• CS3 Too many Activations

  Hi all

  After several years of not using CS, I'm trying to reinstall my suite CS3 on my current computer.

  When I try to activate using my original software keys (one for Acrobat Pro, one for the CS Suite), I got the error message "too many Activations" and am directed to enter another key or buy a new product.

  I attempted to use the Adobe Chat support, but was first transferred to volume license, and then says CS3 was is longer supported via Chat support (both times after long discussions and waiting and having provided software keys and version numbers at the front).

  Because I have more access to the (much longer) machine, on which it was installed, I have no way to disable. And without the support of someone from Adobe in order to reset the activation counter, it looks like I'm stuck buying another copy :-/

  Any suggestions?

  Adobe support should help you.  Sometimes you get a person who does not know how to help or even that they should help.  Retry.

• DW CS3 too many activations on my license?

  I'm getting one too many activations on my DW CS3 license. I disabled it from my old laptop and uninstalled on the pressure would be the machine. I installed it on the new machine and I'm not too many activations and my 30 day trial has expired. I placed several calls to adobe. The first call, the man assured me that this would be resolved, but still not good. I used the chat on adobe feature. com and was transferred to two different people trying to help me when in the end, they said to come here. I also asked a phone number to talk to a live person, who informed me that they do not supports this old product on the phone, and only in the forums. Can someone help me?

  Since your CS3 is a volume serial number license it will work to activate the version of CS3 volume. It won't work for the retail version because the Setup is different. Please download the installation via the site Licensing media: Adobe worldwide license purchase?

  Adobe allows two simultaneous activations of CS3, so if the software has been installed and enabled on both computers before, you will need to disable one or both of them to perform a new installation. On the old computer, start a CS3 application. From the Help menu choose Help > Deactivate > permanently disable: Learn how to enable or disable Adobe applications.

  If you do not have access to old computers to disable, you will need to contact customer service via chat and ask them to reset your activations. Cat representatives are unable to technical troubleshooting for older products like CS3, but they can help with licensing and activation. FYI, Adobe have reset your activations will delete the information about the licenses of all your computers, so you'll need to reactivate the computers currently in use.

• LR6 will not install on my laptop, too many activations

  I installed Lightroom on two computers, I so disliked, I their revenue to uninstall Lightroom factory configuration and returned the computers to the retailer. I then installed Lightroom on a desktop without a problem, but when I installed on the laptop that I bought it told too many activations. I have returned laptops that I didn't like, I have only one laptop and one desktop computer now, how can I get the LR6 to install on my laptop? I don't have access to the first two portable computers that I wiped clean and returned. I guess my mistake was, I uninstalled the LR6 but do not deactivate the license.

• CS3 Web Premium "too many activations" error

  We have 8 volume of Web Premium CS3 licenses using the same license key. These were all installed on computers that are running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.

  Recently, we had to switch to new machines and uninstalled the software without realizing it had to be disabled everything first.  Now, when you try to install the software we are presented with the error message "too many activations.

  After reading online we tried to reinstall the software on the original machines in order to turn them off but are presented with the same "too many activations" error if this is not possible either.

  We contacted Adobe support on the phone and via online chat, but they were of no help and suggested that we talk to the experts on the Adobe forum.

  Is it possible for the latter to be disabled by Adobe so that we can install the software on the new machine?

  CS3 is not supported in terms of Technical Support. Activation is a totally different issue.

  Back on the phone and ask to speak with the supervisor of a supervisor, until you get someone who understands your problem is activation. There is no time limit on the support of activation.

  And no, there is absolutely nothing that anyone on these forums can do to help with activation limit issues.

  We are sorry to hear of this frustrating experience. I just checked your CS3 serial number and found that it is a volume license number. When you reinstalled you installed from the original DVD? You have access to our site Licensing? Adobe Licensing Web site. Serial numbers | Orders | Accounts

  Because the licenses products use no activation (which explains some of the answers from the chat agent and confusion), looks like you were installing a regular version of CS3, not the version of licenses.

  I have reset your account activation to 6 (on the computers and devices - such as the Sony Reader).  Regards the AdobeID gave you the support was a gmail address and the AdobeID actually allows you to activate with, done from your domain name.

• Too many Activations & Sony Ebook library...

  Is there a problem with having ADE and the Sony software running on the same PC (and/or the Adobe account)? I started with ADE, because my said bookstore that I needed (before getting my sony drive) and then installed the sony software later. After buying a book that was readable in ADE I wanted to transfer to my new drive using the sony software, but something went wrong and I ended up having to enter my ID adobe, whenever I passed between software, resulting in an error of "too many activations. Assuming that it was my fault, I thought take the hit on the an ebook that I bought and try again on another account. Needless to say, the same thing happened again, and I now spent £14 on two books that I can't read or transfer to a device sony of every piece of software!

  I opened a folder with support (case #0181257116) a few weeks previously and had a response by saying he is "passed at high level", whatever that means. Anyone know if it's just because I have two pieces of software on the same PC? It is recommended by a couple of people that I should dismiss both offshore and go with what is called gauge - suggestions?

  First of all, I apologize for the dismal state of our technical support.
  In the meantime, I have reset the activations for both of your accounts.
  The library of Sony and ADE share activation information, I suggest to keep an Adobe ID and then you should be able go back between the two without any problems. However, this creates a problem for you because you have books for the two identifiers. There is no way to consolidate the two AdobeIDs that leaves you just a few options:

  1. Choose the AdobeID you have the least with books.
     For these books, contact the support for the store and ask to be able to re-download books (specifically mention that you had a problem of AdobeID and need "a new transaction ID").
  2. Manage two accounts - create a separate operating system user account - allow ADE or Sony EBL on this account with the least used AdobeID and copy books allowed this AdobeID to this account.
     (Yes, I understand that it is a completely ugly hack, but I forget in case 1. is not possible).

  Note: your Sony Reader can be allowed for an AdobeID.
