Backup Windows remove deleted files from the backup drive when updating?

I want to imitate a Raid operation for backup as closely as possible.  I have 2 identical HDs, C: and D:, that I will configure for automatic backup once a week.  I hope D develop beyond C, because I unload the external HDs files of C each week.

Hi rdverb,

  • Deleting files from the Flash drive

I have a Sandisk Cruzer Edge 16 GB Flash Drive.  I use it with two computers, an iMac and a Macbook Air, both using OS X 10.8.2.  Recently, I loaded about 10 GB of files on it.  I have now deleted these files.  However, Finder always shows the Flash drive as carrying 10.8 GB of files and having only 5,2 GB of available.  When I try to record a 10 GB file on the Flash drive, I get a message saying that there is not enough available space.

How can I delete uploaded files from the Flash drive so that I can reuse the whole 16 GB?

In which window you find "Tools"? To run under Vista Disk Defragmenter, I would choose to start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter.

  • Try to remove deleted files from the Media Player library

There are video files in my Windows Media Player library that I deleted, but items still appear in my video library.  When I right click on the file and choose 'Remove', nothing happens.  The video files were originally in the folder my music and I deleted them using the Explorer.  However, they still appear in the Media Player library (even if they are not functional - because I have deleted!).  I followed what Umesh suggested GregRN, but that doesn't seem to work for me.  How can I get rid of deleted files appear in the Media Player library?   I use a HP Pavilion dv4 using Windows 7 (64-bit).

  • How to remove unnecessary files from the hard drive using Lightroom.

    Hello

I use Lr 5.7 on Win7 64-bit. I would remove completely some old files and their contents that were part of my previous, very messy organization. I still have parents and masters images files, so I have no need extra junk on my hard drive.

I tried to do a right click on the file, but the only option is to delete the catalog. I saw posted solutions that say click on icon less. I don't see an icon less anywhere. As far as I know, Lightroom really doesn't want "delete me" anything.

  • Reserectes from long deleted files from the hard drive Windows 7 Pro.

Long very old files deleted, appear in My Document (files not necessarily the original). Repeatedly remove them, using a shredder program, they always appear. I wonder if the problem will be resolved to a clean install.

Programs may not be transferred.  They must be installed again from your record source or internet downloads.

Data can be transferred to a new system.  The best way to do this is to copy the data from your drive to be replaced (assuming that he still works) on a disk hard external - that's what you should be backup anyway - then, after your system is rebuilt, you can transfer data from this external storage on the disk.

  • Remove temporary files from the local disk c/documents and settings/user/localsettings/temp name

Remove temporary files from the local disk c/documents and settings/user/localsettings/temp name

By definition, this folder should contain only the elements you don't need.  If I understand correctly, this temporary folder is a place where temporary files are stored during program facilities and the facilities.  However, I have seen references other sites to help saying some programs can store folders and files.

I do my own temporary file elsewhere, name it accordingly and move all the files in the temp folder to the new folder. Use your computer normally for a while, and if nothing complains about missing files, you have a good indication that none of the moved files are important and should be safe to delete.

  • Deleting files from the recovery disk

After a complete restoration, I opted to back up files on the collection had ' disk (Dell computer Vista Home).  I know now it is the place of wriong. I tried it but not able to delete individual files from the D drive.  Why wouldn't they?  Finally, I erased the problem by following the advice of Rummy on February 20, 2009.

Sorry to be naïve; never my first post.  In a previous post said Rami delete the 2 files: Medial.bin and the file with the same name as my computer.  It worked. I had beed trying to delete each individual subfolder and even the .jpeg in each folder, but could not delete individual items.

  • Remove stranded files from the hard disk to the VM package

I have a virtual merger machine that is now 96 GB in size (database development) and it contains several virtual hard drives.  Now, I have cleared one of the drives on and outsourced (he placed on an external Firewire based drive).  Removing the abandoned drive does not reduce the size of the virtual machine.  Research in the VM package, I see that the hard disk file (vmdk) is always inside the package and using 54 GB.

The question is so I can delete these files from the VM package or it will damage the VM?  I tried to make a backup of the VM, but right at the end that it maintains the production of an error so I would like to know if anyone has experience with this before making the jump.

Removing a virtual drive simply deletes the references, it does not delete the virtual disk. If you do not have a snapshot (for example), it is safe to delete. Make sure get you the right one, well - I recommend you all first move somewhere else and then try to start the virtual machine. If it is used at the moment (but maybe not if it is only used by a snapshot), merge will complain.

  • Cannot delete files from the Recycle Bin

    Hello

I'm unable to access my trash, everythime I click on the folder, it says windows Explorer has a problem, then said restarting windows.

And the window just closes, it is there anyway to delete the files from the trash bin other than to go to the folder it self.

    See you soon

    Serrano

Here is an article on how to repair a trash corrupted in Vista: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/131294-recycle-bin-corrupted-cannot-delete-file-folder.html.

It restarts if you left or do a right-click on the icon or both?  Here are a few ways to empty it by using two methods:

    1. On the desktop, right-click on the Recycle Bin.
    2. Then click the Empty trash to empty its contents.
    3. You will be asked if you are sure that before it permanently deletes the files.
    4. If you're absolutely sure, then click Yes to clear the contents of the Recycle Bin.
    5. Alternatively, you can double-click the Recycle Bin to open and examine its contents.
    6. And then on the file menu, click empty the Recycle Bin.
    7. After confirmation, Windows Vista will be empty all files from the Recycle Bin.

Go to control panel / customization / Desktop Icons and remove the trash, click OK and close.  Then go back and add the trash.  See if the new basket has the same problem.

Here is a program that you download that adds a command to empty the trash to the command line if all that you need to do is type of the command in the box search now and it will happen. http://itsvista.com/2007/01/itsvista-tip-23-empty-vistas-recycle-bin-from-the-command-line/.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
