automatically optimize for costs of life battery batt to 100% within the parameters of the power manager
In the settings of my ThinkPad Power Manager W530, I chose the option "automatically optimize for life battery" (battery-> maintenance-> Mode of Charge of the battery). Nevertheless, he always fresh and keeps the battery at 100%. Is it normal for a battery 9 cells?
But many articles and discussions here at the forum State, actually in charge at 100% is not tor good battery life (see for example this article http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Welcome-FAQs-Knowledge-Base/How-can-I-increase-battery-life-ThinkPad/ta-... ). Do not miss anything?

No matter how many charge cycles the battery on it, just the time where you change the batteries maintenance mode. If you have configured to maximize battery life, the battery may charge at a lower percentage (somewhere around 90%, more or less a few percentage points), but will show this figure as "integral" or 100% for the system. If you change the mode to load completely, then the maximum capacity will change to read the actual capacity of the battery.
The only way your situation would be a concern if, after setting the battery in order to maximize the battery life, then using the system on battery and load up once again, the battery always charged up to the full 94 w/h instead of reducing the number.

My Toshiba laptop Satellite A30-871 began to discharge the battery while the power is connected (the LED shows that AC is connected but laptop consumes the battery power instead of loading battery and the use of current alternative). When the laptop achieved 0% battery turns off. Remove the power plug and reconnect do not resolve the problem, while the computer is turned on, only computer shutdown will begin the battery takes over. Which means that I can use portable so that battery retains some powers. Sometimes, when the laptop is turned off and the battery is charging, battery charging LED starts to blink and I have to remove the power plug and plug back.
I don "t think it's a bad power connector because the witness indicates the power is connected.
I wonder if anyone has a solution for me.
Just a question; does the laptop functions and using only the AC adapter (without the battery)?
If Yes, then I guess that the problem might be related to battery failure.
Maybe a new battery could solve this problem, but as you know this is just a suggestion
My battery will do not, at all.
The gauge was obviously wrong to happen very quickly after reaching 20%, so I've updated the power to 6.07 Manager and then perform a reset of the battery (I'm sure it's in that order, perhaps first reset).
After resetting the battery charged to 100% back, but as it is discharged, the charger was not. With the power, the battery is located just at the same percentage and descends very slowly (about 1% in two days).
I tried to play with the parameters of maintenance battery, the meter then said that charge will begin less than 80%, but the battery is already on the 20%. I checked the firmware in the Manager of power and with the stand-alone program but apparently no update is necessary and T 42, 4755 FRU part number is not listed as needing an update.
Current version of the firmware: 3f98-0004-0160-0130
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Power Manager. The power windows manager also seems to have the same problem.
I just baught the laptop last year, is a month out of warranty; I need it to be portable to work.
I thought about buying a new battery, but it seems to be the charge function is not working, and the battery was working fine before the reset and the update, apart from the loss of certain abilities and the inaccurate meter.
Product: 0578CTO Thinkpad Edge 14
BIOS: 80ET61WW (2.01)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
19% and declining
Thank you for hospitality, the effort and the answer. Greatly appreciated.
I tried this and just tried to reinstall the firmware of power management.
I finally solved the problem after reading this post by:
1 shut down the computer.
2. unplug the power supply cord (and everything - usb and monitor cables).
3 remove the battery.
4. play with the spring on the battery switches and shake threatening (probably unnecessary, but you may want to give it 10 to 15 seconds on the laptop).
5. replace the battery in the laptop.
6. connect the power cord.
7. start the laptop and connect.
48% and load
I installed Windows 2000 in an A75-S226, but I can't find a utility Power Manager for this OS. I tried the version of Windows XP, but as expected, it did not work.
Is there someone else by using Windows 2000 with this model?
This unit has been designed and delivered in the U.S. market
He was able to find a utility power for W2k on the site Web of Toshiba driver we.

I have my laptop lenovo x 230 put to sleep when I close the lid. When I close the lid of the icon of 'sleep' on the back of the screen lights up. But the dough will not last all night on mode 'sleep'. In about five hours, the battery is completely flat, and I have to plug it in and start the system. I've never seen this run poor dough in mode 'sleep' on any laptop I've ever owned.
