as soon as I open firefox the little color wheel appears and I can't do anything, how can I fix?

Once I open firefox the wheel little colored appears (which is called?) and does not do anything else. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but the problem persists. I would try the reset option, but the color wheel preventing from doing anything on Firefox. I use a MAC (OS 10.8.4). I have two Macs and the same problem occurs on both. Any suggestions? Thank you

Features of Firefox Reset drop your old settings in a folder on your desktop named old data from Firefox. I suggest to keep this record for a few weeks (you can drag it to a new location if you wish) in case you should dig up any old data settings.
