Audio tracks to follow tempo changes

Hi all

I'm really confused about something on Garage Band for iOS. Currently using an iPad with iOS 9.3.1 Pro 12.9.

I started a new project, captured a loop of battery from another application (Anytune Pro in this case) and trimmed the loop so I could loop it and practice on top of it.

I changed the tempo of the project and audio followed the project tempo change in an "elastic audio" way.

What is happening now is that I tried to do again, and audio tracks do not follow the tempo change more! I don't know what I did different, I tried to reproduce several ways, but it simply does not work...

Here is the link for the session, you can open it in your iOS device and change the tempo and you will see that the sequence (salsa one) will match the tempo of the session.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/swbfnj24qbuzhmn/AABSGk-zwc1GlMqxlYTMAhQda?DL=0

If anyone can help me and explain how to make the audio tracks to follow tempo changes, I'll be very grateful! Thank you very much!!

Hi flaviolira123!

I can't open your file in Garageband (latest Version).

But I think that you can only use Apple Loops loops to automatically match the tempo.

I tried to loop an imported audio clip (import song, trimm)- but I do not have to be matching of tempo.

I imported a DM1 via Interapp drum - but if I change the tempo of the project, my pace is in the old tempo...

Have you found a solution?

  • Field of audio tracks changed without pitch shift effect applied. How would I fix this?

I opened a voice on the project to discover that all the voices recorded were deeper, as if the effect of curvature of pitching has lowered the height of 2 semitones, even if there is no effect of moving field on the audio track.

I can't help thinking that this is a major bug or I have something clicked by mistake. The project was ready to pounce, and now I'm scratching my head completely perplexed trying to figure out how to fix it. I tried to delete the list of actions in the history of cancellation but that does not solve the pitching glitch.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

I don't know that I have followed completely. You recorded a voice-over and sounds good, but when you EXPORT it, it sounds lowest? Or it sounds more down in the logical session already?

The only reason why I can think of for such behavior is a sample rate mismatch. It happened to me once I opened another software, which defined the sampling frequency of 48 kHz, but my logical session was 44.1 kHz. Logical and got confused. Recorded everything with 48 kHz while thinking it was 44.1 kHz. So play 48 thousand samples per second with a speed of 44 thousand samples per second is the same effect as a slower band, it slows down. She makes audio a little more slowly and the ground drops. As slowly reduce the speed of a vinyl record. Maybe it's the case. At this point, I don't know what to do. I had this problem but I do not remember how I fixed it. I think that I tried to change the metadata of the file and replace where it says ' I am a file 44.1 kHz ' with 'no, I'm actually a 48 kHz' file. I think I used Apple for "compressor" if I'm not wrong, but I couldn't say it's time back.

Or, if everything sounds well in logic and exported just the audio sounds weird, then maybe the software that you play with, somehow has the bad example of fixed rate and plays the record with 44.1 kHz 48 kHz, resulting in the same effect.

    Hope I helped a little.

  • How to change the volume of a portion of an audio track

I have an audio track where part of it is too strong (in the middle).  Is there a way to select this area of the single audio track and change the volume for just this part of the track?  Thank you for helping this newbie

Yes, you can use the track volume automation.

What version of GarageBand do you use?

    In GarageBand 10:

    • Define the automation of the track of "Volume". You can see a slim automation curve, yellow.
    • Command-click on the track at the start of the area where you want the volume to add a control point. Add a second control point near the first and drag down the volume.  Add another ctrl-point where you want to go back to the old volume.

If the film has a choice of audio tracks, you should be able to slide down while the film is presented, then select audio in menus that appear.

  • export a project with several audio tracks changing volume level regardless of the export format

Recently, I had to submit a TVC and discovered this first changed the power after export level, when the TVC has no quality control.

I checked the sound intensity of other formats that I had exported and the same thing happened the sound intensity, she had changed.

After a bit of troubleshooting, I've found a workaround. I have mixdown all tracks in adobe hearing to a track and then imported it in first.

Once I did the sound intensity did not change after the export.

"Workflow" for when it did not work.

I used the edit in adobe for audio tracks from first hearing.

Corresponding to the audio for the power level, I wanted to and then recorded each track.

    Export first.

    To check the sound intensity

Put in the file exported in new project first

    Edit audio in adobe hearing.

Drag the audio file in game audio to check the sound level.

  • Possibility to change the preset audio track?