Another thread in this forum blame the USB port can charge mobile phones, etc. at low specific power and recommend to disable the "always on" option fo this USB port in the Bios settings. I then either it seems to have contributed. At least my laptop still not succeed overnight in mode 'sleep'.
At this point, it seems my ownly option is to use the "sleep mode" only when the laptop is plugged in and the focus mode standby extended when the power of dough, which is disappointing. I've never had to worry about this in the past with other laptops.
Maybe / probably related is the fact that the lenovo ThinkVantage Power Manager (v. 7.16) hangs at the splash screen when I try to open it, so I tried to manage the power through the Windows Control Panel power settings.
Use powercfg in the cmd window (run it with administrator rights) to verify the effectiveness of power.
powercfg - devicequery wake_armed
When the battery works fine. When the power adapter is pluged into the computer will be boot & when the desktop appears on the screen go blankin seconds. computer is still on, but nothing on the screen.

Problem I happened suddenly, laptop computer workins perfect all the time, but since yesterday when I plug the laptop ac adapter will work for 10 seconds off powerd then and then lights - just the orange power cord icon flashes.
I checked the AC with my girlfriend protected r500 adapter - it has exactly the same model and its working perfect on HQ..., when I use the battery of my laptop works again correctly - any ideas
You can start your Portege with only (removed battery) AC power?
If yes it and when Windows is fully charged battery back in place.
What happens when you do this?
I was wondering,
When the implementation of a new infrastructure from scratch, with an ESX cluster from scratch
and when the servers DNS themselves will run inside the cluster,
Then, it is advisable to use IP addresses instead of the domain name COMPLETE for the right ESX environment?
Here's what I've done so far:
-installed 1 ESX host
-installed donain controller as VM
-installed PSC and VCSA
-created the new cluster
-installed the second ESX host, added to the cluster.
I installed a VM DC as the first thing after the installation of the initial ESX host, I could have started using the domain name COMPLETE for the ESX environment at this time.
However, I didn't do it.
For installation of the VCSA and when you add ESX hosts to the cluster, I used IP addresses instead of the FQDN names.
It seems stupid and dangerous for me to use domain COMPLETE the ESX hosts themselves, because the domain controller is running in the cluster.
So I used IP addresses only to ensure the ESX HA cluster and the characteristics of heartbeat stay ok if something were to happen to the DNS server.
However, the VCSA installation and when you add hosts to the cluster,.
the MISTLETOE gave me a warning, indicating that it is preferable to provide a FULL domain instead of an IP address name.
I am of the opinion that if you have no physical DNS servers, it is not a good idea.
My opinion is that when your nameservers inside the ESX cluster itself and you do not have 2 redundant external DNS servers, so it is not wise to use the FQDN for your ESX hosts, PSC and VCSA setup.
In my view, using the property intellectual property is much safer in this case.
I was wondering what is your angle on it.
Do you see the same way, or have different opinions?
It is advisable to have a working DNS for vSphere environment however the use of DNS for things like vSphere HA have been removed in more recent versions of the product. Refer to the section of the guidelines of the general network of this document for more details: https://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/techpaper/vmw-vsphere-high-availability.pdf
With this in mind I wouldn't be worried about use of FULL domain for the addition of services like the ESX host, etc.. Failure where HA would be restarting the virtual computer, there is no dependency on DNS so it will continue to work as expected and, subject to the availability of resources the virtual machine starts on another host.
According to your vSphere licenses, you may also like to consider the implementation of anti-affinity DRS VM to keep your DNS Appart servers and on different hosts. This can prevent your servers DNS are declining when the failure of a host. You must have Enterprise edition or later for this.
Any news on the release date for the mangager of power for windows 8? I hate charghing my battery to 100%, I'm trying to extend my battery life but it is impossible without the power manager!
You can read through the thread long enough here:

Hope this helps to clarify.
How can I get automatic updates for windows xp drivers easily & no frills? in the same easy way for windows 7
Thank you, appreciate it.
1. what happens when you try to perform automatic updates?
2. were you able to perform before automatic updates without any problems?
You can read the following article and try to reset the Windows Update components and check.
You can also visit the computer manufacturer and try to update the latest version of the drivers for all devices.
Also refer to the following article to improve the performance of the system.
Hello! Try to solve the problems here, any suggestions welcome!
