his bundle ID and bundle name, changed his name = FirefoxAlt application.ini and replaced its executable to be a shell script that invoked the firefox-bin with 'firefox' "-$path/application.ini app»

I just tried to move to Firefox 21 and find that it does not work. FirefoxAlt.app just closes immediately after the launch. Is there a way to accomplish what I want with the current versions of Firefox?

Use the - No.-remote command line switch to open another instance of Firefox with its own profile and to run multiple instances of Firefox at the same time, but don't use no - no - remote with the default browser and the default profile.

See this article on how to install multiple versions on Mac OS x:

• Change of COMMON_APPDATA-path returned to the latest applications

If I install an app built in LabVIEW 2012 2013 on a Windows 7 machine as a service (srvany, with the key RunAsService in the application INI file) on a 64-bit Windows 8.1 or 7 machine - and the application attempts to store data in CSIDL_COMMON_APPDATA, the data ends up in c:\ProgramData.

That's what we always waited.

However, if I create the same application * now * (not only in LV2014 but 2012 as well) and install using exactly the same batch, script and srvany, the pathname returned when the application runs as a service and pray CSIDL_COMMON_APPDATA changed: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\

(This also happens if we use the native system VI instead of a call to the Win32 folder).

Anyone know why? The effect of the key RunAsService on the application itself may be changed (only logic here if 2012 got an update as well), or is this a change in Setup /-or Windows (which, for some reason, does not affect the old application/installer)?

The reason for the change in the path returned APPDATA was simply that the executable not found the key RunAsService in the ini file. We forgot a mistake in the name of the section in the INI file. So if your rusn asks as a service and begins to store data in a subfolder under Windows\SysWow64 or \system32 when you were really aim c:\ProgramData, the problem is probably caused by a lack or incorrectly stored RunAsService-key.

• The value of AllowMultipleInstances in the .ini on Build file

I modified my exe application .ini file manually to add the AllowMultipleInstances = true directive, and it works fine. However, whenever I have reconstitute the applciation, I notice the .ini file is overwritten, and I have to manually add the directive. Is there a way to specify the directive in the build process to avoid the manual step?

I'm under 8.20 LV.

Thank you

-Ted

Hi Ted,

The oldest version I have on hand to refer to is 8.5, but I think you should be able to specify a custom configuration file (ini) in the Advanced section of the property window of the Application (Build specification). You will need to create one keep a version of the ini you want to shoot in the build - in your case, you simply need to add the modified file that you have in your project. Note that this will override the ini which is usually automatically generated, so you need to update if you change the name of the exe file or something of this nature.

• Porting Qt for Qnx Momentics application

Hey, I wanted to know if its possible to transfer my Qt to the Qnx Momentics IDE application. I search everywhere to search to find the documentation or instuctions on how but cannot find information porting of Qt Creator

Basically, that's what I

I carried the Qt for Qt Creator application and have successfully got running on the Alpha of Dev

Now I want to:

1 import / move more Qt App to the IDE from Qnx

2. remove the Qt INTERFACE and rebuild the App for UI in the cascades while keeping the back end qt

So can I keep the rear end of Qt and rebuild this Interface in waterfalls?

If for anoyone can point me to the documentation on how I can move the porject in Qnx Momentics.

NOTE: Im fully aware im not able to mix code UI/Interface Qt with waterfalls. I have to choose one or the other. in this case, I want to replace the user of Qt interface with waterfalls

Thanks in adavnce, happy coding and porting

Yes, QDE is QNX Momentics IDE. I think it is easier to move their inverse:

Create a new project in Momentics, and then move the source one of the old project files in new (with the exception of the classes related to the GUI). And then recreate the GUI.

On QT Creator / waterfalls:

To set up QT Creator, follow the steps on the wiki:

http://Qt-project.org/wiki/setting-up-Qt-Creator-for-BlackBerry-and-QNX

I think you have already done this.

Then create a Qt Quick project (wiki describes this step).

After that remove all Qt Quick related features of the project and add libraries of stunts in the .pro file. This is how my project file looks like this:

TEMPLATE = app

# Please do not modify the following line.
#include(qmlapplicationviewer/qmlapplicationviewer.pri)

# Additional import path used to resolve QML modules in Creator's code model
QML_IMPORT_PATH =

QT += declarative script xmlpatterns xml sql network svg

INCLUDEPATH += src

# Workaround for autocompletion bug
INCLUDEPATH += include include/cpp include/qt4/QtCore include/qt4/QtSql include/qt4/QtNetwork

LIBS += -lbbcascades -lbbcascadesmultimedia -lbbdevice -lbbplatform -lbbpim -lbbdata -lbbcascadespickers -lbbsystem -lbbmultimedia

# The .cpp file which was generated for your project. Feel free to hack it.
SOURCES += main.cpp \
...other cpp files...

OTHER_FILES += bar-descriptor.xml \
qml/main.qml

HEADERS += \
...header files...

