  • I can't activate my windows key after hardware change

Due to the failure of the material, I had to Exchange my card motherboard and CPU.  Now, I can't get my windows key 7 to activate.  When I try to activate online I get error 0x80072efe code.  When I try the phone option automated I get the error code 0 x 0000048.  I tried phone support, but does not include support staff.

I'd love to.  But no country option and no phone number are displayed. Just error 0 x 0000048, a non-specific error code. I drag the menu asking countries, but no option is available.

Your report MGADiag indicates that Windows spotted the hardware changes - and he will need to phone Activation.
If you let us know where you are, we can look at the number for you :)

  • I have a windows not valid error. and he asks me to activate windows again.

    * Original title: Troubleshooting

Running Windows 7, 64 bit on my laptop 1440 dell. ive never changed hardware or software in this laptop. But suddenly I have a windows not valid error.

and he asks me to activate windows again... they want me to pay for the new license. Ive tried to go through the process and all the scenarios that they want me to buy a new one. Dell does not seem to have an opinion on what to do otherwise than to send me to the activation process. I ran anti virus and anti malware. has no results. Any idea?

I suggest that you run the diagnostic tool Microsoft Genuine Advantage in normal mode and copy and paste the results into a response for further analysis:

Run the tool and when it ends, click the copy button, open a text such as Word or Notepad file and select Edit, paste. You can paste directly into an answer here. Open a response, right click and select Paste.

  • Help, please! Got an old computer xp, when I turn it on it asks me to activate windows now...

Please help, I put in the Installation ID over the phone, and it says its not valid.

I tried to call tech support, but he said the key requested is not valid? I don't know what to do :(
I got a computer that my sister received a colleague for Christmas. Worked very well, my brother-in-law, messed with it today, replaced the motherboard and now when I turn it on it asks me to "activate Windows".
I really don't want to have to rebuy Windows...

Unfortunately, this is probably what you're going to do, buy another copy of Windows (or another computer).  When Windows comes pre-installed on a computer, the Windows installation is allowed on this computer and cannot be moved to another.  In order to have a component to show up and say: "it is the computer that I came!", this component is the motherboard.  Now that yours has been replaced, the Windows license that came with the old motherboard is zero and cannot be used any longer.

  • I am running xp pro so why they ask me to activate Windows 7?

    activate windows 7?

I am running xp pro so why they ask me to activate Windows 7?

XP has been activated years ago? now, they say both need equipment to enable the garbage.

There is nothing wrong with your report that I can see - so you should not receive not authentic or notice of activation.

The notification came at one time and then disappear later?

If Yes, then it is probably due to a "race condition", where two programs or more are fighting for the possession of a file--in this case, it prevents the system WGA, checking the status of the operating system, resulting in the notification. A plus later re - test then clears the air.

The addition of SH Devolo may have been the straw that broke the back - is the amount of RAM on the system? XP SP2 requires at least 512 MB for a reasonable speed, so if your system has less, I'd say you are trying to upgrade if possible.

  • Pop box on computer asking me to activate windows.

I have a box come up on my computer asks me to activate windows, I have a copy saved Windows xp already and have done so for 3 years. This is the first time he came, what is a virus or a pirate? It seems that it is from Microsoft but told me to ignore it, it says I have 3 days to activate it.  It is said to reduce software piracy to activate windows now.

Try to activate again. If the online activation does not work, try the phone activation. If your computer has a sticker of COA above with your key, you can change the Windows key to him.

    Hi JaneMcDonald,

Yes, you can go ahead and activate Windows XP, as it could be a possibility that the software license file may have been changed due to some changes.

  • I can't activate Windows because I am a foreigner. What should I do to be activated?

    Product reactivation postpoing - overseas

    Hi all

I'm completely freak out because I'm a foreigner on the ground and I just installed Parallels to use my data analysis software only windows on my bootcamp on my MacLaptop score. Windows XP is now telling me that I need to reactivate in 3 days, which is impossible because I'm a foreigner and my product activation key is stored securely with all my other stuff. What should I do?

There is no reason why you should not be able to activate abroad if your key is originally from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia (or a number of other areas) - reactivated simply by telephone, if the Internet Activation fails.
