Atheors 5005 Wlan card cannot connect to WPA encrypted AP

I'm posting this new thread too thought...

I'm unable to connect to a wpa encrypted using my satellite pro L20 girlfriends access point / Winxp
Windows XP will allow me only to choose either 'disabled' or 'WEP' in the tab 'association' of the section advanced properties of wireless connection.
I downloaded drivers atheros 5005 g (v 4.0.0.14001) and while I can find the access point and the value upward WPA encryption and enter the correct password.
the device connects to my access point.
I managed to stay connected with my macbook pro and my toshiba tecra m9 14 c in a few seconds...
Anyone has any idea what I can do to get this working?

Hello

AFAIK the Atheros chip also supports the latest WLAN security standards, including the Wi - Fi Protected Access WPA and WPA2.

In your case I would update the Wlan driver from this page of Toshiba:
http://APS.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/?page=downloads

This time it s a version 7.6.0

  • Intel WLAN card cannot connect to Wanadoo livebox

I have a built-in Intel Pro/Wireless BG network connection card, but I can not connect properly and reliably to the Wanadoo livebox. Wanadoo assistance team advised me to make a few changes on my wireless card, but I couldn't because he's informed changes were not available: when I right click on my map and then click on properties, I can't find the network connection tab that would allow me to set it up, according to support Wanadoo, while my phone was able to connect to the Livebox.

Has anyone ever encountered this problem? Anyone know how to fix this? Do I have to update my map?

    Thank you.

First go to Device Manager and check if the wireless card was recognized correctly.
Then, go to the Green START button and select settings - network connections
Then select Wireless right click - Properties.

In the Middle you will find wireless networks tab.

    Hello

I have problems connecting to the secure WPA using a Satellite Pro 6100 companies network. I know from Google search the default drivers for the wireless card on the 6100 must be upgraded to WPA compatible. It's a Toshiba Wireless LAN mini PCI Card, and I've already upgraded to the version of the driver 7.82.0.550.
Even with what I believe to be the correct configuration, this still does not connect to the wireless network. I did in the past, so I know it works, but I do not remember how I fixed it. Anyone know if I missed something?

  • WAP54G connects with WPA encryption

    Hello

I have a WAP54G access point and a laptop ACER 7720 inspired. No encryption and WEP settings don't work very well, but does not have WPA Personal.

I use Ubuntu 8.04 and Vista operating systems, which give the same results.

Are there problems known with this type of encryption, or any less than obvious settings that I may have missed.

My WAP54G is version 3.1 and version 3.05 firmware

The laptop uses a wireless 3945abg card.

A Linux expert has suggested that I have try the driver of wicd, but even if successful it would not solve the problem with Vista.

    TIA

  • Cannot connect to a WPA - PSK with WLAN DW1520 Wireless-N particular, but can when no security is set to wireless. How can I get the card to use WPA - PSK?

I have a DW1520 Wireless-N WLAN Half-Mini card in an Alienware M17X10. I am trying to connect my home through a TRENDNet TEW-435BRM access DSL issue in WPA - PSK.

I was able to get the card to use the accounts wireless WPA2-PSK and WPA - PSK in other areas is not a problem directly related to WPA - PSK.

I can get it to connect to the network when the diffuse TRENDnet without security (free release) and when directly plugged into the wireless router, cable - but every time I go to dissemination of WPA - PSK it can't connect?

While in WPA - PSK the WLAN card can 'see' the network and wireless router can see the 'computer' (and is a 'trust machine'). I have one couple of other previous model Dells connected to the network without problem or needed changes if any ideas why I would have questions here?

The driver installed is the 'last' to 5.60.48.35.

I tried to restart the router and the computer without success. I use Windows Firewall.

No bright sparks that can point me in the right direction?

    Thank you

Then he says that there are no networks in range at all, cannot detect everything.

    > Another notification appears when I troubleshoot that says "My technology Intel wifi adapter not found" idk what it is all...
Because of this message, I would recommend checking the status of the WiFi (WLan card) adapter in Device Manager.
You could uninstall the WLan driver in Device Manager.
Then you need to download the latest driver from this page:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

and should install the new drivers.
Reconfigure the Wlan connection and test functionality.

PS: Please make sure that the WiFi was enabled (FN + F8) before trying to set up the connection.

I have a L20-199 with LAN wireless satellite. But the system cannot identify the (hardware) wireless network card. Trying to install Intell WLAN driver on the site of Toshiba relevent also impossible to locate a WLAN card. How to install or identify a wireless card in this computer? Thank you
    Ajith

    Hello

No, certainly not the laptop does not support the update of the Wlan card and it has also not been handed over with the wireless network card
I'm sure that you will not find the wifi card in device under network adapters Manager

So if you want to connect the laptop to the router wireless LAN or WLan you must use an external solution; for example: Wlan USB stick!
