Hello DioneStephens,

What web browser are you using to try to download the trial of Word?
You receive error messages when the download stops?
I would say running the Microsoft FixIt tool is located in this article:
Try also try to clean boot your system by following the instructions in the article, to see if any software installed and running prevents the download ended.

Hi, grateful if someone can advise...

We have a HP G37035EA laptop with windows vista V6 s-pack 2 that we have had since nine for about 2-3 years.

All of a sudden he is will not let us go online.  My mother I believe is an update of somesort - she doesn't remember, but it would have been one automated that pop up and since then it has not worked.  When you try to go online, he said; Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage.  It's IE V8.

The internet connection works without a doubt, we can make the HP updates, updates microsoft etc. and I plugged another laptop to our router which works perfectly, either with a cable or wireless, but this laptop is not less we surf the net so be it.   We talked at length with Sky that host our broadband services and they have not been able to make it work.

    All advice appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Jo,.

Given the description of the malicious software on your laptop, I highly recommend a restore factory, preferably using your recovery disks.  Two Trojan horses is known for download and install other malware and future versions of Trojan.Vundo may also install rootkits that will prove extremely difficult to remove - I believe strongly that there is still malicious software on your laptop, and I believe it is directly related to your problem to access Web sites, even if your internet connection seems fine.

Using your recovery disks to reinstall the operating system will all be first to format the hard drive - all - clear before reinstalling the operating system.

You will probably need to back up personal files before doing so, but make sure that they are carefully analyzed on a "PC Clean" before I be reloaded on your laptop - make sure that your laptop has all its security software installed before reloading the saved files.

Let me know if you have any questions in this regard.

    Best wishes

I just bought a new laptop HP Pavilion Touch Smart 11-e11Onr with little window 8.1 64.   I was in the store window Thursday and download a game, but on Friday, when I try to load another application, it will not download.  I get an error message "cannot complete your purchase due to the slow internet connect, please try again on another connection.   Problem is that my Comcast Modem works fine and my Internet speed is fast.   I went back to Office Max on this problem and they did a speed test on my end, which proved very much, but when they did speed test on the side of Microsoft, that's where the problem is... their connection to the server is too slow.   The shop window is not available since Friday.  When they get this fix so that I can down load more of the store.   My app store Google on my phone works much better than this!

Can someone please check on both Microsoft and find out what's going on?

Don't be so quick to deny that the problem I got exactly the same problem as with Time Warner, and I had their techs here at least 15 times. Nothing was found or not corrected until they sent a monitoring on the ground and when he saw that I was running, he told me that they bear not Internet Explorer 9 still and their link didn't work correctly with Windows 8. Hope this helps and if you need another post to help and we will be happy to help you.

  • I used superstart, then it dissappeared, I downloaded several times, it says I have it, but there is no evidence of it - what is happening?

Has it changed while I can't even recognize him? Before, there were empty blocks in the middle of my screen; I click on one and assign it to a web site, so I can access it easily. That is what superstart is supposed to be, correct? Now, there is nothing even if I downloaded it, rebooted and it's just not there and its driving me nuts.

  • computers shows no internet connection but can access the internet

Lately, my internet has been slow. Also, I had problems to connect to some sites to download some updates and product registration. I'd get a message that there is no internet connection detected. That's when I noticed that the network icon would increase from 2 computers with a blue dot on them to just 2 computers. I checked my "network and sharing Center" and it showed that I am not connected to the internet (red x on the line between the network and internet connection)... I can still access the internet and navigate well. When I tried to diagnose and repair, I get this message.

"You need to register with the provider of internet services of this network to have access to the internet" and below "connections to Web pages are currently redirected to a different Web page"

"Click to open the Web page, if it is an Internet service provider registration page you can read the registration information."

He seemed to have solved the problem. I went into the Device Manager and disabled my network card and enabled then again. I'm also done to restore my system to the rear before the problem started then uninstalled and reinstalled NIS2011. I have not reinstalled IE9 yet. Thanks for the help

  • I have an internet connection, but when I try to enable Thunderbird software appears on my desktop screen, but could not complete the connection process.

