ASUS Eee Slate as a POS Station?

How well this device would work as one point of sale in a restaurant or a small retail environment?  Can servers carry this autour and enter orders food & drink?  Saw also a blog comment on the need for a docking station, but in the meantime, this device would work fine while plugged in, correct?

    Hello

I had the Eee slate since nearly four years. I have problems in the past, but recently happened to the point where it is almost unusable.

What brought me to this point is the fact that my keyboard no longer works.  When we look under hardware and peripheral, I find that my keyboard is not connected.  I was able to reconnect once in a very roundabout way, I don't remember how. I think I have re-installed driver, removed the devices keyboard and then sync using bluetooth. However, it was short-lived and did not work the next time I tried to use it.

I also noticed that my physical volume buttons don't work as well.

In addition, the touchscreen continues saving touch in the lower left corner, so I have to constantly touch the screen to get back my cursor. It takes me some time to simply type this note. It was that the problem was my screen was save touch in the upper right corner, but he seems to have changed.

Not as many question but still very annoying is the dysfunctional Jack for headphones and the cooling fan.  These two things are become problems as soon as my warranty was up. The right earpiece continually puts the treble sounds and sizzling. The fan continues to run at the top all the time. Once again, these two issues not important as much, so I can manage without them.

In the end, I just want to know if there is a simple and affordable way to solve these problems. I feel like I've exhausted all the possibilities (cleaning of the screen calibration, update, etc.) just short of paying a large sum of money for a professional look. I understand that it is considered 'old' with regard to computers, but I don't want to buy a new computer, if I have to.

    HI Maria,

We understand that you are facing some problems with the Tablet from Asus, but don't worry, we will try to help you.

This problem may be due to the fact that the material is quite old and it suddenly behaves.

I suggest you go ahead and perform a refresh or reset according to the requirements. As if the issues is due to the Windows, this will remove the seeds for sure. But even after a refresh if the problem persists I suggest you to contact Asus and like they would be better positioned to solve the problem.

How to refresh, reset or restore your PC

Warning: I strongly recommend that you back up all your important files and folders on an external storage device before performing any type of OS refresh or reset.

I hope this helps. Please get to us if you need assistance, we will be happy to help you.

  • Asus eee Pad Transformer Tablet

I've seen this mentioned in the thread of SD card, but refuses to a post here. I hope that the thread will die a painful death it deserves.

In any case, I got the link for the Asus tablet which sports Android 3 and it is supposed to support the SD card, Ta Dah! Anyway if you are interested, here's the "official" release all the * itchers may return their xooms and never darken our door again.

    http://promos.ASUS.com/us/PR_2011/transformer/index.html

Looks like it's pretty much like the Xoom except a little heavier to 1.5 pounds (if I remember correctly the xoom is 1.3). Apparently, it will be available in 3g and WiFi, but other that the weight appears on the same specification wise. I'm sorry except for support of the SD card.

This announcement bottom line was my humble opinion is that support SD card should be almost like Asus is advertising it and the http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2011/03/asus-eee-pad-transformer-tablet-has-16-hour-battery/news article # says that it is now available in Taiwan. So I hope that we will be getting a notice of motorcycle to return our tablets (after they leverage from my cold dead hands) for upgrade.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfigand click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    Hello world

I know some basics, but can't seem to understand this one!

ASUS Eee PC 1011PX, Intel Atom N570, Windows Starter, Service Pack 1, 32-bit, @1. 66 GHz 1.67 GHz, 1 GB ram... (netbook)

Does not at all, update... .last updated 2011!

Sitting in an office that is not used for 3 years.

Says "updates more recent audit for 2014' and the last installed 2011." .... 134 important updates available (409,7 MB).

Said to Windows is activated, and the general system is ok...

    * (slow system, but it was always like that because only 1 GB of ram, or so that's my guess)

    As a first step:

I have re-uploaded (free editions of their sites) Ccleaner, Malwarebytes, and Superantispyware... then double checked versions for my 2 other laptops (HP win8 and an even older Acer with Vista) where I have these 3 tools also.

Updated program of Avast and definitions.

    * has no re - download Avast *.

    CCleaner.

-scan analysed then main to remove.

-analysis of the registry. says it fixes stuff, but I note he's sorry.

    Malw.

    -hyper scan

-analysis of the threat. found a few away from browser... wjam/yahoo stuff and a few others.

    Superantisp.

    -analysis of critical points. Ok

-quick scan. typical minor stuff, nothing to note.

    -full scan. even

    Avast.

    -smart scan

    -quick scan. Ok

    -full scan. Ok

    -Start scan. Ok

-After above scans, always had prob, so I changed to high sensitivities/heuristics, and made sure that all of the scans scanned all drives including system and rootkits player... then back above scans.

I tried Microsoft Fixit suggested troubleshooting tool... said it fixed 1 corrupted registry.

++ FINALLY ++ Rebooted in safe MODE and above repeated scans. (with the exception of Avast, it is not designed for safe mode more)

ALL OF THESE PROCEDURES WAS NOT ABLE TO REPAIR WINDOWS UPDATE :(

    * Maybe I have to investigate my diary of the events/spectator, looking for the exact time that it update?

    * Maybe tweaking avancΘs (which I do not fully understand)... and create analyses in all of the above tools?

    * I don't have any method of restoration again, but do not know if it is available as too far behind. AND I have no boot disks/Win to start to update my system.

    Help, please!

    See you soon,.

    Have you tried:

  • Bluetooth mouse not working not. Mouse Notebook 5000 installed on my Asus Eee bluetooth compatible with Windows 7 starter netbook

My new mouse bluetooth 5000 worked briefly with my new Asus netbook and watch again as installed in devices, but my computer is not responding to it.  I tried new batteries. Active Latst driver.  Computer recognizes the blue tooth mouse, but does not meet all the buttons or roulette.  (indicator flashes on mouse altrnating red and green, which I think means that it is recognized by the computer).  Any suggestions?  How will I know if the mouse is defective?

    Hello

    1. are you able to use the other bluetooth devices succssfully?

    Method 1.
Let us try to use this mouse on another computer and check if it is defective.

    Method 2.
It is possible that a third party application or driver is at the origin of the conflict with this device. We can use the approach 50 / 50 to narrow down the root cause of the problem.
See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.
