automatic update after update to msg config. 3 0f 3 & re boots
Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!
Ideas:
- You have problems with programs
- Error messages
- Recent changes to your computer
- What you have already tried to solve the problem
- After automatic update, I received a message from configuration stage 3 of 3 0 0/0 full. After a few minutes, it restarts and has the same message 3 of 3 cong tried to remove all power, safe mod but always goes back to confg. 3/3.
Restore point:
Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.
Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...
Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
TAB through the fields that exist. It is the function of the TAB.
Otherwise you could never use TAB to go out in a field for example: subject. It would create an indefinate number of fields and are unable to function as a TAB key.
The morning after the automatic update, my XP PC monitor had a black solid (or was it blue?) screen with only the arrow cursor visible. Move the mouse did nothing except move the arrow cursor. I rebooted and fortunately the Windows logo appears, and I was able to access all the programs I normally use except Firefox. When I click on the Firefox icon in the XP boot screen, the arrow cursor turns into the hourglass. The hourglass stay right there. Firefox can run in an alternate universe, because when I ran CCleaner, I received a message saying that Firefox took a long time to close, and I want to force it to close.
I'm still able to send and receive emails, which indicates the Internet access. However, with no visible browser, I don't know how to connect to my XP PC Web sites. How can given these limitations, I go about restoring Firefox on my XP PC?
Thank you.
After an automatic update of firefox 23, wlecome to firefox / page Android still open
The automatic update is the update for Firefox 23 several days ago. Since then, when I open Firefox control compatibility module runs before opens Firefox and Firefox always opens on the welcome page in Firefox that wants connect me my PC with an Android phone. Since I don't have an Android phone, it is annoying to have to close this tab before you do anything else.
Previous updates took me at the time that the first homepage after the update, I opened Firefox. At least this time Firefox has not tried to change my home page from the one I chose to the Google search page. I can search in the toolbar if I want; I don't need Firefox to open the Google search page.
Why attached used pps files opened after the latest Automatic update of the ie8?
Attn: Microsoft Brainiacs; IT IS VERY ANNOYING!
attached pps files won't open if clicked in outlook express/ie8 after automatic update more recent.When I try to open files pps attached, this is what I get.a box with a red x will appear and this is the message;"this file has no program associated with it for performing this action.Create an association in the FOLDER OPTIONS Control Panel."Before the automatic update, this function worked fine.Also, the association for pps files is still there in the Folder Options Control Panel.and more if I save the pps file attached somewhere / anywhere and then click on it, it opens fine.
.. This failure to launch opening pps files attached, that happened after the latest Automatic update,
.. just one more why people hate automatic updates or updates of any kind.like the previous functions of work suddenly and inexplicapbly no longer work after the update took place!So what's the cure for this annoying problem?
Hi wwollmuth,I'm not sure from your post what version of Vista you are using or if you use the Viewer for Powerpoint as opposed to full Powerpoint (2003 or 2007?), but I can try to give you help to fix.
For. Files PPS (Microsoft PowerPoint slide show)
- Click Start, type regedit.exe and press ENTER
- Navigate to the following branch:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PowerPointViewer.slideshow.11\shell\Show
- Click view , and then click Rename
- Type the word Open so that the show is replaced with the Open command
- If you have the PowerPoint 2007 Viewer is installed, repeat the steps above in this key, thus:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PowerPointViewer.slideshow.12\shell\Show
- After having changed from Show to Open, close the Registry Editor window.
For. PPT (Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation) files
- Click Start, type regedit.exe and press ENTER
- Navigate to the following branch:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PowerPointViewer.show.11\shell\Show
- Click view , and then click Rename
- If you have the PowerPoint 2007 Viewer is installed, repeat the steps above in this key, thus:
After an automatic update which included KB976882 and restart the computer, I can no longer read the emails in Outlook or in the pane to previow, either by opening the item. Sometimes an error message appears "unable to open this item." Some emails appear to be open, but the view pane is empty (transparent). I suspect that it is related to the update of the junk e-mail filter, but don't know.
I had a password lock after a Windows automatic update 14/10/09.
I restored the system to a point before the updates, and I managed to open a session, but the updates keep installation every time I stop and I have to keep restore to be able to connect. I changed the settings to do not automatically updates, but it keeps the installation anyway, and then it does not recognize my password until I have restore back again before the updates on 10/14. How can I hide the updates or otherwise prevent install?
Disable automatic (countdown) closed after automatic update.
I run my computer 24/7 and keep programs I need to run all the time. I have automatic updates turned on and off because after the update, it restarts the computer and I lost all the information that I have been woking on. It is extremely irritating and the last time it was the case that I had not saved the data I was working for school and I lost everything. Hours and hours of hard work was gone.
First of all, I would like to know why Microsoft would think that is a sensable solution just disable someones computer and second, I want to know how to solve this problem. I can't support any option option which will allow updates to download and install, but ask me when it's convenient for me to turn it back on.
Thank you
Nate NateHi Nate2551,
Sometimes, Windows Update may run in an instance where the file that Windows is trying to update is locked or in use. When this happens, Windows cannot apply the update until it can access these files. So that you can benefit from the update, Windows will ask you to restart your PC to continue the installation of the updates. Windows Update will remind you if you have to restart your PC to continue the installation of an update and you give the option to "reboot now" or will give you the option to postpone the restart. If you are away from your PC for a long period of time, you can see that it automatically restarts your PC. Windows does to make sure all the latest security and other updates are applied in a timely, to help keep your PC safer with little effort for you.
If you are a system administrator and you want to restart behavior control, you can use Group Policy to prevent reboots automatic situation every time the administrator is connected.Access the link below and follow the steps carefully in the article below to configure automatic updates by using Group Policy or of registry settings.
