Aspire 5551-2384 on Windows 10 gel

My Aspire 5551 will not run Windows-10 more than 15 minutes approximately. The laptop has a Crucial SSD mx-100, which was installed and run on Windows 7. Windows-10 is uptodate.

Task Manager shows 100% disk usage even if it is minimal, IO Federal which tapers gradually about a.1 MB/s in about 10 seconds after that 100% appears.

Invoking a task completes with an windows not responding do not message.  Sometimes, File Explorer will work if called.

I understand that Acer is no longer supporting this model, nevertheless Micrsoft said this is avalid system.

I've tried every tip/solution reported in the community forum and microsoft windows-10. Has anyone had this problem with this laptop? and if anyone has found a sustainable solution?

Good for you! It was the kind of a 'last resort' suggestion that I thought that you really don't want to hear again before trying a few other less drastic measures! Let us know how it goes.

  • Aspire 5551 charging problem

Hi, I have and acer Aspire 5551 and I purchased 4 years ago. and recently the battery does not charge when I plug in the adapter, but it does sometimes when the laptop is turned off. I think theres a problem in the battery or an adapter, but I'm not sure.

I try to charge my laptop and it does not load and the battery icon does not load. Sometimes, if a disconnect the adapter and replace it it works for only a few minutes. I just wanted to know, would I need a new adapter? or a new battery?

Ok. Initially, you said that sometimes it loads for a few minutes if you unplug and then plug in the connector to the laptop or the laptop is off. While it is true that this could indicate a battery or Charger problem, I guess the battery leakage of current internal given its age - this would overload the charger and could stumble esp if the laptop was on. I would first try a new battery because they are relatively cheap as shown in this Amazon link. http://www.Amazon.com/replacement-laptop-battery-aspire-4400mAh/DP/B005TFONMC/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1 _...

The Chargers aren't that expensive either so you want to order one at the same time in order to qualify for free delivery Amazon. 8 ^) http://www.Amazon.com/4730Z-4631-5732Z-4437-5810T-8233-7741Z-4633-AS5552-3691/DP/B00763W35Y/Ref=sr_s...

  • Intel(r) HD Graphics Family Driver does not not for Aspire S7-392 in Windows 10

    Hello

I have improved my Aspire S7 - 392 to Windows 10 a few weeks ago, and while most things seem to work properly, the driver for the graphics card Intel (R) HD Graphics Family had the yellow exclamation of 'something is wrong' next to him since. Now, I am unable to connect my laptop on the external monitor that I use for work (as nothing happens when I do), and graphics performance are visibly slowed (point of use) when playing games still fairly weak demand.

Which would seem to indicate that there is a pretty big problem with drivers. I spent literally 10 hours on the phone with Microsoft Client service tries to understand the question, but all they could tell me after a fairly intensive survey was that they knew not what it was and wait for updates from Acer or Intel driver.

I have the latest driver on the Acer support site installed (although it doesn't seem to be one specifically for Windows 10) and I rolled back and updated and tried several versions of the drivers from there, but all seem to have the same problem.

I also downloaded Windows 10 Intel drivers that are supposed to be specially for my processor and graphics configuration, but when I try to install, it says that my computer does not meet the requirements (which is quite confusing when I have the exact material, so that the driver is designed).

I searched these forums for support for other users of the S7 Aspire with similar problems and for people with features of Intel(r) HD Graphics Family have similar problems, but can't seem to find anything.

My apologies if this has actually been discussed elsewhere, but no help at all with this issue would be appreciated. Windows 10 has been out for a while now, so I was hoping that a solution had been found to do this, since there must be a certain S7 users out there.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any ideas/advice,.

    Oli

    1. download the "Intel Driver Update" utility

    2. go manage the devices and uninstall/remove your Intel graphics driver

    3. run the Intel driver update utility.

Your current graphics driver is a custom OEM Acer/Intel graphics driver.  This is why it will not let you install.  If the generic driver update utility that installs does not quite work right, then you go back to the driver that is located on the site of the Acers.

If don't want to use the Intel utility driver update, then you will need to download the zip file of the driver instead of the driver .exe... and then use the disk method 'have' to install it. It is probably easier to use only the update of the Intel driver utility.

  • updated drivers on Aspire 5551

I've never updated my drivers on my acer aspire 5551. How can I know which ones to upgrade?

Hi, to answer your question you would need basically know the version number of your drivers, because they are on your machine and then go to the Acer site and get the drivers for your computer and see if they are newer on the site other wise if your components of your system are well known enough, you may be able to use the drivers from the parent company...

Alternatively, you can get a third-party program called slimdrivers and it will let you know what you need to upgrade and actually download and install it.

P.S. a condition on slimdrivers site can be a bit tricky to navigate from a trial program, there is a lot of advertising on the site.

original title: Acer Aspire 5000 XP to Windows 7

I recently updated my Acer Aspire in XP to Windows 7 5000. The process went well, but now he says it detects all audio devices. I checked the control panel and go to the sound section and it says that no devices are installed. Also, I am having some problems with graphics (a few black lines appear every now and then). I'd appreciate your help with this. Thank you!

There are no Windows 7 drivers for your model, something that you should have checked before the upgrade.

There are Vista drivers on the Acer site which may operate, but don't hold your breath...

Well, I solved the problem myself, but thanks for the help anyway.

Fortunately, Acer has created what is called "Acer eRecovery. I recommend it to anyone who has this problem, or any other. Basically, this option resets your entire system. Make sure that you back up your important files if, everything you forgot to back up will be gone!
I'm glad my problem is solved, it was really bothering me for a while.

  • Acer Aspire TimelineX 3820 t - Windows Update - Synaptics Touch Pad conflict

    Hello

I just bought an Acer Aspire TimelineX, 3820 T. It's like a Synaptics Touchpad, which works fine until I do a Windows Update. Once I do the update of Windows, the touch pad doesn't work. Even if it works, there is no control over the touchpad. It is an old laptop of the week and I won't send it to Service Center for repair. Also, I'm afraid to get Exchange of the same model, since it is a software problem with Windows update and could be the same thing with another of the same model. I disabled the Windows Update and there is no problem since then. But with the new laptop, I cannot deal with Windows update and will be updated soon.

    Help, please!

Welcome & thank you for your comments but I said nothing about disabling the automatic update from Windows Update.
