Aspire switch 10 factory backup recovery

Performed factory recovery backup on USB 32 GB, such as recommended by the Aspire manual switch of 10 who said "a minimum of 16 GB of space would be needed.  Instructions on the required 8 GB just says Backup screen. Backup actually resumed only 5.8 GB!  Back up again in another 32GB USB drive to check it & took only 5.8 GB.  Neither the manual nor the backup screen are seemingly correct as to the amount of space is required. Why this discrepancy?  I don't know if I have a good backup, or not since I'm only 5.8 GB on my USB on both of my attempts. Had a similar problem with backup drivers & Applications.  Manual says it may take several DVDs, but backup screen indicates that a single disc, or about 0.33 GB.  This backup twice and both times I got on my key USB was a shortcut for 1 KB for the 'resource centre', whatever either!  Has anyone else had similar results.  It would seem that two backups could be made on a 8 GB USB key if my results are correct.

Yes, there are some differences on the recovery of the backup.

I suggest you to use the windows built-in 8.1 instead of the Acer erecovery utility.

You can make a complete image of the system, so you don't have to reinstall everything (programs, settings) on a USB key and create a support to boot from USB and re - load the image of the system and help you solve problems starting recovery.

I suggest you do a system image when you have all your programs installed and tested the system is stable.

I bought the Acer Aspire Switch 10 SW5-012-16GW removable 2 in 1 windows mobile touchscreen (64 GB) 8.1 the 30/11/201 of the Amazon.

After two days, I couldn't not on the internet due to some errors of proxy server. I also noticed there were many installed junkies.

So, I would have a complete cleaning to reset to the factory settings. Much would appreciate if someone can show me the steps. Amazon box did not come with any CD system.

    Thank you very much!

The hard drive on startup recovery
    1. turn on your computer, and then press Alt> + F10> during startup. A
will appear asking you to choose the configuration of the keyboard.
    2. several options are now presented. Click on Troubleshooting.
    3. click on refresh your PC or reset your PC.

    Note
"Refresh your PC" allows you to restore your computer to the default factory
condition with intact files. 'Reset your PC' removes completely all your files

  • Install the new hard drive, I have no os or backup recovery disks

I have a HP G62-340US notebook pc-product # XH066UA #ABA, OS is windows 7 64 bit.   The hard drive does not work so I'm relpacing with a new.  I have no os disks and any backup recovery.  When I turn on the laptop there that peripheral black splash screen States 3FO hard drive not found.

My question is that I don't know what drives I need to order at HP to reformat my laptop.  Again, I have no backup disk or any disks. I lost everything on the laptop. which is ok.  So it's like I'm starting with a blank slate.

Should I order the kit Media Ststem recovery for consumer notebook, which is a set of 4 discs?   and that's all that I need to install to return to the State wherever it was when I bought it new.  Are there other discs that I need to order or just that?

Thank you very much for your help.

    Hello

You just order a SET of recovery disks and this disc set will bring your machine to update 1 than why we call back to factory settings. Please check how to order from the following link:

  • Acer Aspire switch 10 - Boot USB / Windows 8.1 installation of USB

    Hello
I recently bought Switch 10. As it has only 32 GB SSD cut into 24 GB of windows and 8 GB partition for recovery, I tried to merge these partition to get rid of the recovery and have only a single partition SSD. Longbstory short, I failed and got a blue screen, then a restart and now I have this:
    http://i.imgur.com/NmAkhgO.jpg

I have Windows 8.1 the official site of Microsoft, I have orginal CDkey (not OEM Acer's). The version I downloaded is a 32/64-bit Installer (I think, but it can be 32-bit only)
I tried to configure the BIOS by myself, but it always puts me the blue screen of windows (with error 0000225).
I provided the BIOS with the default settings screens: http://imgur.com/a/jtyN2

I prepared the USB stick to a .iso image with a program called Rufus, GPT partitioning system.

Then I changed the BIOS settings to allow non-secure startup and boot from USB HDD first, and when you start, I hit F12. But I still get that: http://imgur.com/yE48diG

-What would I do? Be able to start Windows 8.1 installator, clear all partitions on SSD and make sure that you have a 32GB with windows.
-What I need? Help, because I can not boot from USB and run Windows 8.1 installator.

I found the solution, everything works fine.

To do this, you must keep two things in mind:

    1. you may not use Microsoft official .iso for the USB program - it does create a bootable USB stick for UEFI bios, the official downloader for Windows have the ability to create USB bootable .iso downloaded, but it is not able to do.

You must create bootable ISO using software of Rufus (type simpy rufus in google or LINK), then all you have to do is to make sure that you have selected GPT partition scheme for your bootable usb key and the FAT32 file system.

