Attempt to install custom software and update Windows install.

original title: windows installer install problem 3.1

I use windows vista home with service pack 2 installed. I have a custom made software. Before installing this software, I need to install 4 i.e. cystal reports, dotnet, report viewer and Windows Installer 3. I was able to install the first 3, but the windows installer fails, it is said to be "saturated". I also tried MSI 4.5 but of no use. My software runs well on Windows XP. Can anyone help.

Installation with Windows Vista version is:
Windows install 4.0
Version - 4.0.6000.16386
Released with Windows Vista

Windows Installer 3.0 is released with Windows XP SP2. It was released as a redistributable.

You can download Windows Installer 3.0 Redistributable from the Microsoft downloads site, but it has not been created to run on Windows Vista. It will probably give an error message that you have a newer version installed.  You may need to change the program to look for a different version of Windows Installer.

You may be able to install the software in Compatibility Mode.
If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.
Use the following steps:
(1) right click on the program
2) click Properties
3) click on the Compatibility tab
(4) select run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or other operating system, the program has been run successfully.

Check out the link here: make sure to run older programs in this version of Windows

I hope this helps.

    You can do a fresh install if you feel that this is necessary.

    You can try to go through this list as well...

    Search for malware:

    You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

    When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

    -Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
    -Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
    -Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

    You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
    4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

    You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

    Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

    -Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
    -On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
    -Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
    -Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
    -Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
    -Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

  • I can create a system recovery disk that gets installed and updated Windows 7, not the preinstalled HP Vista recovery Partition?

    I have a laptop HP HDX 18 that had 64-bit Windows Vista installed, with a Vista recovery on his C drive Partition.  Since then, I installed clean 64-bit Windows 7 Professional of his Microsoft licensed DVD, that I still have.  I kept with all (200 +) of Windows updates.

    Now, I want to create a system (Flash drive) for this laptop recovery disk, but my concern is that he will lead the recovery in its Partition Vista original, installed at the factory.   If I use W7 administration tools installed to create a system recovery disc, it will recover the old Windows Vista or Windows 7?  In addition, it would be nice to have a system recovery disk that had the latest W7.

    I'm not looking to install the drive link below; However, I prefer the system recovery disk to restore my laptop to its W7 system most recently updated, rather than start over.

    Problem installing Windows updates:

    Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

    Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2: Put the computer in a clean boot State to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the link step 7 to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

    Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.

  • Restore and update Windows

    When you use the windows restore and restore your PC to an earlier date... Windows Update (I put to download, but let me decide what updates to install) offer again updates have been installed after the date of your restore point.  You can see these updates in Windows Hostory.

    Are these updates of window offered because they are installed is no longer even if they appear in the story and you have to click on install, or, they are still installed, even if her restoration before be offered and not deleted when restoring to an earlier date... and you select install you are simply overwrite the same update?

    The view update history list may differ from the list of installed updates. When you do a system restore in Windows 7, updates that have been kidnapped by a specific restore point still appear in the history view update but do not appear in the installed updates. It will be offered by Windows Update and then appears twice as successfully installed and show different installation dates.
    The list displayed when you click on the link to view update history in a file named DataStore.edb.
    This file can become very large, but can be removed if one chooses to do.
    My system 7 it shows currently beyond 25 MB and my XP system it shows more than 50 MB. As you have discovered, it is not always accurate as to what updates are installed.

    As an experience, that I moved to trash, did a scan for updates, and a new was created. Since no new updates have been detected, downloaded, or installed, when I clicked on the link to the history of update of view he said that updates had never been installed. The list of installed updates begged differ and showed all the updates installed.
    Then I did a system restore, a copy of DataStore.edb has been restored to its original location, but the view update history list said that no update was already installed. The installed updates list remained the same and no updates were offered as none had actually been removed.

  • HOW DO I ACTIVATE AND UPDATE WINDOWS

    Contact Lenovo.  They are your first line of support.  You haven't bought Windows 8/8.1 - you bought a computer with a preinstalled license of Windows 8/8.1.  The support comes from the OEM - if they support - return it and get a system from an OEM manufacturer that supports the product they are supposed to.

  • custom layout and update the page elements

    Hello

    I'm working on an APEX application, I need a page to view issues and alternative options, such as only choose radio group or mutiple shoose by box. The user will then check the answers. After the answer questions, send the page to get the score.

    The presentation must be: separate regions by the kind of question. in each region, the question in the first line; the four options in the second line, the checkbox or a radio Fund; in the bottom of the page, there is a button "submit".

    The tables are designed as follows,
    create the table RULE_QA_SHEETS
    (
    SHEET_ID NUMBER of non-null,--ID for the answer of the question sheet
    Category NUMBER not null, - use a tmplate to build the leaf, for example, numbers of gender issue, easy or difficult
    PERSON_ID NUMBER not null,-the user who was answering questions
    DATE OF ANSWER_DATE,
    NOTE VARCHAR2 (4000 TANK)
    )

    create the table RULE_QA_SHEET_ITEMS
    (
    ITEM_ID NUMBER not null,--ID for the question in this form.
    SHEET_ID NUMBER not null,--master id of the table.
    QUESTION_ID NUMBER not null,--ID for the issue in the inventory.
    MEET VARCHAR2(30 CHAR) - the answer the user checked, will be compared to the inventory. Once the user to submit the page, this column will be updated.
    )

    I've not found a good report APEX model, and I can use dynamic content plsql to generate the layout but no idea how to upgrade the right answers.

    Everyone has the same experience, or give me a help, that would be great!

    Could you please give me an example of this? page 15, pls help to control dynamic pl/sql region that generates the page layout.

