Atheros AR9285 in CQ61-410US wireless network card does not connect to the Internet after the update of the adapter driver

I have a Compaq Presario CQ61-410US (WA974UA) which is equipped with an Atheros AR9285 B/G/N wireless network adapter.   The laptop Internet access was fast and stable when using a Wi - Fi N.   Its pilot AR9285 was the initial version of the 8.0.0.172 factory.  But because there were so many subsequent driver updates, I've updated the display driver version from the support page 8.9.9.316 (sp48755.exe).  However, after updating the driver, I immediately lost Internet access.   The laptop is running Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1 and 64-bit.

The driver seems to be installed OK, but it does not connect to the Internet.  Here is the status of the driver: 1) in Device Manager it appears OK and is presented as working properly.  (2) in the results of IPCONFIG/all, it there is no entry for the wireless adapter and without IP addresses are affected.  Here are the results of the IPCONFIG/all command:

(3) Trying to Connect through connections network does not a list of known available networks and instead says "not connected - no connection is available."

I have read several messages from the HP Forum and tried a lot of things, including the installation of various updates driver later thanks to the version 10.0.0.222, but I still can't the driver to connect to the Internet.  I also changed my router "n" has only B/G as the AR9285 pilot has a history of problems with Wireless N.  Even back to the original driver version 8.0.0.172 provides an Internet connection.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello:

I'm glad that you were able to restore your internet connection.

I'd go with the latest driver HP vice one from another source.

The only time wherever I go outside HP for wireless network drivers is if you have an Intel wireless card.

My recommendation is to use the free MS Security Essentials antivirus/antispyware, which never interfere with how "things important works" on your PC, such as network connections.

http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=5201

Your router with a hardware firewall and a software firewall Windows. I don't see the importance of adding other firewalls.

Unless you have a lot of albums secret info on your PC that pirates would like to get my hands on, these fully functional security roadblocks are adequate for most of us.

  • The network card does not connect to the remote server

    My desktop computer has been recently updated to Windows 7 64 bit so I had to reinstall everything. Part of my job includes pulling data from two separate databases on a remote Oracle server. Previously with Windows 32 - bit Oracle SQL Developer worked after that I installed the Oracle Client and configured using Net Manager AMT settings. However now in SQL Developer, I get the following error message when you try to connect to databases using the same exact AMT settings.

    Error: "status: failed Test failed: the network adapter could not establish the connection.

    Versions:
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Oracle SQL Developer 3.2.2 (64-bit)
    Update to Java SE DK 6 43 (64-bit)
    Customer of Oracle 11 g R2 (64-bit)

    I've set up two databases under Naming Service in Oracle Net Manager. I used screenshots of my previous Net Manager settings to create the connections if everything is correct. Also, the two couplings to test successfully in the Net Manager. Contains the tnsnames.ora file

    PROD =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = thor)(PORT = 1526))
    )
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = PROD)
    )
    )

    DWHOUSE =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = thor)(PORT = 1526))
    )
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = DWHOUSE)
    )
    )

    In SQL Developer, I adapted the new connection settings exactly as before with a different screenshot of my connections to the previous developer. For example, I selected 'TNS' of the connection Type and selected "DWHOUSE" for network Alias. I even tried to put the chain of connection such as the login, but everything I've tried has made the mistake of connection.

    I followed some of the suggestions in other threads, but everything seemed to work, as I was able to connect to two databases using SQL more. Also, 'tnsping prod' both 'tnsping dwhouse' resulted in an OK. Same ODBC using the Oracle driver works to connect to these databases.

    I thought installing the JDK, Oracle Client, and SQL Developer as well as my screenshots would be an easy process and without hassle to connect to these databases. I'm doing something wrong? What else can I try?

    Of course, the point marking in your recent post concerns the former developer SQL install connection very well during execution by the G-drive.

    Although I'm not sure of the exact rules, I noticed that when the Oracle client resides on drive C, but the SQL Developer install is elsewhere, captures some files in its installation rather than from the Oracle SQL Developer client directory. An example is the ojdbc6.jar file. So you could also try installing SQL Developer 3.2 on another drive (internal or external non-disque C) and see if it works.

