Audio tracks ritardando

It is possible to program a ritardando in Logic Pro X 10.2.2 file that uses audio only (no lunch)?

Ritardando average programming create you a Curve of Tempo in the athletics world. As the name suggests, this is a global setting that affects all the tracks and their regions inside. But there is one exception. "SMPTE Lock.

The absolute time of your project, you can lock each region or individual events within a region (even the Automation Control Points). When you change the Tempo, this stay of object with this absolute time address and are not offset by any change of Tempo.

In your case, do the following:

  • Highlight all areas of MIDI in your workspace that you want to lock
  • Right-click on one of the regions to view the context Menu
  • Select Position of SMPTE SMPTE Logck ➤ Lock
  • Now all those blocked area will display a small padlock in the area header to indicate that they are locked at the time absolute (SMPTE) and not the relative time (bars | beats)
  • Change the Tempo or the creation of a curve of Tempo will not affect the position of these regions and MIDI events inside.

Be careful with this command, because you can really mess up your project. For example, one region, change the Tempo, and then liberate the region and return the locking tempo change.

This requires a thorough understanding of the so-called time stamp of an object in the logic, it is referenced to the absolute time or relative time and what happens when you change this reference.

Here is a form from my book "Logic Pro X - détails", where I have a separate chapter just on Tempo and time with an in-depth discussion and explanation on this subject, something that other books still shy away from.

Hope that helps

  • iMovie and several audio tracks

    Hello

I'm trying to import video with multiple audio tracks (track 1 - background sound + voice; Track 2 - background only. Track 3 - voice only) in an iMovie but it just merge all tracks to unique soundtrack.

How to split audio tracks in my video?

    Thank you.

iMovie gives no control on separate audio tracks, you should use a professional for editing software do.  I think you can remove the audio tracks you don't want to hear using the handbrake (https://handbrake.fr/) before you import into iMovie (although I've never tried myself).

  • Field of audio tracks changed without pitch shift effect applied. How would I fix this?

I opened a voice on the project to discover that all the voices recorded were deeper, as if the effect of curvature of pitching has lowered the height of 2 semitones, even if there is no effect of moving field on the audio track.

I can't help thinking that this is a major bug or I have something clicked by mistake. The project was ready to pounce, and now I'm scratching my head completely perplexed trying to figure out how to fix it. I tried to delete the list of actions in the history of cancellation but that does not solve the pitching glitch.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

I don't know that I have followed completely. You recorded a voice-over and sounds good, but when you EXPORT it, it sounds lowest? Or it sounds more down in the logical session already?

The only reason why I can think of for such behavior is a sample rate mismatch. It happened to me once I opened another software, which defined the sampling frequency of 48 kHz, but my logical session was 44.1 kHz. Logical and got confused. Recorded everything with 48 kHz while thinking it was 44.1 kHz. So play 48 thousand samples per second with a speed of 44 thousand samples per second is the same effect as a slower band, it slows down. She makes audio a little more slowly and the ground drops. As slowly reduce the speed of a vinyl record. Maybe it's the case. At this point, I don't know what to do. I had this problem but I do not remember how I fixed it. I think that I tried to change the metadata of the file and replace where it says ' I am a file 44.1 kHz ' with 'no, I'm actually a 48 kHz' file. I think I used Apple for "compressor" if I'm not wrong, but I couldn't say it's time back.

Or, if everything sounds well in logic and exported just the audio sounds weird, then maybe the software that you play with, somehow has the bad example of fixed rate and plays the record with 44.1 kHz 48 kHz, resulting in the same effect.

    Hope I helped a little.

  • Audio tracks to follow tempo changes

    Hi all

I'm really confused about something on Garage Band for iOS. Currently using an iPad with iOS 9.3.1 Pro 12.9.

I started a new project, captured a loop of battery from another application (Anytune Pro in this case) and trimmed the loop so I could loop it and practice on top of it.

I changed the tempo of the project and audio followed the project tempo change in an "elastic audio" way.

What is happening now is that I tried to do again, and audio tracks do not follow the tempo change more! I don't know what I did different, I tried to reproduce several ways, but it simply does not work...

