  • Where can I find the lid actuator switch?

I have a laptop Compaq Presario CQ61-222SA and looking through assistance HP leads me to believe that the lid actuator switch is defective.

During the startup process, the screen is very dark and barely readable. There is dim when it reaches the Windows desktop, but everything else seems to work fine (sound etc.).  Compaq support site says that probable cause is the switch actuator cover that think the laptop, the lid is closed and so goes into power save mode the screen darkening.

When connecting to an external monitor, the screen of the laptop goes to his habit, light for a few seconds then fades again - the external screen works perfectly, but I have a laptop to use it where I want, do not be stuck in the office where my monitor is sitting!  The few seconds of normal screen brightness makes me think that it is not a problem with the backlight.

Looking at the forums it seems to be a fairly common problem with HP laptops, but nobody seems to find where is the lid actuator switch.  What is an internal switch that I can't find one outside?

I ended up dismantling the lap top and found that a small rectangular magnet was detached from his participation in the entourage of the plastic screen.  The magnet must be placed in a location just below where the "compaq" logo is printed (but inside, so out of sight until what you take apart the computer).  The magnet had attached to a piece of advice which I assume is the actuator switch, then thought laptop that the lid has been closed permanantly.  Once removed and pasted (and just pasted in cases) back in its slot everything has worked.

  • motion control for vertical actuator and data acquisition

    Hello

I am a researcher (a branch of civil engineering) geotechnical engineering and I have very little knowledge about the acquisition of control and data motion, so would need a lot of help from the experts OR. I have only knowledge base on these 2 aspects based on my reading of some materials on the Web site of NOR and youtube videos, so I hope that you bare with me . Here are my questions:

I am trying to build an actuator which will be used to push a probe (a penetrometer with a load cell to measure the resistance of a soil sample), resembling the concept, photography in the attached file. I need to have these criteria for my system:

    (1) actuator, which can push the probe at speeds between 0.01 mm/s - 300 mm/s with precision and move the probe cyclically (upwards and downwards) in the vertical direction
    (2) load expected on the probe into the ground range: 0.02kN - 6 kN.
    (3) necessary to get the load cell load data and the speed of the probe.

    4) able to control the actuator to a PC (speed and posotion) and monitor data from transducers and data log time even the transducers.

Guess my beginners is that I will need:

    For orders:
    (1) software - LabVIEW and NOR-motion assistant

    (2) controller - NI PCI-7342

    (3) driver/amplifier - analogue servo AKD Drive

    (4) motor - motor brushless servo AKM

    For the acquisition:
    (1) software - based LabVIEW development systems

    (2) amplifiers or other device - no idea what type on the conditioning of signals

    (3) data acquisition device - no idea what type

Since I'm a beginner, is - that someone might recommend components (hardware and software) for the control and data acquisition. I'm on a tight budget, so I thankful if someone could help me to recommend components good enough to build my system.

    Thanks for your help.

At these rates, you will need to run the sensor for the cDAQ.  You can configure the analog output on the Tritex nationally on the position.  There is an adjustable filter that you can set in order to get a clean enough to 300 Hz signal.  When you learn about the Tritex, make sure that let you them know what comms and e/s that you want to use.  If I remember, not all options have worked together.  The analog output may need to be my, but you can put a resistance through the acquisition of input data to get the voltage instead.  I don't remember all the details.  You should really not too much on the Tritex/LabVIEW side.  You will send your movement parameters (beginning of end of race, speed, position, accel, cut), and if you cycle (I believe you) or simply running in a loop.  You could also just be able to use the functions of jog.  When you get close to knowing exaclty what you need, PM me and I'm sure we can work something out with the drivers.  You need only the basics.  In fact, you could probably do this all your movements via digital and analog i/o.

  • Linear actuator, motor controller and labview. Establishing a connection.

    Overview:
I have a 12VDC linear actuator (potentiometer built in) connected to the and 21v3 Jrk USB motor with Feedback Controller (http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1392). Feedback from the actuator wires connect to the motor controller motor USB controller connects to the computer via USB.

    Problem:
Establish the connection between the motor controller and labview.

    What I've done so far:

I installed the drivers for the motor controller and windows detects it. OR MAX detects my motor controller (photo attached), but for some reason when I try to access it via the daq assistant in labview is not see it. I tried also access it through VISA with no result...

    Help will be appreciated.

    Thank you

You have some things you have to look in:

    • When you have installed the software, he was installing a USB > dll Com Port virtual as FTDIchip or similar? If so, when connect you your device, it will reveal itself as a normal COM (new) Port in Device Manager. You then try to talk to this COM port.
    • If you try to use the USB native on the map (as MAX has detected for you), then you will need to use the code in the .NET framework provided by the manufacturer (probably written in c#) and do your own builders in LabVIEW. If you have never done this before, it's not trivial.

I would call the manufacturer and just tell them what you're trying to do. They have probably treated before LabVIEW and can have an example to help you get started.

Edit: for fun, I followed the link you provided (which doesn't really). I searched "LabVIEW" of their site and indeed has achieved several successes. There is one thing that I downloaded (can't resist looking at code) was a gigantic turd. However, it doesn't use a standard Com port.

  • How to measure the digital output of the linear actuator on USB-6009?

    Hello

I am a new user of Labview and need help to measure a digital input signal.

I have an actuator Bimba Original line electric with a motor continuous integrated with encoder, drive and the controller. The drive has a programmable digital output that I put as a tachometer output that emits pulses of square wave 100 per turn of the engine. I put the engine to make a total of 56 rev in 22 dry. I want to measure the speed of motor rotation labview real-time and synchronize it with a few other analog input signals. I wired the actuator for the USB-6009 case as shown below.