    Hi again,

I use a Sony cam which has a 5.1 surround and when I import my pictures to the scenario it still affects the sound the fourth audio which is that of a 5.1 surround sound. 1 and 2 are stereo and mono 3 (I think). Can I change this somehow, as well as the beach 1 becomes that of a 5.1 surround sound? Will allow me to save a lot of scrolling up and down time and facilitates a project on the eye.

  • Audio selection in auto Cs5.5 still plays rather then change just the audio track

I'm a newbie even after moving to DVD SP in yet for the creation of menu blu ray. Ive read and re-read the help files and they seem to be the same for the versions still dating back at least to cs3 for that matter... so I do something wrong or still just simply do not do a very basic thing...

I'm building a blu - ray with a video of singel track and 2 audio player. I am trying to bind a menu to allow a user to select a 5.1 or 2ch audio version for a feature film. Everything should be simple. I have a menu with several buttons. Each links button on an audio track in my calendar.

However, when I test my links, instead of simply changing the audio and return to the menu (according to the instructions in the help files), the movie plays from the beginning.

The correct audio track is played, but it is not my intention, at that time there. I want the user to choose the audio track and then allow the user to press another key play or to another menu and back before the movie starts.

So, how do just change the audio track but he not play there?

Aid says use "indicate relationship" so I choose this option and select the timeline, Yes, select the track audio 1 or 2, Yes. But are there any different way to do it if I really wanted to play the track at this time as well. What is the fundemental bit I'm missing here? Something to do with the type of button or a werid overide setting I'm missing? Can still actually do this? its quite frustrating seen arising from the use of SP of DVD, which allows any script, set gprm/sprm registers in a program that does not allow you to do anything beyond creating very very basic.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

To return to the menu after changing audio or any subtitle track, you must select the menu desired in the link option specify and change the audio and subtitle accordingly.

In the example above, what I did was, I went on the link specify, the menu, like target and also changed the audio track it and clicked OK

So here, after pressing button 3 (point 3), I would like to return to the menu and my audio would be handed over to the audio 2 track.

After that, what timeline I play, that would be played with track audio 2.

This is just a small example to show how it's done. Define navigation as you want.

  • Audio tracks ritardando

It is possible to program a ritardando in Logic Pro X 10.2.2 file that uses audio only (no lunch)?

Ritardando average programming create you a Curve of Tempo in the athletics world. As the name suggests, this is a global setting that affects all the tracks and their regions inside. But there is one exception. "SMPTE Lock.

The absolute time of your project, you can lock each region or individual events within a region (even the Automation Control Points). When you change the Tempo, this stay of object with this absolute time address and are not offset by any change of Tempo.

In your case, do the following:

    • Highlight all areas of MIDI in your workspace that you want to lock
    • Right-click on one of the regions to view the context Menu
    • Select Position of SMPTE SMPTE Logck ➤ Lock
    • Now all those blocked area will display a small padlock in the area header to indicate that they are locked at the time absolute (SMPTE) and not the relative time (bars | beats)
    • Change the Tempo or the creation of a curve of Tempo will not affect the position of these regions and MIDI events inside.

Be careful with this command, because you can really mess up your project. For example, one region, change the Tempo, and then liberate the region and return the locking tempo change.

This requires a thorough understanding of the so-called time stamp of an object in the logic, it is referenced to the absolute time or relative time and what happens when you change this reference.

Here is a form from my book "Logic Pro X - détails", where I have a separate chapter just on Tempo and time with an in-depth discussion and explanation on this subject, something that other books still shy away from.

  • Tempo change for som time and then again

I have a problem with my change of bpm. I have a project saved in 115 bpm. I want to save a bridge to 130 bpm, then return to 115 for my last chorus and the outro. How can I do this?

There are several ways to do...

1 / in the region Inspector are, of course, follow tempo & Pitch is checked.

2 / place the playhead where you want the 130 BPM to start and change the tempo on the screen.

3 / place the playhead where you want the 130 at the end (go back to 115) and change the tempo on the screen.

4 / If you open the global tempo track - you will now see the tempo changes visually (you can also change the tempo of the track as global tempo.

You can also turn on flex and and before it.

  • Adding an audio track

Is there a work around to have more than one audio track. Layers not, but if there are two clips edited together and you want to have a music video with an audio track and the second clip with a sound different?

Could you change the two tracks separately and then connect them then?

Or if you want to ask a music track, but then have a voice more layered on top?