Here is the link for the session, you can open it in your iOS device and change the tempo and you will see that the sequence (salsa one) will match the tempo of the session.

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/swbfnj24qbuzhmn/AABSGk-zwc1GlMqxlYTMAhQda?DL=0

If anyone can help me and explain how to make the audio tracks to follow tempo changes, I'll be very grateful! Thank you very much!!

    Hi flaviolira123!

I can't open your file in Garageband (latest Version).

But I think that you can only use Apple Loops loops to automatically match the tempo.

I tried to loop an imported audio clip (import song, trimm)- but I do not have to be matching of tempo.

I imported a DM1 via Interapp drum - but if I change the tempo of the project, my pace is in the old tempo...

  • MIDI synth external record while monitoring its audio to an audio track

Here's what I'm trying to do:

Remove my material mixer and jack my remaining external hardware Synths directly in my I/O.

In PD, it's easy. Just "of entry monitor", the audio track the synth is connected, create a midi for the external synthesizer track and there you go. I want to record and tweak midi only NOT the audio.

I can't get LPX for this. LPX will ALWAYS record the audio and midi.

Any thoughts? I must be missing something very basic.

Create a track external Midi and and use the external instrument plugin (exactly what is done)

Set the Midi port regardless of your midi controller is connected to and the analog way everywhere where you have the audio of the synth.

  • Sounds of rattling on audio track

    Hello

I read here that you need to convert mp3 to aiff file in order to get rid of the noise by clicking on the audio track on the sequence.

I use fcp 7 and yosemite to OS X. Neither iTunes nor Quicktime give me the option of conversion...

Any ideas where I could convert?

    Thank you very much

Compressor will be. And Quicktime Pro will be too... Choose EXPORT, then in the export, EXPORT dialog box drop-down list, choose SOUND to AIFF.

If MP3s are music files, they might have DRM (copy protection) that prevent the conversion.

  • How to change the volume of a portion of an audio track

I have an audio track where part of it is too strong (in the middle).  Is there a way to select this area of the single audio track and change the volume for just this part of the track?  Thank you for helping this newbie

Yes, you can use the track volume automation.

What version of GarageBand do you use?

    In GarageBand 10:

    • Define the automation of the track of "Volume". You can see a slim automation curve, yellow.
    • Command-click on the track at the start of the area where you want the volume to add a control point. Add a second control point near the first and drag down the volume.  Add another ctrl-point where you want to go back to the old volume.

  • How to save on multiple audio tracks?

I'm going by Apple Logic help to try and learn how to use it.  I am currently in the recording section, learn how to record on multiple tracks at once.  Here's what helps:

Save on multiple audio tracks at once

    1. Do one of the following:
      • Choose file > Audio recordings overlap > Cycle Mode on > create titles and silent.
      • Choose file > Project Settings > save, then choose the Cycle > create titles and Mute from the pop-up menu, overlapping Audio recordings.
      • CTRL-click on the Record button in the control bar, choose Save settings from the context menu, and then choose Cycle > create titles and Mute from the pop-up menu, overlapping Audio recordings.
    2. Set the input source instrument or microphone for each track you want to record.
    3. Click on the button Activate in the track header of each track you want to record.
    4. Move the playhead to the point in the rule where you want to begin recording.
    5. Logic Pro includes a metronome, which plays a steady beat to help you play in time while recording. You can disable this active or disabled using the metronome button in the control bar.
    6. Click the Count button in the control bar so that the metronome play a preset count-in before the start of the recording. Note: For initial configuration, choose registration > plug-in software component count, and select a measure.
    7. Click on the record button in the bar control (or press R) to start recording.
    8. Start to sing or play your instrument. A new audio region appears on each of the active record tracks.
    9. Click on the Stop button in the bar control (or press the space bar) to stop recording.

I did, but it does not work.  I created two tracks.  I go to a track and click the button Save, then go the other way and click on save, but when I click on the button Save on the Panel at the top, it records only to the last track, I selected the folder it does not save to the other channel.  It seems that as soon as I go to another track and arm to save, it disables the recording on the previous track.  Apparently, help left something in the process.  If anyone can solve this?

    Input 1 > track 1