I have a Dell laptop, Inspiron 15, 3000 Series computer that is running Windows 8. Not 10, not 7, 8.1 not. 8.
I've owned this PC for almost a year now. A year ago, I could run this laptop throughout the day on the setting of the average brightness without the symbol "Connect charger" arise. Lately, however, when I try to run my laptop when not on the charger, adjusting brightness, 100%, I have 2 hours of battery life. Period.
I ran troubleshooting program on my laptop to improve the use of the power, but it did nothing. I checked, and it is not about how high-performance.
I will admit that I tend to leave my laptop on the charger a lot when I'm not with her, sometimes all day and I keep on much of the time. And maybe, that has something to do with it.
I just want to know what is the problem with my computer to run his old abilities. Like I said before, any help that anyone would be willing to give me would be greatly appreciated!
~ Thank you!
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.
We need more information to help you better.
(1) have you updated the latest drivers for hardware/chipset on the manufacturer's Web site?
(2) do you use third-party applications/software on your computer?
Please be informed that it is not recommended that you plug the charger even if you run the laptop as it can degrade the performance of the battery. If you use applications/software from third-party manufacturers on your computer, they can consume excessive battery which can lead to the fall in the life of the battery.
A power plan is a collection of hardware and system settings (such as the display, sleep, etc.) who manages the way your PC uses power. The power management that you can use depend on the type of PC you have. I suggest to use the standby power plan that will consume less power and check to isolate the problem.
Please refer to the below link on how to set the standby power plan / create new power management.

So I had a couple of Acer Aspire 3000 who were not working and got one to work...
But it seems that I am having some problems when the battery is in it - and otherwise fine without him.
Excessively long Shut Downs that go to the continuous reboots / Touchpad problems, gel, etc.
Says the battery until it goes to @ 7-8%. Then the battery does not charge.
When the power adapter is disconnected - the battery is charge?
Given that these laptops have been sitting around for a couple / few years... and have been given to me... I do not deny the possibility that the battery is not good. And there was only 1 battery using 2 laptops.
After that she has charged at 7-8% - I unplugged it the adapter - and it ran for @ 20 min. and said: '1 HR 30 min remaining"until she was cut.
I also tried tried the - remove battery unplug adapter and hold the power button for 2 min method - then installed battery and adapter - but nothing helped...
(On a side - note, which is probably not related - my wifi doesn't seem to be working - even though it appears, it does nothing wrong in. Device Manager - and runs a diagnosis does not help...) I know there are wireless networks but none does not appear! Broadcom 802. 11 g)
In any case - I saw a post on a different site-say an UPDATE of the BIOS could possibly solve the problem of battery - (wifi may be too)...
Given that I've NEVER DONE an UPDATE to BIOS; I'll ask NICELY, please walk me but this... with as little as ACKRONYNS and GEEK TALK as Possible (respectfully). I had heard of this sort of thing - to download the update of the Bios... and I think it can be put on a Falsh player - but is a ZIP and should she be EXTACTED - which I'm not too big? Then "Select (something)? and then maybe restart... So now, I'm willing to give it a try - with some help and input. THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE! a link for the download and the proper BIOS UPDATE would be a big departure... - I guesss that goes without saying.
So, here are some features of the information system: (I hope there enough, but please let me know if you need more)
3 to 32 of the latest BIOS availabel
for flash, unzip the file and then read the statement in the WinPhlash SOP XP 2005.pdf file update.
I installed a Drobo on my Vista 64 SP1 and became only on transer 12 MB/s on USB 2.0 speeds. I went into policies and changed the setting on the drive to optimize Performance. Come find out who is a no no with a Drobo. Is no longer, I can start or stop the computer with the Drobo connected via USB. If I connect it runs that the drive is not recognized in Device Manager or any where. The only change before and after, it's changing the Optimize setting. Yes, is there a reg edit I can do to get the back of the car, or all USB drives, to optimize for a quick deletion since I can't access the drive at all now? Any other ideas?
Also, I tried to do a system restore, but for some reason any Vista shows only a restore point of yesterday and today. He has no points for any time before that.