    2. the most improtant thing which is our Acer Aspire Switch 10 supports ONLY 32-bit Windows, just all the instalators Windows that contains the version 64 bits are wrong. Conclusion is simple, you need only 32 bits instalator, the 32-bit/64-bit custom works (like only instalation of 64-bit that is obvious)

    Hope this has helped.

  • Aspire switch 10 sound problem

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my aspire switch 10 sound, there is a red cross on the sound icon.

and I tried several times to do factory reset and install the updates again it's always the same problem.

It has suddenly stopped working. help please, thank you.

It's what worked after some trial and error.  Go to Device Manager > view > show hidden devices. If you have other devices > IWD Aud-Device_6, uninstall it. Then restart your system. Go to Acer supports downloads of drivers for your model. Download Realtek Audio Platform Installer from pilots and quick access. Install Reltek and then restart the system. Install quick access, then restart. Finally install the drivers for the platform. Restart and you should have sound.

  • Aspire Switch 10 does not light: 10 Windows Installer failure problem or coincidence?

Greetings! I have an Aspire Switch 10 originally running Windows 8.1 32-bit with Bing, which is a little less than a year. I had not used for several months, so in the course of a few days had been the installation updates which have been missed, while it was not in use. Yesterday, the update of Windows 10 presented, I ran the utility, which determines whether the system can be updated and then decides to go, despite some reservations about it based on horror stories that others have shared with me. But I thought that the relatively 'new' OS on it mitigate the risk to some extent. Maybe not so much. I'm not a professional computer, but have done enough hardware and DIY software over the past 20 years that I thought I might give this a go with limited risk, but in hindsight should have been more careful because the operating system is rather an essential component of the computer.

Download was fine, and the installation started and was about 19% when I had to leave unexpectedly for a few hours, so I don't know what happened during this time, or when the installation has stagnated. I went back to a completely black screen and a unit that does not turn on no matter what I try. I spent several hours last night looking and try different ideas on how to at least get it lights up, while I might try some of the other patches. No luck at all.

I thought I had created a recovery file, but I can't find a flash drive with one, if my memory fails me on creating a file of recovery, or lost it. Anyway, since I can't get the unit running, I'm not sure he would do any good if I had one in hand or bought an Acer.

The camera has a little less than 3 weeks left on the hub of the manufacturer and is subsequently under an extended warranty from Costco. However, the extended warranty does not cover problems caused by software or applications, so if it is a problem that was probably caused by the installation of Windows 10, I'm stuck with a brick or will continue to try to fix it myself or find a computer local store who might be able to help without the cost more than what I paid for it originally.

All the advice, assistance, are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Here's an update on my problem. This morning, I had a live chat with a support of Acer person. After a last-ditch effort to revive my machine from me, the conclusion was what I thought: the BONES disappeared. Fortunately, because the model is one that supports Acer for Windows 10 and my machine is still under warranty, the repair (original reinstallation of the operating system) will be covered by the warranty. The downside is that there is no local service center, so it needs to be shipped to Texas.

Needless to say I'm going to stick with the original OS as soon as I get it back.

  • Acer aspire switch 10 no boot device

Hello, I am working on an Acer Aspire Switch 10 2 in 1 (there so no usb port and no cd drive) when I turn it on it flashes Acer logo for a second and then jump to "No boot device" with an image of a hard drive and a magnifying glass. This was not the case before. I could get for the recovery and trying, but it did not work. Now it seems that when I go in the settings of UEFI, boot order options have nothing other than IPV4 and peripheral USB for possible boot options.

On information in the BIOS, you can find any reference to the members of the SSD?

If this isn't the case, it is probably a hardware failure.

  • Using a USB flash drive for backup more driver and application backup recovery

I have a 32 GB flash drive I used to create a recovery for my Aspire S7 backup using Windows 8.1. I understand that in creating this backup everything on the flash drive is deleted before creating backup. Can I now use this drive for other purposes, e.g., pilots and backup applications, pictures, documents, etc., or this flash drive now should he remain dedicated to the sole purpose of being a backup recovery?

    Hi zimmerbob

I keep as a backup to dedicated recovery flash drive and use one for drivers & applications.

It is always wise to keep the recovery discs, as well as the recovery disks. Flash memory is quite inexpensive for the moment!

  • Inspiron One 2320 - factory restore / recovery outcome

    Hello

I bought the Inspiron One last year which has Windows 7 Professional pre-installed on it.

In my infinite wisdom, I decided to make a room upgrade to Windows 8.

My wife don't like Windows 8 and want to return to Windows 7 Pro.

The problem rears its ugly head when I go in the troubleshooting section > Advanced Options > System Image recovery

I get the report that there is system image.

Windows 8 wiped my hard drive factory backup image?

I'm counting on you my fellow COMPUTER geeks for the answer!

    Help

    Andrew

    Hi André,.

I understand that Windows 8 is a relatively new OS and might take a while to become familiar with. However, if you encounter problems using Windows 8, you can refer to the Windows 8 here for general support 'how to' articles of use page.

