• FCPX: Audio Units (NI Guitar Rig 5) hangs startup

  This isn't really a question, but after some problems start FCPX, some might find it useful.

  FCPX hung on starting. I tried reseting preferences (Command + Option), removed fcpbundles, etc. I kept getting the rotation beach ball at the start of the application. After digging in the Console, I recently installed Native Instruments Komplete Ultimate 10, and I was getting sound issues revolving around Guitar Rig 5.

  FCPX load these audio plugins at startup and when starting, because this plugin, it has been suspended. After his retirement (located in 5.component /Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/components/Guitar Rig), FCPX started without problem.

  There was a problem with Audio Units involving awhile back non - Apple AUs. The Native Instruments AUs have been corrected. I have NO Guitar Rig 5 FX and MFX and the loading in FCPX. You should go to Applications/Native Instruments/Service Center / and start the application Service Center and update your Native Instruments software.  [Other software OR I can attest personally are: Absynth 5 MFX, FM8 MFX, Reaktor 6 MFX and Reaktor 5 FX (and chauffeur).]

  Another problem is: FCPX only valid once AUs by update. Any changes or updates, you bring to your AUs, FCPX will ignore it until this update then.

  To force FCPX to revalidate your AUs:

  Go to Macintosh HD > users > YourUserFolder > Library > Preferences

  Find the file "com.apple.audio.infoHelper.plist" and throw it in the trash

  Revive FCPX. FCPX will revalidate AUs and they all need to take now.

• How to export a ProRes422 Split Audio Master of FCPX 10.2.3?

  I have to deliver some ProRes422 split audio Master to a customer, the audio requirements are to the image as an attachment.

  I know with FCPX I can assign roles and choose 'Roles as multitrack QuickTime', but I don't know how to do these specific titles, Stereo L and R stereo in particular. In addition, some of the projects have no dialogue but the client wants all 4 channels regardless of the content, so in this case I would need an empty channel 3. I have a feeling that I'm somehow more complicated this request of customer base, but if anyone knows how to do this it would be greatly appreciated.

  For the empty channels, I guess you can add and assign silent clips as placeholders.

  The red line shows that you have marked these clips as "rejected."  (and blue = keywords, green = favorite, etc..)

• Repair of audio flaws in FCPX

  I'm moving from FCP-7 to FCPX, and I admit it can be quite frustrating at times. X has many improvements on the 7 that I like a lot (the markers that move with clips, yay!), but there are still things I like better than in X to 7. Or maybe I don't know how to do things in X again. In this case, ignorance is NOT happiness!

  For example, in FCP - 7 I like being able to see the entire waveform in the audio track. In this kind of a track, I see every word in an interview, often as a separate lump or bump in the stream of waveform, and I can cut or deal specifically with keyframes, if I have to, I can't do very well with few of these mountains or wave conjuncts which grow upward from the bottom of a FCPX audio track. (Or I will love the little better mountains when I get used to them?) Hey Apple - perhaps we could have a choice of how we want the waveforms to appear in FCPX?)

  If I have a sound like a click I want to eliminate in an audio track of the FCP 7, I can make a round trip above Soundtrack Pro as an Audio file project, where I can see the need very precisely, in extremely detailed audio waveforms, and there I have all kinds of tools to eliminate it with.

  Here is a concrete example, I'm dealing with right now in FCPX: I have an interview of a person whose first language is not English, and there a lot of clicks and pop in the speech which undoubtedly improve the words spoken in his native language, but English is simply distracting. The microphone unfortunately picked up all this racket very distinctly. If I could just send this audio track on to Soundtrack Pro it would be easy to deal with, but as it is, every click is a vague (and sometimes difficult to isolate) hint in one of the FCPX mountains in the audio track.

  So I Zoom in to the maximum in the audio track of FCPX and try to tamp pointing each click down with images keys, in the hope of eliminating it, but a lot of all time, with that I get is a click a little quieter, but still noticeable. If I push all the long silence, and then the empty spot in the audio track is almost as distracting, as was the trigger.

  Are there ways of audio repair defective in FCPX that I just haven't met yet? Or are people who want more control over the audio repairs send their audio tracks of any substitute Soundtrack (may make sense?)

  I have a selection of range the area usually clip and take it out and attach a small piece of your room below. I don't know enough about the logic of whether she can make a cut and fill how you could of Soundtrack Pro.

• Similar audio files in FCPX

  I have two different video clips, one is 6 hours long and the other is 2 minutes.  Both video files have the same song.  I was wondering if I can use FCPX to use the two-minute clip and do match the clip is 6 hours long.  This way, that I don't have to go through 6 hours of video.  Is there a quick way to do it?  Thank you.

  To clarify, I would use the clip of two minutes using FCP for know where this song is in the video for 6 hours, without having to go through all the video from 6 hours to his research.  Thank you

• Save to USB audio in sync with the Facetime camera on FCPX

  Hello!

  So, I try to record video of a solo concert using the Facetime camera integrated on my MBP mid-2012, but using a USB audio device. I know I can use the function "voice over" Adding audio afterwards, but which then leads to an irritating noise constantly sync it all together...

  Is it possible (which I don't currently see) to save the external audio of the screen when I import video of the Facetime camera? Or y at - it another way to do it altogether?