Oops... Press the wrong button
(1) go into your registry with regedit... the registry entry for your drobo will remain even when you are offline.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM
now searching: UserRemovalPolicy
make sure that 'look' VALUES is verified
keep hitting "Next" until it looks like you're in the tree of your drobo (have not installed on this PC so I can't find the exact key for you)
The value is probably '2 '... Change it to 3 (no matter if hexadecimal or decimal).
connect drobo when you get back into windows.
.. Lister other possibilities:
(2) would work... connect a USB 1 or 1.1 hub to PC and connect drobo to hub...
(3) go in the BIOS of the PC and USB set 1 or 1.1... might work... maybe not...
I use a CTO E525. Since owning, almost 3 years now, I never had a message advising me when the thresholds have changed.
If you don't have already figured it this out it's regarding the "optimize maximum life of the battery (change automatically for me)" option, which has been verified and the option "warn me when the thresholds change."
In addition, reset battery meter also has an option to "Notify me when reset is recommended" which is also checked. However, I was never notified of a.
Is the reason I'm bringing this place, I was looking to buy a new battery, until they are no longer available. My battery is in good enough condition, and the power manager supports this. After a count of 464 cycle I would have thought that he should have at least a few notifications about the battery. Even the thresholds have never changed.
So my question is... It's really nothing. I really don't think. If anyone has any pictures, screen captures or links to the video of how some of these notifications appear, it would be too much. Periodically show messages about the load capacity is also activated, never seen a.
PS - these forums/community is really bad. Virtually none of the sons began to get as an answer and many of them remain unsolved. Lenovo should have a team of programmers of high quality and of engineers to solve the problems of the people here. None of my previous posts have been resolved, and since the purchase of this Thinkpad, remain problems/flaws. It would be nice to get more tech savvy here.
Check number of the tab of the battery for the ability to design and the full Charge capacity. By dividing by the former gives you your current battery health.
I never got a notification until the battery was severely degraded, which could well be a good sign.
Some Subforums get more attention than others. =/
Where can I find the downloads that will enable the power management or hotkey support for my Portege R500?
I already installed the drivers for everything except the fingerprint reader (do not want), tpm (really envy) and hdd (tos620a) motion sensor (not embarrassed at this time). Most of the drivers are recent original sites of the seller or, in the absence of those, leaving Toshiba 64-bit Vista download areas.
Everything else works generally: wifi, graphics & chipset, sound, lan, bluetooth stack, cardbus, card reader, etc.
However, after doing this, are the following questions:
FN keys do not work for suspend to ram, suspend-to-disk, * screen * brightness *-essential to extend the life. FN keys for digital/Board pad, rocker of external surveillance * work
Dedicated toggle backlight button does nothing
However, in order to get the lifetime of battery beyond ~2.5 hours and closest alongside 7.1 hours, I need to turn things down / stop occasionally. What software can help and where I can get, as it runs on Windows XP x 64 edition?
I tried packages of 32-bit xp which provides Toshiba, they do not seem to work on x 64. The package 'chopsticks' requires 'cmod', but 'cmod' gives this error:
Installation of Modules common TOSHIBA
Not an ACPI machine. Cannot install TOSHIBA ACPI peripheral logic.
I tried the 32-bit xp package called 'pwrsav '; It installs a bad help link in my Start menu and adds a few exes, tpsmain and tpsoddctl, to my automatically starts. These 32-bit executables left immediately after execution.
I tried to install packages of 64-bit Vista from Toshiba hotkeys / common modules / power management, but the only one of the three I can find via toshiba.co.uk is the common modules, and unfortunately this zip file contains only .inf, .cat and .sys files, no program installation.
I use a new installation at the same time because the default installation of Vista is unusable (900 MB of memory used on a fresh startup desktop, disk divided into several partitions, trial, adware and with broken software at left and right)
I use x 64 because I am software engineer the next product needs to work on x 64, and this new laptop was a likely first candidate
Bad news first :(
The European driver Toshiba page provides the drivers for XP 32 bit and Vista (32-bit & 64-bit).
I did find all the drivers for XP 64-bit OS.
As much as I know XP 64-bit drivers is not exist for one of the series of Toshiba laptops.
Now a new better ;)
I found a tool called display Tuner.
It offers convenient access to the monitor settings, such as brightness, contrast, color settings.
Perhaps this is an option for you.
Google a bit