I have Thunderbird installed on my desktop and laptop. So far, it worked very well on both machines. Today, when I try to activate the Thunderbird, the software on my desktop and laptops come on the screen, like the "sign-in" box When I try to connect, however, the process hangs part way through and the circle around the rotation shows that the activity occurs. Finally Windows 7 on the laptop tells me that the program is not responding.

The same result occurs on two machines, the desktop and the laptop. I checked and I have an active internet connection on both machines.

    What should I do?

There is no right or wrong with using POP or IMAP. It really depends on what you're trying to reach. There is a lot of information on the web about POP or IMAP, here is an example.

  • No internet connection but the status is "connected" - Qosmio G30-163

Why can't internet connection through some wireless networks, and never through the connection to the local network, even if the State of the connection is "connected"?

    I have a Toshiba Qosmio G30-163

In the Manager of peripheral devices, network cards, there are two yellow mark points (next to "Other devices" and "Multimedia video controller")

I made sure "Obtain IP address automatically" is a selection and "Obtain DNS address automatically" is selected as well.

the IP address of my computer is 169.254.xxx, x, and I read somewhere that this indicates that there is no connection to a DHCP server and probably no connection at all. I was not able to renew the IP address.

To repair internet connection doesn't work. I get the response "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because it is impossible to perform the following action: renewing your IP address." "For assistance, contact the personal who manages your network.

Try turning off the Windows Firewall. Or if you have installed a lot of 'Internet Security', reconfigure or disable the firewall.

Update the BIOS and make sure have the latest network drivers and wireless installed.

Try another browser such as Firefox or Google Chrome and verify that the Proxy settings are correct (if you are behind a proxy).

Go to a command prompt and type: IPCONFIG/all
If you see a gateway, you must be connected to the Internet.

  • HP Envy 4500: Printer says it has solid network connection, but cannot connect to the internet

So I have not been able to use my printer wireless lately, so I decided to check if it was connected to my wireless network. It is; I checked, re-connected and checked several times. So I decided to reactivate my web services. I have them turned off, and now whenever I press the button on the printer ePrint, it says connection for a really long time and then displays the message in the sense of "the printer cannot connect to the server. Check the internet connection and proxy settings.

I have re-connected the printer to my wireless network, I checked that if I use a proxy server (I'm not), I used the HP print and Scan Doctor - just, it won't just matter what I do.

All I can think about is the fact that I have recently purchsed a new router, but says that its connected which is what really stem me.

This printer makes me crazy - please help

    Hi @mastersword64,

    Welcome to the HP community!

I hope you have a pleasant experience with us.

I want to help you with the connection error, you get on your e-all-in-one of HP ENVY 4500 printer when you try to enable web services.

Here are some steps, I suggest trying to get your web services up and running it again:

    Network Power Reset:

We'll leave the router and unplug the power cable (NOTE: do not reset the router.), and then do the same with the printer and shut down the computer. After a minute, plug in the router, wait to fully turn on, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light become solid. Once the router and the printer are on, go ahead and re - turn on the computer. This will refresh the network connection.

Restore the default settings of the network and reconnect:

    1. on the front panel of the printer, press your up wireless icon

    2. Select settings.

    3. Select restore default network settings.

    4 turn on your printer.

    5. once it is initialized to save, press the wireless icon again.

    6. Select settings.

    7. Select Wireless Assistant , and then follow the prompts to enter the details of your wireless network.

    8. try to activate the web services again.

Configure a manual DNS for your printer:

1 obtain the IP address of your printer

    a. This can be done by pressing the icon on the printer wireless.

    2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser on your computer.

    3. Select the tab network at the top of the page.

    4. on the left, select network.

    5. Select network address (IP)

    6. Select manual DNS server

    a. manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8

    b. alternate DNS server should read. 8.8.4.4

    7. Select apply. You can get a warning simply select OK.

Please reply to let me know if these steps resolve your issue.

    Good luck!
