Aspire thumb drive recovery failed

I bought my son an Aspire V5 and, after a few months, he would not start Windows.  After consultation with the help of acer and the store where I bought the laptop, I ordered the USB that was supposed to return the unit to the factory settings.  When he got here and I installed according to the instructions, the installation hung up while extracting one of the ISO files.  Let it sit for weeks while he was 'extraction', restarted, even tried to put the files on a different drive and it and no luck.  The first step (to wipe the drive, set up the score, etc.), everything seems to be okay.  Now the HARD drive has been erased, and I can't seem to get anywhere.  Any help would be most appreciated.

Then I followed the steps that JordanB listed in its link.  I created the bootable USB key, cleaned the HD and still impossible to get the recovery USB to work.  I then cleaned the HD again and tried to load Windows 8.1 directly from the bootable USB key.  He failed at random points during several tests and I also noticed a strange warning that "this drive may be on the point of failure".  I took the hard drive from the laptop and it loaded in a box gigaware, cleaned again of my office, created a single partition, and he attributed a number of drive.  I started loading files on the disk to be tested and he began to give up their studies at random.  I then went and bought a new HD, installed and used the bootable USB to load Windows 8.1 (the recovery disc loaded all files and asked for a restart, but could not find a file after restart).  The machine is back on and I loaded all updates and drivers required.

Long story short, I had a bad HDD.  Still do not know what the problem is with it, but many don't like or the other.

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.

  • Drive HARD recovery failed

    Hi all

I just tried to do a factory reset on my satellite netbook (which I've done a few times before), but it failed. I got as far as the system wipe, but got an error saying that there is no current backup.

To restart, I am unable to access the utility and get an error saying no BONES found.

I have another version of windows knock around, so used quepour starts the machine. I can see the partition containing the files of recovery is still present and the files are still there. Anyone got any ideas how I can use it to restore my computer?

I have all other backups and I don't want to order recovery disks (my machine has not in any case of a hard drive).

Any thoughts or ideas would be apprecited.

    Thank you!

Problem, is that there are not any special trick or workaround to force the installation of HARD drive recovery. Maybe it sounds stupid now, but either it works or not. Of course, there is a reason why it does not work. I don't know what have you done with your machine so can just speculate what may be the reason.

Like many other people you've made big mistake: you didn't create recovery (DVD or USB) media. The user s manuals document, clearly describes how it can be done and why. These created recovery media can be used if there is problem with the installation of recovery of HARD drive or what HARD drive fails and must be replaced by a new one.

Sorry, but I don't see a good option for you now.
By the way: why you won't restore disk original order?

  • Satellite C650, media recovery fails after replacing HARD drive

I have a 3 years C650, and the HARD drive has failed. I got a replacement drive and sorts to recover from the recovery media disks that I created and although he claimed to have re - partition the drive and reinstalled windows, windows startup fails when tried to configure the devices "could not configure windows to run on this hardware.

After this error, the boot sequence goes into an endless loop, asking to start the installation procedure.

Thinking that my records may have been corrupted, I ordered a set of Toshiba recovery disks. Once again, these go through the recovery process and still once, Windows startup does not exactly in the same place.

A little annoying to have spent £30 for nothing.

I have a picture of Windows system on my external HARD drive, but I can't get the machine to a point where it will actually start so I can recover from that.

Any suggestions on how to proceed is welcome!

    Thank you

    Hello

Of course, this isn't a problem of recovery disk.
I guess there is a problem with the HARD drive but I n t think that the HARD drive has failed I think there is a problem of setting

First, you should go to BIOS and check if the SATA set to AHCI.
Then you should also format the HARD drive again.

I recommend to use the freeware tool called GParted. You could create a live USB stick bootable flash memory which will allow you to start the unit and start GParted tool.
Format the HARD drive, and then create a partition.

After that, take the recovery disk and start the recovery procedure.
    Good luck

I had a hard disk crash.  I don't care about data loss, but I bought a new hard drive and you want to install Windows XP media center edition 2005.  I have a sticker on the side of my pc with the product code.  How can I get a recovery disk?  Download the program from another PC?

As your original failed hard drive, you would of course not be able to access any partition contained on this hard drive recovery.  Therefore, your best option is to contact the manufacturer of the computer and see if you can get the installation of their own media.