    See page 150 in your application. I started with a copy of your page 15 and brought some changes in regions of dynamic PL/SQL to produce more semantic HTML by using ordered lists and labels. Labels provide also bigger clickable/tangible goals by answering the questions.

    declare

      i number := 1;

    begin

      htp.p('

    1. ' || q.question || '
        '); htp.p('
      1. ' || apex_item.radiogroup(i, 'A', null, p_item_id => 'q-' || i || '-a', p_item_label => q.answer_a) || ''); htp.p('
      2. ' || apex_item.radiogroup(i, 'B', null, p_item_id => 'q-' || i || '-b', p_item_label => q.answer_b) || ''); htp.p('
      3. ' || apex_item.radiogroup(i, 'C', null, p_item_id => 'q-' || i || '-c', p_item_label => q.answer_c) || ''); htp.p('
      4. ' || apex_item.radiogroup(i, 'D', null, p_item_id => 'q-' || i || '-d', p_item_label => q.answer_d) || ''); htp.p('
      '); i := i + 1; end loop; htp.p('
    '); end;

    Some CSS is required for formatting required and to get the labels actually appear:

    ol.questions>li {
      margin-bottom: 1em;
      font-weight: 600;
    }
    ol.answers {
      margin: 0.5em 2em;
      list-style: lower-alpha outside;
    }
      ol.answers>li {
        clear: left;
        margin: 0.5em 0;
        font-weight: 400;
      }
      ol.answers>li span {
        display: inline-block;
      }
      ol.answers>li label.hideMeButHearMe {
        position: static;
        top: auto;
      }
      ol.answers>li input {
        float: left;
        margin: 0 0.5em 0 0;
        padding: 0;
        vertical-align: middle;
      }

    Finally, there is a simple process that records the answers in a collection of the APEX. Collections are frequently used apps Q & A and survey to store responses temporarily before their final transformation:

    declare

      answer varchar2(32767);

    begin

      /*
        Create or empty the APEX collection used to temporarily store the user
        responses.
      */
      apex_collection.create_or_truncate_collection('ANSWERS');

      for i in 1..50
      loop
        /*
          Dynamically capture the contents of each apex_application array...
        */

        if answer is not null
        then

    It appeals to a rather horrible dynamic assessment of the apex_application tables. As Howard points out, there is only 50 of these paintings, which can be limited if you plan to have more than 50 questions. A common way to avoid these two problems is to present only one question at a time (turn-off to back on the same page in a sort of Pseudo-Assistant until all questions are answered), so you only need to refer to a single table, known.

    Note, however, that I am not keen on this model of single table. You can consider using a more flexible and extensible model as in This example.

  • Find software and drivers HP

    Never find to search the drivers of HP or software for your HP computer. Fortunately HP maintains the original drivers available on their Web site, just to know where to go to find them.

    Below will have instructions on how you can find the drivers and software

    The first thing you want to do is to navigate the site

    HP customer service

    On this page, you'll want to put your computer product number and click on the button NEXT.

    Once you have found the product page, you will see a page similar to this one

    From there, you will want to click on the software and drivers link. This will then take you to the next page.

    You can now select the operating system, the computer is running. It will be important to identify the appropriate operating system and if it is 32-bit or 64-bit. Not all drivers are universal. Install a Vista driver on a Windows 7 computer could produce unwanted results.

    If your operating system is not listed then HP currently has no drivers or software available for this operating system.

    Once you select your operating system and click the button FOLLOWING, that you need to list software and drivers available for your computer.

    There are a few things to keep in mind.

    1. This is not a complete list of software. Many software applications are easily re-downloadable through your HP Recovery Manager. More information available for this application available via the link below. While the link is specifically for Windows 7, many of the same information is still true on all Windows platforms.

    Using Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7)

While HP has often maintains a list of the original drivers for the hardware component in your computer that is available on their Web site, there may be some driver updates are available. • HP Envy 5660: Failed to update Windows 10 thanks HP Envy 5660

    After the installation of the printer HP ENVY 5660 updates always display the error "• Hewlett-Packard - Company WSD multifunction printer, MFP, other materials - Null Print - 5660 HP ENVY series - error 0x800f020b". Even after the withdrawal of the unit and uninsatalling this error repeatedly, and update windows 10 is not coming. How to remove this error and how to install the printer without this problem?

    Hi @tstyam,

    Thank you for showing your interest in the HP Forums!

    I understand that you are experiencing this error "Hewlett-Packard - Company WSD multifunction printer, MFP, other materials - Null Print - 5660 HP ENVY series - error 0x800f020b". I'd be happy to help you with this.

    It seems that there is a driver on the computer. If you have just installed Windows or a device and the Device Manager has 'Unknown devices' or 'other devices '. This means that they are in a State of error or without no driver installed.

    To resolve this issue, remove the "unknown device" or "Other devices" and run Windows Update to fix the problem.

    1. Go to settings, then select devices.
    2. Click on connected devices.
    3. Click on Device Manager.
    4. Open Printers and then uninstall/remove/delete the "unknown device".
    5. Open the devices and then uninstall/remove/delete the "unknown device".
    6. Launch Windows Update to correct the problem.

    Once the software is installed, it will not be removed under normal circumstances.

    I do not know if your computer is still infected and it is removed or the problem is that you can't 'see' photoshop' but it is always installed.

    to verify this, check the installation directory and check its size on your hard drive.

    Hi Keith,

    You won't be able to re - install using the discs and the number of series that you used initially, but we have a solution.

    The activation for more server CS2 is no longer in service. For this reason, we did a version of these titles of software available that doesn't require activation. This is for users who already buy the software.  For more details and specific links for the software, please see the following link:

    Activation server stops for Creative Suite 2 and Acrobat 7 product Macromedia

    Instead of your old serial number, use the one shown next to the download link: download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products
