Attach a file to your message? Please see

If you attach a file to your message, you might want to consider three ways to do it.

1.) if it is a file use image (JPEG, etc.) small "camera" icon in the toolbar above the Edit screen. This will place the image in the post, and a user can click on it to enlarge it slightly. This allows to bypass the queue.

2.) if it is a video file, use the small icon ' Clap/slate', just above the "camera" icon This puts your file in the message, and allows you to read the file. This allows to bypass the queue.

(3.) If you have a .txt. XML, file etc, use the "attach a file" at the bottom left of your editing window. This will put a link to that file in the post and it will queue. This is necessary because these files must pass through security.

Read restrictions on the size of files and formats. Also read the instructions on how your file can appear, especially toward the bottom of thread.

The locations are based on my installation of IE 7, so there may be differences with browsers.

Hunt

A correction, Bill. If your situation is life threatening and 911 cannot be reached in time, you can use this workaround, even if it was not this way, using the camera icon and downloading your TXT file and can be viewed immediately.

ATTENTION: With the help of this workaround in situations threatening non-life can result in severe fines.

I bought my wife a new MacBook, retina 12 "early 2015, 1.3 GHz Intel Core M, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, running OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 with his old Mac, she would frequently get the ball from spinning to death when she tried to delete an e-mail message, and also when she creates a new message and tried to attach a file.  I was hoping that the new computer would solve this problem.  However, he still does sometimes, but not as often and does not have as much time to finally react.  Activity monitor says that the Mail does not respond when the small wheel is happening.  Looks like there is a corrupted somewhere file that got transferred to the new computer.  Any suggestions on how to solve it?  Previous posts suggested to remove the tray to sand, but the method, that said, does not have the folder that I had to remove.

  • Firefox crashes when you try to attach a file to gmail compose

Laptop Vista 32. When you try to attach a file to a gmail account, compose explore dialog and then firefox crashes. Happens every time and began (I think) with the 16 or 17 years old version. Updated plugins, crossed of troubleshooting on the Help menu, I tried safe mode. All to nothing does not. IE works fine.

After reviewing all services and startup programs using msconfig, I've isolated the problem to a conflict with Dell Media Center in starting. I deleted the software (preinstalled on your laptop) since I never use anyway, re-enabled the acceleration hardware Flash and deleted the line mode protected in the file flash cfg.

NO MORE CRASHES when you try to attach a file to a message in gmail!

Thanks for all your help - could not have corrected it without you.

When you send an e-mail using Outlook Express, I immediately get this message; "Some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks. Please see the list of errors below for more details". Unfortunately, there are no errors listed below and the green bar is frozen on the screen. The message remains in my Outbox and repeated again and again sending. There is absolutely no record and file sent in my sent box. TIA - Ernie

You have apparent dbx file corruption. A common problem.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

I get an Error Message When you try to send emails. "some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks. Please see the list of errors below for more details".

But it sends the message anyway... multiple copies, and she also is put in the "Outbox" in Outlook Express as if it is not sent.

To stop the email to be sent repeatedly to the recipient, I erase it from the "Outbox" but a) you don't know if they really got it) b it is embarrassing for the receiver c) is this a bug I can fix it?

  • iCloud drive appears when I want to send a file to, say, Messages, or attach a file to an e-mail.

How can I make the drive iCloud on my macbook pro (OS X El Capitan, v. 10.11.4) show when I want to send a file that are stored at anyone? Today was Messages which I pop up. Other times, it was in Outlook for Mac or Facebook.

What I ended up doing today opened the relevant folder on iCloud, select the file and share it. If I try the function "send a file" in the Messages, the drive does not appear. I have visible in the sidebar of Finder, but I can see it only when I'm in = the Finder, not when I use a soft.

I checked all the settings I can think, looked through the articles of help and FAQ on apple.com, but couldn't find an answer to something that seems simple enough.

    Thanks for any help!

Messages for OSX is very basic. You cannot navigate to the iCloud drive to get a file to attach.

You can however, as you can see, push a file to iCloud drive to the Message using the share menu on iCloud drive.

That is how it is designed. The iOS app is similar, but you can attach a picture here but only from the photo app or the Photos app, once again, not iCloud drive.
