Archive a backup iOS with iTunes on a PC

I want to check my back upwards into iTunes so that I can try the beta of iOS 10. When I go into Preferences > devices > backup device I can point to back up that I want to archive, but when I use CTRL + 'click' I do not get the submenu to archive. I know that's the way I've archived on my mac mini, but since changing to a PC using Windows 10 I can't seem to find a way to archive. Is there another way or something because I don't want the beta iOS without it.

Hi Philogic,

I understand that you want to archive your backup iOS, but you don't see the context menu for it. I know it's important to be able to have a copy of security of your backups, so I'm happy to provide some clarification for this.

You're definitely on the right track with your steps so far. Since you are using Windows, however, instead of ctrl + click, you just right click of the backup. You will find the following menu is what you are used to.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support, cheers!

Hello. I tried to install ios 9.3.4 on my phone but I can't. It says "an error install iOS ' then I tried it with itunes on my computer (windows 10) it says not"enough space for it. " But I 127 GB of space in my computer.

I'm guessing that you don't have enough space on your iPhone, (and not on your computer).  See the section 'Delete happy' manually in:

  • cannot sync with itunes 12.2.5 10 iphone ios

    Hello

I left the iOS 10 update happens on my iPhone 5.  I use an old 10.7.5 iMac to do all the backups of my iDevice.  Now, if I connect the phone to the iMac and click the button 'Trust The Computer' on the phone, iTunes 12.2.5 says "invalid response received from the device" and does not connect to it.

10 iOS devices work is no longer with iTunes 12.2.5?  It's obviously the last version that will run on OSX 10.7.5.  So I will now upgrade my computer at home because I upgraded my phone software.

    Hello

I'm afraid you will have to upgrade your OS X to 10.9.5 or newer to allow you to use iTunes 12.5.1 that supports iOS 10.

  • iOS 10 takes a lot of time synchronization and backup iPad to iTunes

Has anyone noticed that it takes unusually long to synchronize and back up their iPad to iTunes after that 10 updated iOS?

What used to take three minutes, it's now at least 15 minutes. My iTunes is up to date.

Thanks for ideas or confirmations of this accident.

I noticed the same problem with my iPhone 6. Synchronization and backup with iTunes takes about twice as long. All software are up to date.

  • iPhone 5 (iOS 10.0.2) with iTunes (12.5.1), sync has failed to start.

Hello, yesterday I bought an iPhone 5 with iOS 10.0.2 and while I am trying to sync it with iTunes 12.5.1, an error saying that: "I phone cannot synchronize because sync could not be started."

So far, I tried to re - open iTunes and try new but no luck, I also deleted the last device back upwards (as it has been mentioned as a solution on a forum), but didn't work. I also tried to do it after I closed all the applications on my phone and restart it but no luck. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

  • IOS 10 is compatible with iTunes 12.2.2?

My MacBook is old, and the last Mac OS can I run 10.7, which means that the last version of iTunes that I can run is 12.2.2. This allows to work with my iPad without problem from the Air, but never worked with my iPhone IS initially provided with iOS 9.

The iPad don't often synchronize with my MacBook as it backs up from iCloud, but I wanted to put a few audio tracks on it. I tried today and it does not work. I get an error message "iTunes could not connect to the iPad" * iPad "because an invalid response was received from the device."

I get the same messages with my iPhone SE. My guess now is the iOS 10 did update my MacBook even more obsolete by not being able to sync with my iPad. I searched around and can't find any configuration required for iTunes for iOS 10, so I'm not 100% it is the case.

Is there any solution for this? Or is my correct guess, that iOS 10 is not compatible with iTunes 12.2.2?

In addition, if it is not compatible, if someone has a solution of how to get music from my MacBook on my iPad (I noticed Amazon Music allows me to download tracks and then download them on my iPad, but with a limit) then I would appreciate if you could share!

    Thank you

    I'm afraid you're right. IOS10 requires iTuses 12.5

As workaround solutions, I'm sorry, I don't have. I'm not a mac I have sync music on.