    Hi Frankie,

Is there a work around to have more than one audio track. Layers not, but if there are two clips edited together and you want to have a music video with an audio track and the second clip with a sound different?

Currently, we don't have an easy way to do it, but it can be done. There are several ways you can accomplish this, but I'd probably use the following method:

    1. modify the first clip of the music you want and save it to your camera roll.

    2. create a new project and edit the 2nd clip with the desired band and save in your camera roll.

    3. create a new project using the 2 changes that you saved to your camera roll.

Or if you want to ask a music track, but then have a voice more layered on top?

Now Clip does not support a voice on the track, but if you had a voice more saved in iTunes, you could import as a soundtrack and use it for the project that you created in step 3 above.

I hope this helps! We look forward to continually improve the Clip and add features to help this type of workflow.

  • Is it possible to create discrete audio tracks in a multiclip (so when you switch to camera angles, you also pass audio channels)?

For now, it seems the multiclip reference only the audio track in the foreground, each time I create a multiclip from a nested sequence. I wish I could pass the audio but also video tracks when changing the angles. In addition, the audio is external - not sure if that will make a difference or not.

When you create your source multicam sequence, make sure to select "Switch Audio" in the pulldown sequence settings. Then, activate "Audio cameras following video ' in the key of the program monitor menu.

  • Newbie question - alternating scenes in order using an audio track?

    Hello

I filmed a musical school on 2 different nights.  Stage left the opening night and just Stadium last night.  All I want to do is use left step my main video and the audio track, then switch right of the stage sequences as needed.

Left of the scene is clearly the best audio track because I was closer to the piano.  However, at certain times, right Stadium has a better POV through the action onstage, accessories, etc.  They slightly sped through the night last too so I have a few audio challenges of synchronization when using the images on the right of the scene.

Anyway, here's where I am lost.  What is a cam multi task?  Or use the video 1 & video 2 track, if so, how?  Or should I cut the left and right of the stage scene scenes independent and mount it on 1 video all in order?

I am without PP6 terminology to locate this answer in the help section, but learned some other great things by looking at .  I have CS6 and am a former loser of Pinnacle Studio, uh, I mean the user.

Please tell me the commands/functions, I need to learn this task.  Thanks in advance for your help.

    JM

Oh, I tried that.  Definitely * not * a multicam project (except if you really want to tear your hair out!).

Because the timing is different on the two nights I recommend the implementation of these two shows in their own distinct sequences.  Stage left will be your primary, finished, sequence and allows you to define the right of the stage video and audio to be on track 2 (you'll need audio for reference and you will sometimes even use it).

Through the performance of the stage left and split the video to any points you * know * you'll want to use another camera angle.  Start with the scenes of 'must-use' and then go to the scenes 'like to use' - you will need to practice!

Disable clips of the scene left you use (or drop the opacity to 0%).  You should leave them in place, however, for reference.  Find the corresponding scene on the sequence of the scene to the right.  Cut it out and paste it on track 2 of the same scene in the sequence of the scene to the left (bring audio along for the ride too).

Here's where the magic 'edition' (read: crazy) is available in.  Finessse the entry points and each camera (you'll end up setting two of them) until you like the cut.  Sometimes, the clip of the scene right will be longer than the same scene on the camera of the scene to the left.  Sometimes, it will be shorter.  Cut your master timeline as needed; If the new right scene is longer, just lop off the stage from stage left.  If it is shorter, leave a space or drag the hidden a little scene.  The idea is to keep as "synchronized" as possible to the end.

You'll quickly learn when you can (and I can't) cut the songs!  Depends on your individual sellers, but will quickly become apparent.  You will also notice small (sometimes not so subtle) changes in costume, hair and makeup, not to mention the value of decoration and lighting.  You can sometimes get around these.  Sometimes you have to sacrifice your change to hide.  If you're very, very lucky you will have turned in very high HD.  If so, feel free to re-align your shots (i.e., zoom or pan).  Out and then put it on a standard def DVD and it will look wonderful!

Oh Yes... Another thing... the * next * time for that (and if you do successfully this time * will * be a next time!), turn in high definition and beg, borrow or steal a second camera.  Set the second on the back of the House (or somewhere, he can see the whole show).  Then, you can be free to actually follow the action with your primary camera knowing that there is an 'insurance' static shot that you will be able to synchronize to the top.  * Who * will be a multicam edition!