I'm recovering Pavilion dm4-3170se of my daughter. My daughter did not a recovery disk and has no recent backup of its set of data files.

Problems (and what I've done so far) are quite parallels to what the user indicated in this post incredibly detailed:

Although incredibly detailed post user is not getting into the Windows startup, I have mod... for about 30 dll before it chokes on the corrupt. I tried a number of other things to get passed without result.

    Hello:

No matter what DVD driver and HP application I have ever used is not bootable.

It should autorun from the windows desktop once windows has been reinstalled.

This is the only question that I can answer those you requested.

    Suggestion...

Make your own installation of W7 ISO from the link below.

Use to install W7 and do not delete all partitions or format the drive.

Windows install and create a folder Windows.old to the current operating system.

Then, you can copy all the files you need from the Windows.old folder after installing W7.

Once you are sure that you have got what you need, use the recovery disk set to restore the hard drive on his out of the box state.

Link to files ISO of W7 is below.  Use the W7 x 64 home premium from the SP1 media list file refresh.

Then use this tool to transfer the iso file on a flash USB DVD or 4 GB drive.  The tool also performs the file iso bootable.

  • Satellite L300 - recovery wipes C drive then fails to rebuild

My Satellite L300 has come back to Toshiba for repair under warranty and before you have the ability to burn recovery discs came with the BSOD. Removed the hard drive and placed in a SATA cradle and ran chkdsk which repaired insofar as (back in the laptop) I could at least go to the Recovery Console.

I chose back to the Toshiba factory condition (or something similar - don't remember the exact wording). Fast C screen came up and everything seemed to go well until he came up with an error. He retried two times but the error / notice of default came twice. Tried to reboot in safe mode but not bootmgr. Again removed the drive and placed it in the SATA cradle and the C partition seems to have been deleted.

No windows installation at all, is it possible to run recovery Toshiba (departure and now 0 does nothing)?

A Windows Vista recovery disc anything or allow me to access Toshiba Recovery is impossible?

    Any ideas? Help, please!

    Hi mate,

Wait a minute, please! What error message you get exactly and what you mean exactly with the SATA docking station?

Laptops vary between countries, so what L300 you have exactly? This is important because the HARD drive recovery works different on computers cell phones or let's say there are different ways it starts.

    > With no windows installation at all, is possible to run recovery Toshiba (departure and now 0 does nothing)?
Another question: how you want to start the HARD drive recovery process so now Windows is installed? ;)
Right, that s is not possible!

In your case, I would order a new recovery disk. You must contact the ASP in your country!

  • Satellite T130 - failed to restart after HARD drive recovery

    Hello

I used the Toshiba HDD Recovery tool for reinstall windows 7 on a recovery partition. Everything went well until the end when the pc restarted and would not restart. So now that I'm stuck, I can't access f8 more.

    Any suggestion?

    Hello

And what exactly is happening now? You have a black screen?

To me that sounds like it, something goes wrong in the installation of HARD drive recovery then I recommend reinstall Windows again since the middle of recovery that you created on USB or external CD/DVD drive. This can restore Windows again.

Theoretically, it could also be a hardware problem but I would try the middle of recovery recovery facility that s my personal opinion. ;)

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500-F19 and recently started having a bad performance in the GUI, and also began to close on its own.

To try to solve the problem, I used the sistem of HARD drive recovery by pressing F8 in the boothing process.
What is happening is that this process is not and and now my laptop does not even start!
    What can I do?

I have a windows repair disc, but it was made only a few days ago and this pc is in my possetion for 3 years now.
Is there a way I can recover my sistem in the original?

    Thank you
    João

Yes, you can get it back to factory settings. You can only do so in a way: you must use the recovery DVDs. Have you created this disk?

Please don t mix Windows repair disk and recovery disk. For now you can not repair anything. What you need to do is clean installation of image recovery.

  • USB Thumb Drive (UHYBS-064GH) format/write protection fault

    Hello

    Hoping for help.

Bought a 64 b USB Thumb Drive (UHYBS-064GH), a private seller, but the point is brand new in packaging.

When I tried to copy files through him, he maxed out at comments 45Gig and seems to have caused a clerical error. I was able to remove the majority of the cases, however on 5gig of them would not remove (in that they seem to have removed, until you updated).