  • Still having problems with Itunes after music updated to iOS 9.3.2

How can I solve the problems created by the software update Apple iOS 9.3.2 lost all my music will not restore using itunes etc

What questions are you talking? Music of Apple, it's where you posted what you use? What music has been lost? It's all in your Apple's music. The rest should be in your iTunes library on your computer. I have almost 2K songs in my iTunes library and they have all been there since the very beginning, across all iOS and iTunes updates.

What happens when you try to restore your phone to iTunes? What it the music has to do with whatever settings you have for music and once again, depends on your participation with music Apple or any other service.

Try it please take a moment to build a question, describing what occurred, what device you use, what computer OS you use, and what troubleshooting steps you tried to correct. In addition, you use the services of Apple, and have you backed up your phone and your computer.

No preference, but there is a solution. See moving backup iOS device. See the rest of the tip of the user to do a split cell library if the library files and the media folder are on different drives.

  • iOS on iPod Touch 5g 9 works with iTunes 10.7?

    * sigh * it's hard when something needs to be changed and that means that everything else could fall like dominoes!

Had to give up my iPod ooooold and now I am looking to buy a used iPod Touch 5th generation, but I need to be sure that it can work with the iTunes on my Mac.

I don't know if it's the material that must be compatible (in which case any occasion 5 g will be fine for me) or the iOS?

I know that the 5g would work with iTunes 10.7 initially, but as I understand it, the iOS is automatically upgraded to 9.x when the 'old' is wiped out and restarted... so can a used 5g with iOS 9 works for me, or I'm stuck?

(And if I'm stuck, is a 4 used old enough that he will not automatically at level that far?)

The last iOS, 9.2.1 requires iTunes 112,3 or later.

For a Mac mean OSX 10.8.5 or later version.

For a PC Win 7 or later

  • What are the contents in the backup of iPod touch 5G on iMac with iTune?

I just made a backup of my iPod touch 5G on iMac with iTune, to my surprise, after the backup, I check the size of the backup copy, less than 1 G, and my iPod touch its use is more of 10G. So wonder what content on my iPod touch were backupped? I thought that all the APPS, iBook, materials, Photos, Podcast materials would be included in the backup, seems they aren't, otherwise, my backup folder may not be less than 1 G.

  • IOS 9.2 allow iPod Touch to be used with iTunes 9.11?

iPod Touch running IOS 9.0.2 cannot be used with iTunes 11.4 on a MacBook with OS X 10.6.8.  9.2 IOS solves this problem?  (Cannot downgrade to IOS 8).

It is not a problem to solve.

9 IOS and above is not compatible with iTunes 11 and there is no reason to believe that he will never be.

You must update your iTunes on your computer and your operating system on your computer, if your computer is fairly new to upgrade the software.

    Greetings Dani56777,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!

I understand that you run Windows 10 and you must update iTunes to the latest version so that your iPhone will be recognized when connected. I do not know if you receive an error when you try to update iTunes or not.

If you need information on how to update iTunes, please follow the instructions in the following link.

Download the latest version of iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

If you receive an error or alert, you can consider removing iTunes and all of its associated components and then reinstalling fresh iTunes on your computer. That would give you the latest version of iTunes. If you need execute this process, please follow the steps described in the following article.

Remove iTunes Control Panel and its associated components

Use the control panel to uninstall iTunes and software components in the following order:

    1. iTunes
    2. Apple Software Update
    3. Apple Mobile Device Support
    4. Hello
    5. Apple Application Support 32-bit
    6. Apple Application Support 64-bit

On some systems, iTunes can install two versions of the Apple Application Support. What is expected. If both are present, do not forget to uninstall both versions.

Do these elements in a different order, uninstall or uninstall only some of them. This could have unintended effects. After you uninstall a component, you may be asked to restart your computer. Wait to restart your computer until you finish remove all components.

Remove and reinstall iTunes and software for Windows 7 and later versions - Apple Support components

    Have a great day!
