  Can you please give us a little more detail on what is the specific error you get when you try to use the webcam?

  Check if you have the drivers installed for your webcam.

  As you say that it is a Dell computer, you will need to go on the http://support.dell.com website to download the driver of your webcam installed.

  Click on support and drivers.

  On the next page, it asks your name and your number.

  Select the exact model of your laptop.

  This will bring up the option to select your operating system. Choose Windows Vista or Windows Vista 64-bit.

  A webcam installed usually appears under the software - multimedia, but it may be different for your model.

  You can choose to install now or download. Once it is downloaded and installed, then test again to see if your integrated webcam works.

  as the title suggests, the webcam built-in in my Toshiba Satellite P300D-110 does not work correctly. Allow me to explain. Using the camera Assistance software I can take pictures and record music. If I try to record a video preview screen comes black and the end result on black, pitch black aswell tuns.

  Whenever I try to use my camera with applications such as MSN Live Messenger, Skype or on community websites, using Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari the app crashes.

  Camera Assistance software using provided by Toshiba I can't save or preview of a video.
  Can you please describe the steps how you try to do this? I have to ask you this question because it works fine on my laptop. When the recording is finished Player opens and you can see saved the film. This is the avi format and at the top of this player, you can see the path where the film is recorded.

  Strangest thing for me, is that you can not use it with Skype. OK for MSN is not perfect, but there is absolutely no problem with Skype. Make sure the settings and it should work somehow.

  I have a L500D (I got it for about 2 months now) and yesterday I realized that my webcam did not work properly even if it worked just fine a couple of days.

  Here's the problem: when I turn it on (via Skype or through application of camera web toshiba), the colors are reversed: it's exactly like I had added an effect on the image as 'Posterize' or 'threshold '. Everything is bright, grainy, saturated...

  I tried in low light and high, and the night mode is not on.
  I couldn't solve the problem with the webcam settings, but regardless, I, can not do anywhere near a normal image.

  I spent a lot of time surfing the web but couldn't find a solution (or someone with a similar problem, in fact). I have windows 7 64 bit.

  Have you tried to reinstall the webcam software?
  Try this.
  First remove the software of webcam and then after new reboot, install the new downloaded webcam software.

  I have a Dell XPS 15, and the built-in webcam worked perfectly, until the Microsoft Security Essentials - KB2310138 (1.131.1448.0) update that happened. Now I can't access the webcam (not found in the Dell Webcam Central) and can't even see the built-in Webcam listed in "imaging devices" in Device Manager.   Windows 7 is guess to provide the drivers of webcam for most Dell computers, except some XPS models. Go to the drivers & downloads type your service tag, then your service number. Under entry, webcam drivers should be there.

  The integrated webcam does not work with Live Messenger; and when you select the tool, Audi + Vieo Setup in Messenger I get thye following message: "we are unable to launch the Audi video installation.
  The webcam works fine with the Camera Assistant Software.

  I tried: 1) killing the AC software and from Messenger. (2) dowanloading one driver webcam Toshiba Web site; (3) update of Windows Vista
  None of the above works.

• My webcam does not work. How can I make it work again?

  -Very well, so I have a Gateway computer, T-Series, not exactly that model because when I sent the computer geek team, they covered the sticker on the bottom that tells you what it is, but that should not be too significant. Thus, the original hard copy of this computer died earlier. I took the hard drive on an HP failure and after I installed all the drivers on the right, the computer works perfectly, the hitch is that the hard drive it's a HP photo and not a bridge. The point being, my gateway integrated webcam does not work without the driver (of course) and because the hard does not know that the computer has one, I don't know which driver should I download. If anyone has any information on the gateway series T, as those who had webcams and how webcam can be in the computer, so that I can find the driver for that it would be useful.

  EDIT: The laptop is a gateway series W350a T with a 1.3 Megapixel WebCam. If you guys can offer any help, please do.

I downloaded the Chicony WebCam Assistant and viola, problem solved.

  Thanks but no thanks for these suggestions, so they're as bad as, if not worse than what I would have gotten if I had called the bridge to help Customer Support. The only difference is that I wouldn't have to wait a day for this stupid proposal, I would be immediately obtained.

  If you are good with a screwdriver you can probably fix it really fast. First turn off the laptop, then remove the Panel before (trim sreen) to expose the webcam and unplug carefully, not to break the wiring of the plug. Finally, turn the computer on the bezel even reverse, but expect that the computer fully boots up... now plug it back (with the computer), now to see if your webcam is now detected and installed as a "Device-Image" in Device Manager. If so, you good to go!

  the built-in on my Satellite T130 webcam does not work.

  I use Windows 7 Home Premium and already reinstalled the drivers of webcam 64-bit through this Web site.   Try the webcam driver released for the satellite t230 or other series of satellites.