To counter this, I tried to "quick format", the drive (using Windows XP SP3), but the disc is write protected and I am unable to remove it.

Spoke to a friend who told me that I should try a low-level format, which tried & it seemed to work, however when I insert the USB system indicates that the drive is not formatted & I would like to format. When you click Yes, I get the error 'write protected '.

Was the question of the google machine & even tried to change registry settings, but also failed.

So I hope someone out there has a solution for me (which does not include a big hammer & some anger management)...?

Would it be possible that this USB drive is defective?
In my opinion, you should contact the merchant and must replace it with another.

  • Recovery failed on the L850 Satellite

Hi, looking for help after a Toshiba Recovery failed on a L850-ID5.

Due to a problem with the windows Explorer that comes, I could not solve, I decided to do the full restoration of Toshiba. Finished, he gave an error code 10-FC12-0570.

Now computer tries to start windows, goes to a blue screen with a few other technical details (too fast to see what is there) and then to the windows recovery page. I tried all the options like mode safe without success. If the left, it will continually cycle and re - start.

Only other option seems to be to use an installation disc, but there is no disc with this laptop.

Any ideas how to get out of this mess?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Unfortunately I can't say with certainty what the problem but that is defective recovery image or there is a problem with the HARD drive. For a long time, the laptop manufacturers do not offer installation disks but in s manuals explains and describes how these discs can be created and your big mistake is that you didn t do backup recovery image and create the installation of recovery disc.

I don't know how old is your machine, but if the warranty is still valid I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. Explain the problem and ask for help.
If they ask for recovery disk, you try to explain that you didn t expect failure of HARD drive and you still don't have it.

In General, you have two options:
-for order of Toshiba recovery media (it is not for free)
-to get the new HARD drive and test it with the original recovery disk
In any case, don't spend your money before you try to clarify this with Toshiba service.

  • Re: No HARD drive recovery on Satellite S995D-S5374 area

I can't do a recovery disc, it says that there is no HDD Recovery area.

The situation was like that, I wanted to decrease the size of the C drive. I did it with a program and then windows could not start and went to do so more and more.

I used a different windows installation disc 8. I used the reset option. And the computer started as if it was just a box, the only difference was that my files were intact and also my account on win8. Although scores are one in trouble.

    Now, it looks like this:

I can not access the half of my hard disk space. There is recovery partition as you can see, but I can not burn a recovery disk...

I tried to do what he says here (opening the HARD drive recovery process), but it failed. I get the screen where it says
my pc need to be repaired and nothing was found or can not be found to achieve this.

Yes, guyes, * please help *. I want my rear disc space and if it is possible to make a recovery disk. As I can access the recovery partition in my computer, can't do a drive recovery here?

p.s. in disk management, when I right click on the partition "Data", it is said that 'Help' and nothing more.

p.p.s. I Satellite S995D-S5374. And there was no disk recovery with it when I bought it.

In recent years, Toshiba doesn't offer recovery discs with new models of laptops with recovery media must be created by the owner of the laptop. It is clearly described in the document s user manuals.

Recovery media can be created if the laptop has only factory settings. As I see that you have changed the structure of the partitions and that was the big mistake. Of course you can do, but at the first recovery media must be created.

Please read the last post on http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=140985

Sorry, but now you cannot create recovery media or start HARD recovery disk image installation.
If you want to have the recovery disk and use it to recovery image installation, you need to order a new drive for https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

    Hello

I have the Satellite L655-1HE. I created a "HARD drive recovery" through "create recovery media. On the contrary, CD/DVD, I put it in a USB Flash drive. But when I used it, a mistake was "copy of splitpart or the Canadian Red Cross has failed!" After that, I can't boot my laptop more. There is a message "BOOTMNGR missing." I think I already deleted the operating system in the player. Please help me. How can I fix?

    Hello

If you can, please try to boot again from the USB and run the recovery.

Whatever the problem, if the recovery is unsuccessful, I recommend the following steps:

-buy a set of recovery-store to the wire to https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu
-If you did, and even this game fails to install, take care to check your HARD disk for problems.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Before performing a recovery facility, you should try to update the driver for the webcam and the BIOS. The two you can find on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

If it doesn t work you must run an installation recovery and in the worst case, the hardware may be faulty and you will need assistance from an authorized service provider.
If your laptop is still under warranty, the repair should be free.