• No sound/audio in MP4 files

  Hi hoping someone here can help out - I use El Capitan 10.11.6 and the audio is missing some MP4 files that I downloaded from a GoPro camera. My sound is fine otherwise, output noise is fine, alert sounds are fine. MOV files off other cameras play well with audio easily here, but I don't hear anything in the files MP4 Quicktime, VLC, Final Cut Pro X, even if in Final Cut Pro X there is an audio waveform on each clip and they were converted to Quicktime using the MPEG stream clip (there no audible sound in the program either). I tried the same files on colleagues Mac running Mavericks and the sound is fine out there so here something to replace or reinstall?

  You run the same exact file on El Capitan and the Mavericks?  Shouldn't be any change unless MPEGstreamclip has been defined to use some esoteric audio codec in the file.  First of all, there is no reason to convert the files off your GoPro.  FCPX will work with native files very well.

  And, if you never convert, use the GoPro Studio app for this.  Nothing I do will have problems with the standard files.

  We use GoPros all the time and didn't have any problems.  What are the settings on the GoPro cameras?

  I have a camera Sony TRV-900F video connected via FW800 to an iMac late 2009 with 16 GB of RAM, a quad core i7 2.8 and one 1 original to HDD with El Capitan.

  When I import one of my miniDV tapes (which are between 2000 and 2012 about and been wound and rewound before capture and which were mainly recorded in one take on new tapes Sony and never reused) FCPX any images in fragments of random size (from a few hundredK to 10-14 MB) and frequently shows loss of images and some audio distortion imported into the timeline and re-read.

  Final tried to create archives first and then import, but the result is the same.

  What I don't understand, is that, at least apparently, none of these problems of 'corruption' appears if I look/hear the tapes in camcorder Sony itself!

  I tried to use iMovie and same fragmentation occurs so I guess it is not related to the SO FCPX itself.

  So far, I have received the iMac 1 TB hard drive and now have tried to import on a 128 GB SSD in a USB enclosure (which is USB3, but if I'm not mistaken my iMacs USB ports are USB2). Even to jump occurs.

  Maybe I need to configure the SSD in a different way and to define not only as the backup directory for imports?

  If the best ideas don't come to mind the next tests I'll make are:

  (a) purchase of a NEW band and try to record and import from it. If it works, this would indicate the older strips are damaged, but it does not explain why they look good in the camera.

  (b) purchase a head cleaning cassette and to use it carefully and see if he would heal playback and import.

  Try the import with QuickTime player and see if you get the same results.

  I would like to export an audio clip file so that I can work with it in WavePad. From what I found on the internet, this seems to have been simple in earlier versions of FCPX but not the version I have 10.2.3

  The video file is not correctly displayed in the timeline panel. Are there audio set the video. You can expand the file into the compound to show video and audio?

• Changes in audio level

  I'm working on a project of multi camera.

  1 he acquired the audio master. In the timeline panel, I open the three camera angles and adjusted audio cam 1 to about-6dB. When I collapse the angles of camera on the timeline to edit I find audio cam 1goes well in the red.

  No problems experienced with this in FCPX.  What version of FCPX are you using?  I would fix the audio in the project timeline levels when I start my edit.

• FCPX 'turns' MP4-XAVC-S in. MOV on import

  I tried to import some media (recorded on a Sony a6000) XAVC-S in the final cut when I noticed something odd.

  If I import media directly from the map, FCPX "turns" the media in. MOV files. If, on the other hand, I move MP4 XAVC-S (only the.) MP4 and not the. XML files) then it is important as long as not MOV and MP4. Anyone know what is happening and what is recommend it import method (for better quality)?

  In both cases I chose "copy to library" and has not chosen any transcoding, analyzes the keywords or audio/video.

  This is the correct behavior. When you import from the map, or better out of an archive of the camera, the media are re-tensioned for QuickTime. That's what you need to do. Do not use the MPEG-4 files.

  I recorded a seminar using several audio and video sources. Audio sources include a wire tie, room microphone and read directly from a computer.

  I got all the raw materials imported into FCPX and created a multicam clip, and everything is synchronized perfectly.

  For the video, I know how to make the cut between my different cameras.

  But for audio, I would be able to play several audio channels at once - namely, lapel mic and the mic to the audience. How can I do this?

  I know I could put the multicam audio clip: setback (for example) then also drag the microphone to the audience for the game. But that means every time I make an edit, I have to make it through two sources and must be absolutely sure that they fall never out of sync.

  I guess I could drag the multicam clip in the timeline twice (one above the other, so two are playing simultaneously), with a video source set to none. But the same problem - I always have to be very careful with the changes, two parallel versions never move out of sync.

  Is there a better way to do it?

  There are also sometimes I can do some automation of the volume of the different channels... so everything what you are proposing, please keep this in mind.

  In fact with a multicam clip you need not "stuff" to work with multiple audio. It has excellent support directly in the application.

  Select in the timeline. Go to the Audio Inspector, in the change from stereo to mono dual channel configuration. Now, you have access and controls on individual tracks. Uh, I don't think you can ever go back to a stereo clip, however, so try this on a copy of the clip problem first.