As you have upgraded to Windows 8, the recovery partition has been lost and you would not be able to go back to Windows 7 via the Image recovery. However, if you have created a recovery media factory at the time of the system configuration, you may be able to restore the system to factory settings using this media.

If you have not created a recovery media, the only way to get back to Windows 7 is to re - install the operating system using reinstallation disks.

Answer please if you have any other questions.

As to this subject? You calculate the RCS based on any time you want. If you change the time, you must be unambiguous. See http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0:P11_QUESTION_ID:3297071155886

You can use scn_to_timestamp and it is converse to switch back, at least the previous 5 days (in current versions). Granularity of SNA varies according to the version of 5 minutes and 3 seconds.

  • Creation of backup recovery disks

    Hello Forum,

When you use the backup recovery disc creation program, is a copy of all the recovery disc (d created or are the files from the (c drive also copied?)) With this drive, I'll then be able to restart my laptop with a new hard drive.

    Thank you very much

    FM.

    Hello

While the recovery discs are just a bootable copy of the recovery partition D, operating after replacing the HARD drive, it will reinstall all the original scores (Windows C, HP_TOOLS, recovery D etc.) on the new drive - the machine will be in the State it was at the time of purchase.

    Kind regards

  • Questions about the Acer Aspire Switch 10 guarantee

    Hello

I am very interested and very probably going to go ahead with a purchase of the Acer Aspire Switch 10 but I have a few questions. As the device is not currently available in Australia my plan is either:

    (A) choose one of these devices to the top when I visited the United States in two weeks

    Or

    (B) order now (of the United States) and delivered it here, so it comes at the time wherever I'm back from my trip.

So my main question is, as I have seen many different people having the same problem here with no apparent difficulty, if I made the purchase would I covered by warranty? I think that one would see me covered by the guarantee of international travelers, but it is not very clear. The second option would be local warranty (United States), is that correct? So if I had a problem I have to send it to the United States (at my expense)? Or should it be mentioned here in Australia? And finally, if a problem arises here, local service center (located in Sydney) acer would be able to solve the problem or find a replacement model, even if I have to pay a fee?

Thanks for the help, I am completely impressed with the device for what it is, I don't want to be stuck with a dud and know I am not covered by the warranty after I come back home (Australia) or when it arrives.

A traveler warranty Acer is designed so that if you buy a product, then travel outside your country up to 90 days, you can get service while you travel. Because you live in Australia and be buying abroad and return home, that you would classify not as a traveller in good faith. You can read all of the terms and conditions in http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/itw.htm.

The warranty for a product purchased in the United States would need to be repaired in the United States. Unfortunately, you would be responsible for the shipping of the product to the United States for repair, and we can only ship to an address in the United States, so you have to send it to someone in the States who may transmit the packet.

Regarding if the deposit of Australian repair can repair the product, it would be up to their discression regarding if an ITW applies and if they are able to get the parts of the system. It is recommended that any warranty service needed on a purchased product, to be in the country of the initial sale.

  • Where can I post a problem of Aspire One AO756 USB system recovery?

Hello.  Where can I post a problem of Aspire One AO756 USB system recovery?  I had a HARD drive crash, replaced the HARD drive and bought a USB (Win 8.1) on the Acer Store system recovery disk.  The USB settles all the installation files and then said to remove the USB key, then click OK to restart.  But the bios can not find a bootable disk to complete construction. I was sent a second USB drive with the same results.  The new HDD Seagate passes each Seatools test.  In addition, I can boot from USB to the DOS or Linux and access the disk without problem. Thank you

You must use diskpart. in the windows setup program, there is an option to format the partitions manually. allows to delete all partitions, and it will automatically set the MBR or GPT disk.

    Acer Aspire switch Alpha 12 SA5-271 - Q 55, 6

I am running the latest version of windows 10.  I noticed that when the Tablet is a stack when I opened a window, like a file Explorer, the screen will brighten up about 3 to 4 more brilliant after the opening stages of the window.  Turning off automatic mitigation does not affect this.  He disobeys on battery.  Any ideas?

    Thank you

IIRC the last version of Windows gradually reduces the brightness of the screen when it is on battery. Opening a window to bring it to normal, how it will start again dimming.

  • Aspire Switch 10 keyboard problem

Hello. I have problems with my brand new Acer Aspire Switch 10.

I just unboxed it - it sounds great - but unfortunately there is a problem with the keyboard. When I press on to ' or 'g', I get ' gs, similarly ' t ' and '4', 'y' and 'w', ' 6 "and 3" and more annoyingly "v" and "right arrow".» I'm typing this message on an external keyboard!, which works very well.

Is there something I can do to try to resolve the problem, or I am looking at a return

    Replacement keyboard works very well.