Then update file bar - descriptor.xml. You can use the Momentics generated file as a template. Here's my bar - descriptor.xml (replace application_name and paths):

http://www.qnx.com/schemas/application/1.0">
com.mydomain
Application Name
1.0.0
Application Description

none
false
true
portrait

run_native
MyApplication
qml
assets

assets/images/icons/applicationIcon114.png

assets/images/splash/portrait768x1280.jpg
assets/images/splash/portrait720x1280.jpg

After this attempt to create and deploy a simple project of Cascades. If everything is ok, start moving your old project files (file-by-file).

Important:

AutoComplete does not work initially. All stunts and Qt classes will be highlighted in red.

Wiki describes some workaround solutions. The one I use is create a symbolic link in your project file to point to the ndk includes the folder:

lrwxr-xr-x @ staff 1 user 55 15 Dec 19:23 include->/Applications/bbndk/target_10_0_9_1673/qnx6/usr/include

Then, add the following line to the .pro file:

INCLUDEPATH += include include/cpp include/qt4/QtCore include/qt4/QtSql include/qt4/QtNetwork

Autocompletion should work after that. I use Qt Creator on MacOS, this may not apply to the version of Windows.

• List of switching applications

Hi, I already asked about it here, but he wasn't real solution for my problem.

So I try once more...

I want to add a feature to my app, hidden in list of applications switching (Alt + ESC).

I have the following code:

public boolean keyChar(char key, int status, int time)
{
if(Application.getApplication().isForeground())
{
Application.getApplication().requestBackground();
//Do something to remove from switch application list.
return false;
}
}

Can someone help me with the commented line?

Thank you!

Just add to your class that extends UiApplication

protected boolean acceptsForeground() {}

Returns false;

}

• 6 Android: Stage3D AIR application cannot return background

Description of the problem:

AIR for android app with < application android: hardwareAccelerated = "true" > will get stuck and not respond if brought to the foreground from the background in Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).

We did a few test with Nexus (6.0 Android) device and were able to reproduce the issue with the sample of Starling project.

App could not continue when tried to switch between apps twice, while our application is not the first time.

Reproduction:

Application was packed with latest AIR SDK (19.0.0.213), Nexus 5 / 7 (both 6 Android)

App should continue to run, but in reality stucks (black screen) and the operating system invites you to put end unreponsive app on the second attempt to bring it to the foreground.

Disabling hardware acceleration seems to bypass the question, at the cost of performance. (< application android: hardwareAccelerated = "false" >)

We would like to hear other developers who tested their app (especially the Stage3D apps) in Android 6 Marshmallow.

Currently we have no other choice than to tell clients to refrain from upgrading their version of the OS.

Hey Rony,

6 Android crash problem when targetSDK is set to 23 has been fixed in 20 AIR beta.

We are still working on the problem of crash after application returns background.

Thank you

• LV 8.6f1 - different decimal point to the development & exe

Hello

In my program I want to use the decimal point '. ' and not the local symbol of the PC.

So, I turned this option in the category "FAÇADE".

In the development system, it works very well on the screen and in the recorded data (*.lvm & *.xls) files the "." will be used.

But when I create a my program exe file it will be always used a ',' as the decimal separator (on the same computer and screen in all the saved data files).

Can someone help me?

Jan

LV 8.6f1

The option is stored in the file LabVIEW.ini. This is what is used by the development environment. When you build an exe, the exe is using application_name.ini. So copy the configuration ini (useLocalDecimalPt = False) to application_name.ini, and who understand the distribution of your application.

• duplicates of files and the directory of files

Currently using 37.0.2
Note that in my file directory I have two folders in Mozilla Firefox.

We have dates April 2015.
The other has dates February 2014.

Safely remove the record February 2014 and its subdirectories?

Thank you

There are also some old files Visual Studio 8 with a number added to the screenshot.

You already have a Windows system restore?

Yes, you can delete this folder.
If you want to know which version of Firefox, it is then you can check the application.ini file in a text editor via 'open with '.

• Firefox 36.0.4 not working on Windows 8.1, this error ZULRunner

"Platform version is not compatible with 36.0.4.
minVersion < = 36.0.3
"maxVersion > = 36.0.3.
↑ the error I get from ZULrunner

This happens usually due to a failed update of Firefox that left you with a mixture of old and the updated files in the Firefox program folder, then in this case, the application.ini file is still the previous version of Firefox 36.0.3 and not the current Firefox 36.0.4 release.
This is usually caused by security software that keeps a handle on some files.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.

• Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

• (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
• (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.

If you keep problems also create a new profile.
