Can someone tell me where to find the setting to make the Hardware Wizard search the web (or Windows Update) Please? I always used to get this facility. But now, with my PC under XP Pro, the research is CD or my HD player (I don't have a floppy drive).

Go to control panel, system, click the Hardware tab, click Windows Update, click, ask me every time that I connect a new device to search Windows Update.

Also, when you update a driver, click Device Manager, double-click the device you want to update, select Driver tab, click on update driver and you now have 3 choices to try to update.

    I have a DB more then 1.8mil records in a single table... and I would implement full-text search, or some sort of caching for faster Web search...

    Let me describe what I have... The table that holds 1.8mil records is made out of 30... clob columns each text held... in fact they are alphabetical columns... so tank of words beginning with "A" are in the first clob... 'B' in the second 'C' in the third and so on...

    Search always first by customerID, and CreateDate, which are the two columns indexed, and then CLOB is sought using instr...

    Plan of execution was good... but the time research has begun to increase...

    So I want to this effect to improve research... by putting in place some sort of caching mechanism...

    I read a lot about this and found an example where I would create a table containing unique words and a table for instances of words... but it would be so
    do like 1.8mil portal approach 500 words, which would then repeat in articles... so ok, there would be less then 50,000 unique words (in our language), but occurrences would increase substantially the cause every word inside the article should have a link to the table occurrences... so that would be like the folders inside the table 900mil...

    Is it possible to have a record both within the single table? And yet do it fast?

    Is the only way Oracle full-text search in this situation?

    Any suggestions? Someone implement something like this?

    Let's start with your version of Oracle. Please specify which version run you because the text capabilities vary considerably between the two versions.

    Did anyone else encounter this problem or have a guess at what may be the cause of this? I have spent a few hours trying to fix it and am willing to give up Firefox, so far that is (was) my go to the browser.

    Unfortunately, I installed iLivid and have had the problem that many others have lived with the irritating searchqu. I followed the many useful threads on using Firefox and through disabling modules, using Add/Remove programs etc, I have manged to pretty much get rid of. One annoying aspect remains. On my Firefox page, next to the usual web address field is another field of research that is pre-filled with "iLivid Web search."

    Does anyone know what specific part of the uninstall will get rid of this?

    It worked for me. There is a magnifying glass with a drop-down arrow on the left side of the box using the ilivid search. Hit him and you will see a list of search engines.