  • Satellite A300D-11v - wireless network card does not work under Win XP

    I ve problem. I'm looking everywhere and I don t know what s happened.
    I installed XP and I ve problem with WLAN. Before I've used Vista and was ok :)
    I got the driver for RTL8187b of
    http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PNid=1&PFID=1&level=6& Conn = 5 & DownTypeID = 3 & GetDown = false & downloads = true #R TL8187B
    and I tried the official website of Toshiba.

    In Device Manager, everything is ok, but I can't connect.
    This n t work:
    "The wireless network card is Atheros and not Realtek! The LAN card is Realtek but not the wireless network card!
    The Atheros driver can be found here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

    Can someone write me step by step how this fix.

    Please help me and sorry for my English :)

    > Also may try to reinstall the drivers that appear in this web site, appear here the Atheros drivers your need of portable.

    Your computer laptop doesn t support card Atheros, but card Realtek WLan.

    > In Device Manager, everything is ok, but I can't connect.
    As you say the WLan card is recognized correctly, but you can't connect.
    Why?

    I m do not know why, but you should check first if your WLan router uses the same standard WLan (802.11 A, B or G) as the WLan card.
    Check the settings!

    Then check if the right WLan encryption has been selected, check if the Mac address was not enabled, check if the firewall doesn t affect the WLan connectivity.

  • Satellite L100: Wireless network card does not recognize media

    I bought a Wifi (Gigabyte gn-wi01gs) to my L100, but this card does not work. I installed all the drivers, but it does not recognize any network. No other computer has a problem.

    This shows that, when I press Fn + F8 "wireless communication is disabled. Please activate the wireless communication switch "." What 'switch '? There is no switch!
    What should I do?

    Someone mentioned here in the forum that with the version of the BIOS under 2.10, the Wireless LAN card is unable to get a correct IP address of the connected Access Point or it is impossible to get a connection point of access to all.
    Added the new BIOS that fixed a problem with the wireless LAN switch kill, the switch did not work properly.
    WLAN should be activated by pressing FN + F8.

    So please update the BIOS to Version 2.10 or higher, but don't forget to use the good BIOS and the correct procedure of updating the BIOS!
    Incorrect BIOS may damage the motherboard.

  • Satellite P100-429 - new wireless network card does not work

    Hello

    I just upgraded my home network to the draft of the standard "n" and thought that I would upgrade my wireless card on my laptop P100-429;
    Laptop is under Vista Home Premium and has the latest version of BIOS and drivers installed.

    Laptop currently has an equipped Intel 3945ABG card that works very well. I bought an Intel 4965AGN card but when I enter it, the powers of computer to top, but wont load (lights, fan-nothing else)

    Okay - so I read on some forums, could be a bad card, so I bought a brand Toshiba 4965AGN card - P/N G86C0002P710
    Still having the same problem - the computer refuses to start. Intel technical support say the card should work?
    Obviously is a compatibility problem - what can I do about it?

    Or did someone knows what kind of card I should use?

    Thanks for your help!

    I m not a Satellite P100 owner but is your laptop equipped with 3 antennas or only 2?
    If your laptop has only 2 antennas t, you can pass it to N project because this WiFi standard needs of 3 antennas.

    I think that your laptop has only 2 antennas, so that would be the reason why the two cards are not compatible to your laptop.

    Welcome them

  • Wireless network card does not work with Windows 7 myt

    I installed Windows 7 on an old laptop nc6120 and I can't see any of the wireless networks. With cable, everything works perfectly.

    You are the very welcome.

    Here is the link for the driver you need for the WiFi Intel Pro 2200 B/G card.

    That should make it work.

    Then start the windows update program and see if he can find a newer driver.

    If this isn't the case, run the utility driver Intel update and he must find a newer driver.

    http://www.Intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect

    You must have Java installed to run the Intel driver update utility.

    Have you tried it yet?  This is for xp, but it should work.

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/TVSU-update.html

    You can also download Thinkvantage System Update and let it find your driver.

    Sometimes drivers automatically do not install themselves.  You will have to perhaps go into Device Manager and manually update the driver.  Do not let windows, search for it, that it points to the folder where the driver got downloaded.