I opened the test i/o digital USB-6009 Panel and fix all the lines of port 0 as inputs. However, when I click on start and run the actuator, p0.0 led flashes, as indicated below.

Shouldn't the led blink in response to revolutions of engines?

I want basically to collect the drive pulse signals and convert them in rpm on labview.

    I have it wired correctly?

It would help if you do not attach the HIGH signal.  Remove the + 5V in the circuit.

  • With LabVIEW Piezo actuator control

    Hello

I recently started learning LabVIEW and I have some questions about a program that I'm working on.  I need to be able to enter a ramp to a piezoelectric actuator signal and measure the signal resulting from the internal piezoelectric actuator probe.

    I use the following equipment:

    1. NI PCI-6110 data acquisition card

    2 NI BNC-2110 connection map

    3 P 845.60 Piezo actuator (http://www.physikinstrumente.com/en/products/prspecs.php?sortnr=101200)

    4th Signal conditioner 509 (http://www.physikinstrumente.com/en/products/prdetail.php?sortnr=602500)

    5 E 505 amplifier (http://www.physikinstrumente.com/en/products/prdetail.php?sortnr=602300)

    6 LabVIEW 8.0

I modified a program that I found on a different thread (http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=137810&query.id=843435#M137810) to enter a ramp followed signal of a constant signal.  The user can designate the amplitude and time of the signal of the ramp, and the length of the constant signal.

I've also attached a screenshot of the front panel, after the execution of the program.  The white trace on the waveform graph matches the entry and the red curve is the output of the sensor.  Graph Error plots simply the absolute value of the difference between the input and the output.

    My questions are:

    1. is there a way to reduce the error between the input and output?

    2. is there a way to display the chart of waveform in real-time?  Right now the graph shows the data after the program stops running.

    Thank you

    Joel

    Hi Joel,

You can use PID controls to reduce the error.  You have the PID toolkit?  Go to the finder of the example and do a search for PID get some useful examples of VI that should help you to do what you need.  Since you're already calculation error you could do manual feedback where you multiply your mistake by a gain factor (you will have to do trial and error to find the right win factor for your system), then add it to your output.  It would be easier if you had the PID toolkit however.

  • Load cell, compatibility linear actuator

I am putting together a new test configuration that will operate a linear actuator, in charge of sampling. Data will be graphically represented on a graph of load vs displacement. I am new to Data Acquisition, so I just wanted to run my installation by a person who has a little more experience before you start spending money.

Motor and controller are ZAGARELLA. The engine is a NEMA size 23, 60mm travel (model #NA23C60), the force of 175 lbs; controller is a phase 2, up to 2. 5A by the motor controller step-by-step phase (Model #T - MCA). Engine connects to the controller with a Minidin 8. Data cable to the controller is a controller's connector Minidin 6.

Load cell is a cell of weighing Subminiature Honeywell Model 11 with a capacity of 100 lbs (range BR code). I also use a Honeywell model UV-10 online amplifier to convert the millivolt signal ±10Vdc signal.

Input module is a NI 9219, 4 channels, with connector 6-pos or blocks.

Output module is a NI 9265, 4 channels, with connector 10-pos or blocks.

My question is, what is the best way to connect to the motor controller for input/output modules? Also, same question for the Load Cell/amplifier and the input module. My setup looks, as it will work. I'm off little blind here and would be greatly HERE can anyone shed any light. Thanks in advance.

    Jeremy robots

    Hi Jeremy,.

I'm not too familiar with the ZAGARELLA products but you were seeking to use the modules OR to send commands to the controller or you were looking to them for use as drive for the engine? Whatever it is, these modules will not be able to do it either. A quick search on google shows that the motor controller communicates via serial and or one of the modules that you have listed has a connector series. If you plan put these modules in a cRIO, you could use a NI 987 x to communicate through series.

If you thought using modules OR as a drive for the engine, it is not possible either. You say your Motors require 2. 5, but most NI 9265 will be able to output is 20 m.

In regard to the load cell, it seems you're going to need power external amplifier, which make no incremental signal you're trying to read. 9219 read only of differential signals, then you probably want to consider using a NI 920 x or a 9221. To connect the signal of the amplifier to one of these modules, the signal wire should go to one of the channels I and the Earth to the Terminal COM.

  • actuation of the valves

    Hello

I used before Labview but I don't consider myself as an expert. I am trying to operate two solenoid valves with the acquisition of data USB 6525. The valves need 12Vdc for 20-30ms to operate, once spent no extra power is needed to maintain the valve in place. I want to use this DAQ because it has internal relays of SS I want to control using LabView. I want the Labview block diagram to let the user choose when to open and close the relay using milliseconds (this is very important). Here are my questions:

    (1) how to connect the valves to the USB 6525 DAQ with the external power source. (to check)

    (2) I need help create the block diagram, I don't know where to start

Any help will be greatly appreciated, I tried to solve this problem for more than a week.

  • Thud with my Portege 2000

My Portege 2000 hard disk drive makes this 'thud' noises? Is this normal? I fear it may be about to break! Should I back up ASAP?

Fear not ASP8686! The actuator gets ceased to be on the media to a ramp where there is inactivity disk of typically 0.5 s FYI, the actuator contains a control arm where the read/write heads are located at the end of the arm. The noise you hear is the trigger to achieve a magnetic catch. The heads are removed by the media. This reduces the amount of energy that consumes the hard drive and in turn, it improves the reliability of the HARD drive. Moreover, it is a good idea to back up your computer regularly!
