the only option listed for bootable devices listed is HARD disk; SM-ASUS-PHISON SSD. IAPPUYEZ ENTER, AND NOTHING IS GETTING PAST. PLEASE HELP THANK YOUI

Hi theodoresochor,

Looks like the boot of the computer device is not set correctly, or basic input/output system (BIOS) does not save the changes made to the boot device.

I suggest that you contact the Asus support for changes in the basic input/output system (BIOS).

  • Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

I have an Asus UX31 of Zenbook ultrabook. It is running Windows 8, I installed it via download, is not a physical disk.

Recently, I ran Windows Update and he knew as usual, until the time of reset. It restarts, showed on the screen "install updates", but then finally started only the following error message:

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.

As mentioned, I don't have a disc, my ultrabook is not a hard drive. Internal storage only that there is a 128 GB SSD. I went into the bios and check the boot settings and the SSD is correctly listed as the only option to start.

I can only assume some question that's happened with the update of windows. I'm not sure of how to proceed now? ATM, I only have a weight £1000 :/

    Hello r,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

By the description of the problem, I understand that you have problems starting from the computer to the desktop screen, it gives the above error message.

I imagine how it could be frustrating when things do not work as expected. I appreciate your efforts to solve this problem.

As this problem occurred after installing Windows Update, this could be the reason for the incompatible driver installed with the Windows updates.

As you have already checked the settings for starting a disc SSD set correctly, I suggest you disconnect all the external device and restart the computer, check if are able to boot to the desktop screen.

We will try the following methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: I suggest you create USB recovery media as your laptop doesn't have the DVD Rom.

If you're having problems with your PC, a recovery USB disk can help you troubleshoot and fix these problems, even if your PC does not start.

Create an installation media for Windows 8.1
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

Method 2: Once you create USB recovery media, auto repair:

Follow the steps below to perform an automatic repair:

1 restart the computer, wait for the logo of the manufacturer to check the option of start menu, it will usually F12.
    2. the start menu key can be different with each manufacturer. If you are unable to find the start menu button, you can consult the user manual.
    3. restart the computer, when appears the logo of the manufacturer, continue to press the Boot option menu key to enter the boot menu and change the option to boot in DVD ROM.
    4. Once you start your computer by using Windows 8 DVD or system repair disc, a black screen appears with the gray text "press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press a button on any.
    5. Select the exact time and the type of keyboard.
    6. click on repair your computer in the lower left corner.
    7. click on troubleshooting, advanced option and then click on auto repair.

Hope this helps, please reply with the status of the question to get help.

    Hello

    Sorry to hear that.

If you see boot and boot to the EFI file manager but nothing else, the USB is not detected.

    Please, perform the above steps

s ' ensure that the 8.1 Win USB is intact and working

-Secure Boot to disable and enable the Legacy mode

-save changes and continue with the F9 mode.

  • computer not boot vista windows after moving it __error message: reboot and select the right Boot device.___or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and pressed key__

My computer worked fine Windows Vista Home Premium. I stop him, he moved to another room, reconected everything and now it won't start. I just got this message:

First: Hardware Monitor with a lot of temperature and tensions etc.

Then: Reboot and select proper boot device.

or insert media in selected Boot device key start and pressed

You will probably have to open the computer case and check the cable from hard drive, graphics card, RAM, etc., to make sure everything is neat and tight fitting.

Remove cards, and then reinstall them using to ensure that they are properly installed.

Drive appears you in the BIOS? If not, and if reinstalling it does not help that I assume safely that the hard disk is dead.

You can also try to download/creation of the various Linux Live boot floppies [Unbuntu, PartedMagic, etc.] to confirm that your other components are not at fault. If you can start and run a live linux OS then your other components of the system may very well.

You can also remove the drive of your machine and install it as a secondary drive in another computer or a disk to see if you can access it.

You can also run a HDD diagnosis by accessing your site of hard drive manufacturers and download/creating a diagnostic boot disk.

  • Pavilion g7 1083rn: help! Laptop will not start. Not found boot device!

My laptop has been working well but super slow lately. Just today, I turned on and automatically noticed it was different and weird like that clicking sound I've ever heard before. When I tried to turn it on, it says device not found Boot. Then I restarted and it put on normal but then said it was a mistake and I went back to the black boot device not found screen. What can I do? I don't have a cd to fix it.

Thank you, yes it's my hard drive :/

  • Reboot and select good Boot Device problem - my PC does not start!

    Hi all

Whenever I turn on my computer I get the message "Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key.

I checked the diagonistics material and these are the results:

    Test CPU-

Hard drive: failure of the connection Test - Error Code: BIOHD1

    Memory - past

I don't think that the issue is a faulty connection. My reason to believe so because I think that I had a virus on my computer (I was not able to confirm) I tried to delete the last time I was able to use the computer. Then I turned off the computer to restart, but unfortunately, that's when I got this error message.

I had this problem once before (about 3 years ago) and I was not able to solve this problem, so I just stopped using the PC. Then one day my Dad turned on the computer (a few months later) and it worked all of a sudden.

Anyone know what this problem is? How can I solve this problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you very much for your time and effort!

    Additional information:

It was originally a windows 7 PC, but I have upgraded to windows 10, which is the current operating system.

    Product: HP p6620f

I managed to start my PC again.

I have unplugged all connections and left it that way for about 24 hours. Then I plugged everything back in and all of a sudden the PC worked again. I don't know if it will last, but right now it works.

I'll write another post if something changes.
