  I am trying to install Windows on an Aspire 8.1 s3-951. The computer has two drives, a 20 GB SSD for the startup, then a larger storage drive. Before I removed Windows 7, Windows displays only a large disk. I installed Windows 8.1 on the SSD, but I can't understand how to make window think them as a single disk.

  This problem has been reported after that install some recently released update of windows... Currently the ability to perform a restore of the system to an earlier date. You can also try to uninsatlling updates of windows manually from Control Panel > windows update.

  My friend lend me his S3 Aspire. The PC is perfectly fine, except the screen is broken. He has already twice (just open...), so we are not spending money on a third.
  So, I want to do is to connect to an external monitor via HDMI (and possibly remove broken screen, because it has no use). I can do it on Windows, but not outside of Windows (BIOS) and I would like to install Windows 8.1 or 10. So my question is: can I force out boot HDMI? If Yes, how, if not, should what alternatives I install a new version o Windows without having to spend a small fortune?

  There is no settings on the BIOS to force HDMI as the first video output but I honestly don't know if seen not HDMI connected will automatically force as primary monitor.

  I am implemented tring to update from 4 GB to 16 GB, using the 4 slots available.  When you insert a pair in the 2nd Bank (under keyboard), the PC dies... light up but the screen stays off.  The other banks work well (they are the pair of 8GB).

  Memory modules are the G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-8GBSQ.

  Any ideas?  Solutions?

  The max mmry on this unit is 16 GB.

  Thank you for proving more information. Yes it's true. 2 memory locations become active if you are running an Intel i7 2620M or i7 2630QM CPU and so your 16Gig will be active. Even if you run 2x8gig, only 8gig will be recognized because the bios will only read up to 16gig so recognizes one of the mentioned i7 processor.

  BIOS has been updated recently, as well as the touchpad.

  Sometimes my keyboard doesn't work, more specifically a set of keys: B N Y U H 7 and 8.

  Do not despair, here is the solution that has worked for me so far and didn't make me replace my keyboard like this man here says - what a waste of money.

  (1) type in your search for windows: regedit.
  2) go to computer > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > setting > Services

  (3) scroll i8042prt (it's the name of my PS/2 keyboard in the system).

  4) go to Enum > make sure your files NextInstance and Count are on hexadecimal number "1".

  That's all.

  Since I posted this, I've not had problems with the keyboard at all.

  I hope that this will be your solution as well!

  I recommend installing Acer Philips (drawn from the acer site) so you are able to see what available drivers, you can install and keep your laptop up-to-date. And no, Acer did not a driver update for the keyboard.

  No, because they are two very different types of keyboard and are not interchangeable. You wouldn't be able to mount the v5-531 keyboard on your 5750g properly.

  No, because your motherboard will not have a connection to the backlight cable.
