  Somehow, all personalized MSN e-mail folders and its contents disappeared from our PC. Mail online is still there and the standard folder structure is visible on the PC.   Bad method.  Delete this account, download and install the Outlook Connectorand configure your MSN.com account with it.  Outlook requires the connector Outlook to work with Hotmail/MSN/Live email accounts.

  When I try to remove MSN mail using the control panel "Assistant" tells me that I am not connected to the internet.  I am.  Is there a special method to remove MSN mail?

  I called and got hold of MSN Premium Partner Support today and they advised that the solution is to remove "Post Platform" for the registry key below:

  The registry path:
  open up the registry editor
  try going to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\User CurrentVersion Platform\.
